Fantastic spread of all Uzbekistan with a super commentary all the wAy

The trip covers what it expected from the itinerary

GREAT trip. not so great some of the hotels. worst hotels - in Flores and china hotel in belize. one without aircon in 40+ deg heat other simply dirty with question if bed shet were changed lately...

The trip was predominantly long days of driving without actually experiencing the countries we visited. For example Issy-Kul lake was merely a sliver of blue on the horizon, we didn't make a short stop or even get a close enough look. Or another day we drove for the entire day only to arrive in time for dinner and bed before leaving again in the morning without spending anytime exploring this area. These disappointments may have been avoided by leaving much earlier in the morning. I think most people on this trip would not have minded leaving significantly earlier if it meant we actually had time to visit the sites detailed in the trip notes_x000D_

Also whilst I was aware that I was visiting cultures which had meat heavy diets and that vegetarian meals would be difficult to come by, the guide in Kyrgyzstan went out of her way to try and find myself and the other 2 vegetarians foods, often taking at length with the restaurant to organise a meal. However it felt like our guide in Uzbekistan just took us to restaurants he always took his groups without researching whether there were other options within the location we had stopped at. It felt like a great deal of the trip he was on autopilot, just running the trip as he had done in the past, no real tailoring it to his tour group.

Our trip leader (Alana McKenzie) was excellent. Unfortunately some members of the group were quite frustrating, which tarnished the experience slightly.

This was a good trip. Well organised and ran smoothly by the tour guide whereby he also took us to extra places. However I have not rated this a 10 as believe the trip is more 6 days than 7 as the first day does not start until 6pm when you meet at the hotel. The location of the motel left nowhere local to go out and visit whereby a hotel within Hollywood would have been a similar price stay.

Varied experiences on the trip with cultural guidance, which we would be very difficult to do ourselves. It made us appreciate meeting people, observing wildlife and taking in the wondrous landscape. A truly memorable trip which we are thankful to have done.

Marketa did a great job as our tour guide.

We saw many different aspects of the Moroccan culture, and the trip was very well organised and planned. Going on a tour takes the worry out of looking for accommodation and places to eat every night, and I enjoyed that. Also we were able to go to a range of places in a short period of time as all the research has been done by the company, saving us many hours. However, group tours are not for everyone, and can be too busy for some people.

If I had finished my tour in Ecuador and not had the Peru leg It would have been a 10. Johanna Cordova is a truly wonderful guide. Her knowledge and passion for her country is phenomenal and I always felt safe, in capable hands and well informed. The Ecuador's itinerary, while including some massive travel days, took us to wonderful places and I thoroughly enjoyed them all. up until entering Peru I would recommend Intrepid to everyone however once we were in Peru, thus changing tour guides to Shirley (last name unknown) it really went down hill as per my e-mail to the Melbourne Intrepid office. I felt unsafe, isolated and genuinely like the Shirley didn't care whether we had a good trip or not. The Itinerary was ok, though I question why we stopped in places like Chiclayo and not ust travel the extra 3hours to Trujillo, and why we didnt stay at the coast near Trujillo. Neither Chiclayo or Trujillo had very little to offer. Overall I still enjoyed Peru but this was because of my fellow travels and I know I could have enjoyed it much much more if either we had a different guide or our guide, Shirley, even pretended to care about us.

Felt the tour was a bit short. Probably more pricey compared to another similar tour I have done with another company in South America.

Fall Color was very nice. Even though the colors of the areas where not there this late September, all the places where great to see, the guide very knowledgeable.
