Globus

Our tour guide, Holmfridur Ran Sigvaldadottir, was wonderful, engaging, entertaining and caring. The tour had a lot of immersive experiences built in, and we had to make a few changes due to weather....we did not worry because we had a knowledgeable local guide and our driver was patient and skilled as well. The tour group was relaxed and happy....our needs were well met. We all enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinners featuring Icelandic flavors and foods. The storytelling from Holmfridur was enjoyable and educational...learning about the Icelandic sagas and the unique history of this geological wonder.

Fantastic trip! Stewart pointed out all the amazing things to see and kept everything running smoothly.

Once again Globus did a terrific job! Clean, safe, comfy hotels conveniently located. Knowledgeable, warm concerned tour director. Comfortable clean bus driven by expert! Delicious food served in clean pleasant restaurants. Globus Portuguese Escape! Top notch!

I loved Budapest, Vienna, Prague and Berlin.

Tours need to indicate the pace of the tours. Some individuals are unable to keep up with the walking pace. Thus, causing the entire tour to slow down at a snails pace.

I would have rated it a five star but the guide was not what I typically have experienced in the past with Globus.
He lacked empathy and was very inappropriate with his responses to the travelers. A women had an emergency when we were on the road with heavy traffic and asked to use the bathroom that is in the bus. He shouted ‘no’ to just cross her legs. Everyone heard is inappropriate remark. In Dresden two of the women traveling with the group fell and hurt themselves. One hitting her face and knees and the other injured her hip. He was not concerned about them and
proceeded to lecture all of us on how to walk. His daily instruction were not very clear and when asked for clarification he would become physically and emotionally upset and would argue with the clients. I personally told him that my vacation was to be fun and enjoyable and not one to be belittled and reprimanded as if we were children.

The knowledge of the Tour Guides!

The people! Everyone that we dealt with was knowledgeable, friendly and informative. Everything went smoothly!

Great tour director. Bus driver. Clean bus. Hotel in Porto. Tour stops. Free time. Port Tour. Cork tour. Winery in Douro valley.

Phone app was poor. To say it’s important to the point we won’t send it to you until 14 days before your trip, then when you get access it has only generic info. It should have the daily schedule. Hotels and other pertinent information. To post this info on a board in the hotel is only so good and basically archaic.

Hotel change in Lisbon with less than 24 hours notice was plain poor. We made plans based on the info in the travel document.

Our tour guide was fantastic and most of the sites we visited were very good. Wish Globus would have people wear name tags like other tour companies as with 40 in a group and being old, it is tough to know people's names. Last night dinner in a room with another big group was not a way to end a tour.

Our tour was amazing! It was well planned, and we visited all the sites I wished to see, Ragia is the best tour guide- knowledgeable, fun, patient- and we had time to explore on our own.

After 27 days of Cruising on Royal Princess from Vancouver, BC Canada, four of us in our party, arrived in Sydney Oct 23. Prior to leaving Canada we received well documented emails as what to expect from our package. Hotels in Sydney and Cairns were up to the first class standards of what we were expecting and paying for. Melbourne hotel, Stamford Plaza was not. Single beds requested but not provided. Mold in shower. Room not made up the following day until we called the desk at 4PM. Deposit of $100 per day whereas others were $50 for 3 days. Bottled water provided at $2.50 each whereas other hotels had no charge. I spoke with manager and he waived the water charge after apologizing for their shortcomings. We were originally booked into the Savoy but was later changed, perhaps the Savoy may have been better. Globus agents were really pleasant and helpful for Cairns and Melbourne however the agent in Sydney appeared rushed in giving her presentation. Transportation arrangements between Hotels and Airport were first class something to look forward to after a flight into a strange City. Thought the price was a bit high for transport from Melbourne Hotel to Airport. We all thought that a 1/2 day tour in Sydney and Melbourne was less than expected after paying the overall price for the Globus tour. We look back on it now and could have had two tours and not one. The Cairns Reef Tour was first class and enjoyable. The Sydney city tour had a great driver-guide who was well versed in the history and accompanying comments he had. The tours in Sydney and Melbourne did not end where we were picked up and for those who may have had a mobility issue, walking or public transport was the only way back to our hotel, the pick up location. Our party of 4 were all over 75 years old however had no mobility or health issues.

Was told there would be a total of 25 people on tour. There were 28. Very upset. When 24 were confirmed I tried to get 2 friends to join us. GLOBUS REFUSED SINCE IT WOULD HAVE GONE OVER 25. Why then were there 28 on tour. I felt we were lied to and question if I would ever use you for future tours.

PS: we recently completed a GLOBUS tour to Italy.
