The entire process from sign up until our son arrived back home was easy and wonderful! So thankful we said YES!

The tour was great. The places the guide took us to were fun and educational. Overall experience was good.

What an incredible experience for my 18 year old. As a parent, I appreciate the payment program, and the attention to detail on the part of EF Tours. I felt safe, and had a very clear understanding of what to expect throughout the process. The communication was exceptional, and my son had the experience of a lifetime. I couldn’t recommend this program more.

Accommodations were great, Deborah, tour director was first class—kept us informed and entertained. Local tour guides were engaging and knowledgeable.

I'm not happy with office staff customer service.

I made several question calls I never received a return call.

I liked the small group tour, it was easy to get to know one another. The hotels were good. I wish there would have been a meet and greet with the tour director (normally there is one) also, we did not have any dinners included, only one with a paid excursion. Also, we did not get the city tour that was advertised for San Jose. There were only two tours included in this trip, everything else had to be booked and paid extra. So this tour was much more expensive because it didn’t include any meals (except breakfast, which is usually free) and had to pay for 5 extra tours!! But Costa Rica is amazing!!

We enjoyed our trip, but, there are a few improvements we think would make it even better.
Food. The breakfasts were ok and even very good in some of the hotels. But, the dinners that were provided were lacking. I believe that better options could be provided. We received the exact meal 3 times. There were boiled potatoes or fries with a piece of meat at each meal. We could have been given a different vegetable, a salad, or choice between two entrees. I know that it is supposed to be geared for kids, and we need to be quick, but neither adults or the kids were satisfied with the meals we received. We weren’t expecting 5 star meals, but, these were truly subpar.
The food was very inexpensive, and could have at least included a soft drink.
Our tour guides were very good. Informational talks and we saw wonderful places. It would have been nice to be able to tour inside more of the sites, rather than just seeing from outside. We missed several opportunities in Hungary and Dresden.
Kaja was wonderful and very accommodating. We all would love to have another experience with her in the future.
Overall, the tour was so fast paced, even for the kids, at times, that it decreased the enjoyment. Maybe seeing fewer sites and spending more in depth time might be better?

Great itinerary, we hit most of the must sees that people have. The Tour directors were professional, very knowledgeable, and lots of fun. Flight schedule was a little crazy, but more so because of the airlines than EF. Can't wait for our next trip!

Alex our tour guide was incredible and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Franceso our driver was also top notch and ensured our safety when on the bus. Our second hotel was not ideal to say the least and the hotel management was rude and unprofessional. Multiple times our parents went to ask for a drink and the staff would not help at all. The staff also lied about dinner the second night stating that the other tour director requested both groups eat dinner together, which also came out cold for multiple people in our group. This in fact was not true and it turned out the hotel just didn't want to feed the groups two separate times. The breakfast options at this hotel were awful compared to every other hotel also. I would not recommend that hotel to anyone. Other than that, the sightseeing was great, we really enjoyed the free time that kids were able to experience. Alex did a wonderful job incorporating free time into the trip and making sure each kid was happy, safe, and learned while seeing some of the most historical sights in the world.

Tour guide was perfect for her job!

The tour itself was wonderful! The Tour Director was fabulous, the itinerary was packed (in a good way!), and we definitely got the most out of our time. The food and lodging was pretty great, and the bussing that we used to get around was comfortable and safe. If our travel-to-Japan experience had been better, this would be a 5-star review.

The travel to Japan left much to be desired. We had an overnight in San Francisco at a La Quinta Inn that did not have sufficient shuttle service to get our group of 20 to the hotel. We only got 5 people on the shuttle that came once an hour, and we were sitting in the 40 degree San Francisco weather at night before we kinda gave up and called Ubers. Our flight the next day was fine, but the layout between the flight to Tokyo and the flight to Osaka was only two hours, so we barely made it to the other plane (had to switch terminals with two shuttle trips). We only made the plane because they held it for 20 minutes. I think the EF travel team could have done a better job for our trip there. The trip back did not have these problems at all!

I was so happy we decided to see Europe on a group tour with EF. We got to see and experience so much more with a local tour guide and fellow travelers. Every detail was taken care of so that we could just enjoy the sites.

Everything was great EXCEPT the flight schedule. Layovers going and coming were way too long.

Japan was awesome and all our tour guides and drivers were excellent. I would definitely visit again given the opportunity. However we had a huge failure with EF staff on the US side and American Airlines and four kids were not allowed to travel at the airport on departure day due to one word missing on their Covid tests. Devastating for them, their families and those that were able to go.
