Day 3 HURGHADA

We'll leave for a full-day excursion to Thebes—the ancient capital of the Pharaohs—to visit Luxor and the Valley of the Kings (lunch included; an approximate 16-hour tour with nine hours of round-trip travel). The Valley of the Kings is one of ancient Egypt's top tourist destinations. Located on the west bank of the River Nile, the isolated valley is dominated by a great pyramid-shaped mountain. The area has been the site of royal burials for almost 4,000 years and includes the tombs of Seti I and II; Ramesses III, IV, VII, and IX; Siptah; Tausert-Setnakht; and Merenptah. You'll be able to visit three with your entry ticket, including the well-preserved tomb of Seti 1. The final resting places for these great pharaohs remain one of the most impressive sites to visit in the world. Further along, dominating the eastern bank, sits the 59-foot high (18 m) Colossi of Memnon—faceless effigies sitting on thrones that are the ruins of the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. We'll also visit the Karnak Temple Complex. At the heart of this site stands the colossal Precinct of Amun-Re, enclosing a sacred lake that priests used in purification ceremonies before performing rituals in the temple.

Day 5 SUEZ

Set out on a full-day excursion to Cairo (lunch included; approx. 10.5 hours total, including four hours round-trip travel). The morning will be dedicated to a tour following the footsteps of the Pharaohs. The Giza pyramid complex is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: The "Great Pyramid of Giza." At its sides sit the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, as well as the Great Sphinx of Giza. Afterwards, we'll visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo. This exceptional museum, located in an impressive neoclassical building, opened its doors in 1902. At that time, it only contained about 12,000 pieces. Today, the museum owns the greatest collection of Egyptian archaeological history in the world. Among the objects you'll discover are rare statues, paintings, and funeral elements. Within the Royal Mummy Room, you'll see the enveloped remains of some of the most famous pharaohs. After our exciting day, we'll return to Suez.

Day 7 EILAT

This morning, we'll set off on an excursion to visit Timna Park. The rugged Timna Valley holds some of the oldest copper mines in the world—dating back as early as 4500 BC. The spectacular red rock formations have been carved by the elements over thousands of years. Its mining history means excavations have unearthed unique collections of artifacts.ORFull-day excursion: Masada and the Dead Sea (lunch included; approx. 11 hours total, including five hours round-trip travel). The ancient fortification of Masada sits on a plateau on the edge of the Judaean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. The natural fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of the ancient kingdom of Israel. Herod the Great built two palaces on the mountain in the last century BC. Jewish zealots conquered the site in 68 AD at the beginning of the revolt against the Roman Empire. In 73 AD, the zealots fought back against a siege. They eventually lost, but their battle remains a modern symbol of the struggle for freedom. After our visit, we'll head over to a hotel on the edge of the Dead Sea for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing by the poolside or in the rich, mineral-filled waters of the sea. We'll cruise towards Aqaba throughout the night.

You'll be dazzled by the spectacular colors of the barren lands, seeing them change according to the radiance of the sunlight as the day progresses. The Bedouins that inhabit the Wadi Rum are well known for their hospitality. Under their tent, you'll be invited to enjoy tea and delicious specialties of their local cuisine.Tonight is our festive Christmas Eve soirée.

Day 9 AQABA

Join us for a full-day excursion to Petra (lunch included; approx. 10 hours total, including four hours round-trip travel). Petra is unquestionably one of the greatest marvels ever constructed and is considered one of Jordan's national treasures. Carved into the pink and red stone by the Nabataeans—an Arab people living in Jordan over 2000 years ago—Petra, meaning "rock" in Greek, was strategically located at the junction of the silk and spice trade routes. To enter the city, we will follow the "siq," a narrow gorge approximately one kilometer in length, delimited by sharp cliffs on either side—ending at Al Khazneh, the "Treasury." This Nabataean tomb has an impressive Hellenistic facade carved directly into the pink stone at the beginning of the 1st century. It is a masterpiece of refinement and symmetry, which on its own makes a visit to Petra worthwhile. You will also discover the Roman-style Nabataean theater carved into the rock over 2,000 years ago. We'll enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before returning to the ship in Aqaba.

Day 9 AQABA

We are still waiting for a refund for Porto Duoro Valley River Cruise 28 Sept 2020. We had to pay the total cost by June 2019 & opted for a refund less the non-refundable NZ$1100 deposit in early 2020. We are very frustrated that CroisiEurope is continuing to promote cruises for future passengers without honouring their contract with us. This is not the way to run an honest buisness!

As a travel agent, I try to find suppliers that have the service and ethics that I expect for my clients. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that CroisiEurope is not one of them. I received confirmation that the clients in the four cabins I had booked on the Oberammergau cruise would get a full refund in 3 - 4 weeks. The email contained attachments with the refund amount for each. Right at the beginning of the 4th week, they sent an email saying the law had changed and they no longer had to give refunds! That’s fine for those going forward, but to retroactive back to the clients that had already received refund confirmation is ridiculous. Some of these clients are in their 80’s and were only going for the once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Passion Play in Oberammergau. Having a credit for a future cruise does them no good nor can some afford to lose that money. Shame on you #croisieurope I as well as Cruise Planners home office will be letting the rest of Cruise Planners organization know this is no longer a vendor to use!

April 2020
I planned a 3 week vacation this April that included a 7 day, CroisiEurope cruise on the Rhine. Due to the pandemic, my flights, hotels and cruise were canceled by the respective companies. I got refunds for my hotels and flights, but not from CroisiEurope.

They finally agreed a month ago to give me a refund, but then a few days ago, I got an email that they are not going to honor their agreement and I no longer get a refund.

To make matters worse, I get a SPAM email from them offering "risk-free" cruises to new customers.

Here’s an excerpt of the email: “We understand that some of our guests might be hesitant about making a cruise reservation or traveling at this time. For this reason, Croisieurope has introduced a Risk-Free Guarantee. So that you can plan your journey with peace of mind, we guarantee to hold your 2020 cruise departure reservation without deposit, and wait for final settlement until 15 days prior to departure.”

So, for a new customers, CroisiEurope is willing to offer risk free travel, but customers that paid money and had their cruises canceled by CroisieEurope these past 2 months, we get no guarantee of anything and they will keep our money.

I think anyone considering a cruise with CroisiEurope should be very hesitant and consider another cruise company that will stand behind its customer. I can’t recommend them since they are solely focused on acquiring new customers and don’t care about their existing customers, especially once they have taken their money.
