India Photography Safari with Paul Goldstein

Overview
Highlights (Bullets)
- One of the most important tiger reserves, Bandhavgarh N.P150 species of birds, leopards, deer, jungle cats and wild dogs
- Great rocky hills, lush deciduous forests
Short Description
At only 437 sq. km. Bandhavgarh is one of the smaller National Parks made up of grasslands, birch forests and bamboo that provide cover for the plentiful indigenous wildlife. In common with many other parks, Bandhavgarh is home to a wide variety of game including leopard, sloth bear, gaur, sambar, chital, jungle cat, wild pig and of course tiger. The healthy population of approximately 60-70 animals means that this park has the highest tiger density of any of India's reserves. Aside from the game and the tigers, the park also plays host to up to 150 species of birds including many on the migratory trail, such as the Steepe eagle. This trip is all about taking the time to not only see some incredible wildlife but to capture those once in a lifetime images that will bring back memories for years to come. You will be sharing this experience with fellow photography enthusiasts and our own expert Paul Goldstein. Conservationist and photographer, Paul is the man to help you improve your photography skills. His love of wildlife has resulted in three stunning books of his most memorable images to date. Our local leader Himanshu Bagde will also share his infectious enthusiasm for India's wildlife while ensuring your trip runs smoothly. Flight Inclusive
Day 1 Arrival in Delhi; fly onwards to Jabalpur; transfer to Bandhavgarh

Day 2 Morning safari; afternoon free at our resort or optional cricket match.
An early start for our first morning safari in Bandhavgarh National Park. Gates open at 5.30am and your leader will advise wake up time and breakfast arrangements which will either be a packed breakfast to take into the park or on return from the safari. Tea/coffee and biscuits are provided before we drive to the park. After the safari there is free time or you may like to participate in or watch a very special cricket match. For a number of years Exodus and Friends of Conservation have been heavily sponsoring the local school in Tala which is adjacent to Bandhavgarh. To celebrate this initiative there will be a cricket match/festival this afternoon which Exodus is sponsoring. It would be great to have some experienced players to join the teams however spectators all welcome. The match will be played in the school grounds and although it is not an overly serious affair it is a huge event for the village and the school children. The park is closed this afternoon so we are not missing out on any game drives. This cricket match is part of Paul Goldstein's 'Worth More Alive' campaign which focuses on the protection of Bengal Tigers. 2020 marks 10 years since he first ran the London Marathon in his - now legendary - tiger suit to raise money for these vunerable animals. Along with sponsoring the match Exodus will be providing a donation to 'Worth More Alive'. This donation will go towards re-building and equipping two schools in Bandhavgarh. By providing 1,000 local children with an education effectively underwritten by conservation the message Paul hopes to get across is the benefits of protecting their striped neighbours. As Paul says, "Unless local people - including children - are feeling any benefits why should they bother protecting them."Nature Heritage Resort
