Trafalgar

We recently returned from the European Spotlight Tour. Our tour guide, M.J. was amazing and did a wonderful job. This is our 2nd Trafalgar Tour and 3rd European Tour. Unfortunately this will be our last bus tour with Trafalgar. A couple arrived sick and coughed all over the bus. Their selfish act resulted in 1/2 the bus getting sick including my wife and I. The 2nd half of our tour was highlighted by fever, coughing etc... The highlight was having fevers while floating on a gondola in Venice. Not exactly a Kodak moment! Being on a tour bus in the middle of Europe sick is the worst case scenario which we will never repeat. If you have a strong immune system go for it, as for us, I refuse to "roll the dice" and hope another selfish couple doesn't arrive coughing and hacking. The bus is an incubator if someone shows up sick and will ruin your trip. Trafalgar is an excellent company if you have a strong immune system. The company is excellent, the selfish travelers that show up sick will ruin it. If you are sick...Stay home and don't ruin everyone else's hard earned vacation!!!!!

We did the Costsaver London to Rome and for the price I think they did a good job. Most of the hotels were nice. The ones in Lucerne and Venice were great local hotels. Yes, the one in Lucerne had no AC but I understood why. The included dinners were pretty good too. Breakfasts weren't my favorite along the way with the exception of the Hilton in London. Lunches on the travel days were gas stations which was a bummer. The schedule was BUSY! The optionals were mostly great and seriously helped beat the lines!

Will only travel by trafalgar next time.

Approximately a year and a half ago our family suffered a tremendous loss and the pain that accompanied the loss is still, on most days, unbearable. I honestly didn’t want to go but, in the end my husband and family convinced me to take the trip. I’m so happy now we went and one of the reasons is our Travel Director Jason Simpson.

Jason was truly wonderful! It’s worth mentioning I rarely use that word to describe things but, in this case it is warranted. He made our trip unforgettable from the very first day! His enthusiasm and positive outlook everyday was contagious and never wavered! He has no doubt set the bar extremely high for all future vacations and one of the reasons we will be taking other trips! I truly hope Trafalgar appreciates what a great asset Jason is to your company and he is not taken for granted.

In addition, we would be remiss if we did not mention our terrific bus driver Sebastian. Not once did either my husband, who never relinquishes the driving responsibility, or I feel unsafe. And as you probably know we traveled a great deal in that large bus. Sebastian is not only an excellent driver but, a true gentleman.

My husband and I look forward to hopefully many more trips and will make sure to tell all our family and friends what a great experience we had with Trafalgar and your employees.

We just returned from the Imperial Europe tour and the experience was about as perfect as it could get. Our tour guide Wolfgang and driver Imi were excellent and really made our entire experience so very special.

The itinerary was well planned and while some days flew by quickly (which is par for the course when you try to hit up five countries in essentially 9 days) we really felt like we covered a lot of ground and managed to spend a good amount of time visiting key sites while also feeling like we got a nice sense of the culture of the countries we visited (Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and briefly .. Slovakia).

We also did all of the optional experiences and they really made a huge difference to the overall experience. During our tour it seemed like most of our group did the same as us. The experiences were worth every penny as they really took us on great tours of major landmarks and allowed us to experience local food in a way we wouldn't have been able to on our own.

To be honest, I've never been much of a guy who went on organized tours, but this one was extremely well-planned. Our tour director Wolfgang did a phenomenal job keeping everyone updated on what was next and also facilitated things nicely so that nobody was ever really late to the bus. Our program also allowed us to get a reasonable amount of rest between all the hustle and bustle.

I will most likely plan a future trip with Trafalgar based on my recent experience.

My wife Brenda and I just returned from the Prague, Vienna and Budapest tour March 25th - April 3rd.

The cities were beautiful and our Travel Director Dean Smart was fabulous in sharing both his knowledge and excitement in discovering the gems within the various locations.

During this trip I had the opportunity to meet relatives for the first time in Budapest and I truly appreciate Dean offering his services if needed to help with communications. As it turns out, things went smoothly with my family visit but it was comforting to know that Dean was there willing to help make this a trip I'd never forget. My wife has been on several tours with Trafagar and this was my first; hopefully many more in the future!!!

We took the Best of Ireland and Scotland tour it was beyond amazing.

Our director Steph and our 2 bus drivers helped us all to see these countries in a way we never imagined. The details were taken care of with great love. As per anything little things always happen and they looked after it all without hesitation.
You had a bus full of 45 very different personalities and most of left as new found friends.

Our next adventure will be Highlights of Eastern Europe, hopefully next year!!

Trafalgar Travel canceled our 16 day trip just 1 1/2 weeks after we finished paying for the trip. We had booked the trip 4 months earlier. Cost us a couple thousand dollars out of pocket for nonrefundable travel insurance and flight changes.

Dominated by visits to church after church with the attendant extensive history lesson. Yes we know there is a long history to this part of the world, but did we hear anything of the Spain & Portugal of today - No, nothing.

The hotels were generally third rate. We were booked to be in a 5 star one in Valamoura, but when we got there, lo and behold we were delivered to a dump that was due to close. The mens toilet in reception area stunk of stale urine.

Trafalgar has given no explanation for the change! They must have saved a lot of our money by changing us to this dump instead of the advertised hotel. Most of the optional tours were grossly overpriced and we were required to book and pay for these at the beginning of the tour when we had little information on them. Almost all consisted of another overpriced, extensive history lessonBreakfast, so important to start the day, was in many cases lacking in any reasonable choice. On rare occasions when there was some free time, the hotel was situated well away from city centre making it difficult in a strange city to sightsee or shop.

The coach was comfortable elnough, the driver skilled and very safe. The tour director a nice person but totally lacking in ability to convey any insight into the Spain & Portugal of today.

We had a fantastic time in the Grand Italian experience. Our tour director was so personable and funny, not to mention a wealth of knowledge! One hotel used was not up to the standards of all the others but I understand that TRAFALGAR isn't using it again.

Bad weather canceled one boat ride but that couldn't be helped. I do wish their groups weren't so big but I won't mark them down for that because it didn't hinder me in any way.

We just came back from our London to Rome 11day tour, and honeymoon and we had lots of fun!!

We thought it was very rush in the beginning but now we are glad it was because, we got to see so much in a very short amount of time!!!

4 countries in 11days, plus our tourguide Julie was great!!!

Just returned from our tour National Parks Wonders and just want to give JP Smith an excellent mark for his job as Tour Director.

His personality, and good humor plus knowledge of the National Parks was outstanding.
We had a wonderful time and keep looking at all our pictures taken, so beautiful.

We just returned from the Wonders of Britain and Ireland tour. It was our first ever land tour and will do it again. Our tour guide Konrad Wolkowinski was superb. He made the trip memorable and fun. His knowledge of the areas was endless. The driver, Stuart, was excellent. His skill in handling the coach was remarkable. His skill at turning corners, parking, averting disaster is unsurpassed.

We felt very secure and safe in their hands. The tour itself was fantastic. The landscape, the weather, the different venues to see is all inspiring. We recommend this trip to any and all who wish to see and learn about our friends across the pond!
