We loved Barcelona!

The sites were amazing. I felt like I saw most of the highlights of Spain on this trip. The castles and gardens were gorgeous. The hotels were also very nice. The hotel in Seville was not as nice as the other two hotels but the area was very old and I can understand.

The Seville portion of the trip was great! The Casas de Baez was a wonderful boutique hotel perfectly situated to explore the old city and the one day tour by Reyes was an insightful walking sightseeing pleasure. Madrid accommodations and tour were also top notch. The rail transportation between cities was actually a nice way to go. We took full advantage of our free days and even added extra days in Barcelona and Madrid. Overall it was a lot of fun!

The wonderful sights in Barcelona, Madrid, and in Sevilla (a city that we added to the trip through General tours). Smoothness of private transfers General provided. Hotels in Madrid and Barcelona were very good, especially free WiFi in Barcelona hotel (St. Moritz). Buffet breakfasts in all three hotels were great. Pedro, our guide in Barcelona, was terrific.

My AAA office should have informed me upfront about when our travel vouchers would arrive. I did not get any information about how this was done and was feeling very insecure about just how the trip was going to go when with only a week left before departure I had no vouchers.
I also did not like having to go on line to get any information about our hotels.
I can't say enough good things about our 4 guides. They were all excellent. It was a pleasure to really get to talk about many things with them and not just hear a prepared "lecture." Our Granada guide, Elaina, had actually studied in the U.S. at my Alma Mater and had visited in a city about 20 miles from my hometown. Small world.
I felt this was a good first time abroad experience for my 18 year old granddaughter. She hopes to return to Granada for her semester abroad in college.

I cannot compliment you enough on the guides we had - Mary in Madrid, Aurora in Seville and Elaina in Granada. They were all personable and outstanding. They even toured us on their holidays which we thought was above and beyond the call!

The personal attention of the tour guides and drivers was excellent, and Jack was very well informed. The hotel accommodations could not have been better suited to our needs. The Xi'an guide, Jack, suggested an evening music and dance entertainment that was worthwhile, and he accompanied us to that venue.

The terra cotta warriors and horses was the main draw of this trip for me. I think the museum was expertly presented. We even met the farmer who discovered this treasure! Lunch was a nice variety of dishes, the highlight being the noodle soups. Very good! Our excellent guide recommended a dinner theater-type evening outside of this package. It was a great way to exchange impressions of the day's experiences with other travelers while tasting the famous local steamed dumplings. We are planning another, bigger trip in December with General Tours, and looking forward to an equally great time!

Guides -- We had to have been blessed by two of the nicest people in Chile. Solange Arriagada is charming and attentive. She asked many questions to get to know us and determine our preferences in Santiago. She allowed us to go "off script" and to the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, rather than San Cristobal Hill which we visited on our own the next day. Roberto Teao, on Easter Island was great, telling stories as he drove, spreading rumors, singing native songs, and generally entertaining us for eight hours. We did take a break for fresh-cooked hot lunch back in town on back-yard picnic-tables at the Mahinatur office. He also allowed us to go "off script" to see the Vinapu site with its unique stone wall.

Accommodations -- Le Reve Boutique Hotel in Santiago was darling. The street has a few restaurants, and when we opened our windows, two buskers (one guitar and one trumpet) entertained us from a distance performing So Nice, Girl from Ipanema, Take Five, and We are the Champions, et al. Our bungalow at Taha Tai Hotel on Easter Island was darling. Only a short walk from "downtown" Hanga Roa, we were situated in a more residential area with chickens and at least one cow being kept nearby. The restaurant overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

Delighted by the excellent service, flexibility and friendly demeanor of our guide and driver.

How much we got to see and do because of timely airport pick-ups and deliveries, the arranged guided tours, the on-the-spot assistance in adding additional events, like a dinner show on Easter Island with authentic Polynesian food, and the beautiful oasis like hotels to return to every night.
