Day 1 : ARRIVE IN LONDON, ENGLAND.

ARRIVE IN LONDON, ENGLAND. Check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you may want to start exploring the lively British capital. Uniformed hosts are available to help you make the most of your stay.

    Day 2 : LONDON.

LONDON. A full day to savor our rich program of optional activities: take a panoramic tour of London’s landmarks, visit the Tower of London, or choose an excursion to Windsor Castle. Tonight, how about dinner followed by a leisurely cruise on the Thames River? (B)

    Day 3 : LONDON–PARIS, FRANCE.

LONDON–PARIS, FRANCE. Board the EUROSTAR TRAIN to Paris with your Tour Director. Spend two nights in Paris. (B)

    Day 4 : PARIS.

PARIS. Paris is a world-class city with more familiar landmarks than almost any other city in the world. This morning, see these sites during the included city tour with a Local Guide. This evening, why not join an optional Parisian dinner? (B)

    Day 5 : PARIS–LUCERNE AREA, SWITZER...

PARIS–LUCERNE AREA, SWITZERLAND. Fascinating, ever-changing scenery greets you today. Enjoy views of Fontainebleau Forest, the wine-growing area of Burgundy, prosperous farms, and tidy, half-timbered villages as you head through the alpine heart of Switzerland to the picture-book Lucerne area. (B,D)

    Day 6 : LUCERNE AREA.

LUCERNE AREA. One of Switzerland’s finest cities, Lucerne is nestled amid its snowcapped Alps, surrounded by its lake, and graced by the clear mountain waters of the Reuss River. The orientation includes the LION MONUMENT, erected in memory of the 800 Swiss Guards who defended Louis XVI and his wife. Also admire the famous wooden CHAPEL BRIDGE with its splendid frescoes. A selection of optional activities completes the day: a cable-car ride to the 10,000-foot summit of Mount Titlis; a cruise on the fjord-like lake; and, of course, time to shop for an authentic Swiss watch. (B)

    Day 7 : LUCERNE AREA–VERONA, ITALY–...

LUCERNE AREA–VERONA, ITALY–VENICE AREA. More wonderful alpine scenery awaits as you drive into the mountain ranges that surround the massive St. Gotthard Pass. Once through its great tunnel, start your scenic descent into the warmer and sunnier ambiance of Canton Ticino, then cross into Italy and drive through the Lombardy plains to Romeo and Juliet’s Verona, known as “Little Rome” for its splendid amphitheater still standing in its former glory. Overnight in the Venice area. (B)

    Day 8 : VENICE AREA.

VENICE AREA. Venice is more like a marvelous film set than a real-life city, with criss-crossing canals, gondolas and water buses, arched bridges, palaces, and busy little piazzas. Your orientation starts with a BOAT RIDE to St. Mark’s Square and is followed by a chance to watch Venetian GLASSBLOWERS fashion their delicate objects as they did centuries ago. Don’t miss out on the optional gondola trip, gliding along the picturesque canals with a local troubadour to serenade you. (B,D)

    Day 9 : VENICE AREA–FLORENCE–MONTEC...

VENICE AREA–FLORENCE–MONTECATINI. Travel south across the Apennines into the gentle and hilly countryside of Tuscany. Enjoy a guided walk through Florence to discover its Renaissance treasures, then continue to Montecatini for an overnight. (B,D)

    Day 10 : MONTECATINI–PISA–ROME.

MONTECATINI–PISA–ROME. This morning in Pisa, hop on a mini-train to see the famed SQUARE OF MIRACLES and to view the Leaning Tower. Then, journey south to Rome. Tonight, consider an optional evening drive through the city—a floodlit spectacular of shimmering fountains, magnificent churches, and piazzas—followed by dinner. (B)

    Day 11 : ROME.

ROME. The “Eternal City” is steeped in history, vibrantly alive and exciting, and absolutely unique! Included sightseeing with a Local Guide starts with St. Peter’s Square and Basilica. Other highlights are the iconic Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built and Circus Maximus. An optional visit is available to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, world famous for Michelangelo’s impressive fresco of The Last Judgment. (B)

    Day 12 : ROME.

ROME. Arrivederci, Roma. Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning. (B)

It would be nicer if the tour bus provided more sightseeing in places like Paris and Rome. So little time was spent showing the group around while on the bus. Optional excursions were pricey.

It was our first time to go to Europe and we enjoyed every place we have visited. My daughters had so much fun they want to go back. Kudos to our tour director Maria and our driver Ferdinando.

I travelled solo on this trip. The hotel in London was nice but there was not much support from Cosmos staff there, in fact, they seemed disinterested and were not helpful at all, simply pointing toward where the subway station was. They told me that they were not enough people from my group for them to arrange any excursions, but I found out later that my entire group was in the hotel and that some, when insistent, were able to get excursions. London was wonderful though, and the subway was easy enough. It is a very clean and picturesque city and I was able to take in a show at night. On to Paris where the caberet show was fabulous as was the group dinner, I was glad I signed up for both. Our tour guide Clara, went out of her way to bring us to see the sights, including the Eiffel Tower at night when it sparkles for five minutes each hour. Lucerne was beautiful; and the trip up into the Alps was breathtaking. This is also a very clean safe city easy to navigate about on your own. The hotel here was quaint and very nice in that you could walk anywhere and was close to the lake and shopping. This was not the case of the Hotel Poppy outside Venice, which did not have heat, and electrical outlets were scarce. Venice itself was magical and again, Clara ensured that we saw all of the sights and had plenty of free time. I also took the gondola ride and the trip to Burano, both well worth the time and expense. Time was limited in Florence, but the hotel in Montecatini was probably the best, and the town is very nice. I could have stayed here longer. There is so much to see and do in Rome, you really only get to see the highlights, but we did a lot and Clara took us on a great walk around at night after our dinner. We also travelled to Castel Gandolfo, another scenic and very special small town atop a hill overlooking a lake where the pope spends his weekends.

Overall, Clara made our trip special; she is informative, organized, and attends to all the details. Her pleasant demeanor made the trip very enjoyable. She went out of her way to make sure we saw and did as much as possible. The bus was comfortable the driver Stephano was flawless. I would recommend this trip to someone who wants an overview of some of the highlights of Europe. I especially appreciated that we stayed two nights in most all of the places, which made it less hectic and allowed us to see more in each place. It is a fast moving trip though, so be prepared to be up early and on the go, which is what I had wanted.

Expectations were fairly high and they were still exceeded. We considered this the best trip we have ever taken and my wife and I have zero complaints.
