Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Stockholm, Sweden!

Welcome to the Kingdom of Sweden! Arrive in Stockholm, a city surrounded by almost 30,000 small islands. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

A great start would be in the city's old town, Gamla Stan, an islet that's one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe. The narrow winding cobblestone streets and gold-hued buildings give Gamla Stan its unique character.

Transfer to Stockholm hotel

Day 2: Stockholm - Riga, Latvia

Meet your tour leader and a local guide at reception for your 3-hour tour of Stockholm. Discover the beauty of this Baltic archipelago, and if time allows, visit the Vasa Museum to see a real-life Viking ship from the 17th century! In the afternoon, transfer to the Stockholm harbor and board your overnight cruise to Riga.

Overnight cruise from Stockholm to Riga

Guided Stockholm City Tour (3 hours)

Known as Beauty on Water and Venice of the North, Stockholm is a city built upon 14 islands, surrounded by Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. Its grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tells Stockholm's 700-year-old history beautifully. During your sightseeing tour, you will visit the Gamla Stan (Old town), where you will be charmed by cobblestone streets, crooked yet beautifully preserved buildings, the Royal Palace, gothic churches, plus excellent cafés, bars, restaurants and Swedish design shops.

Day 3: Riga

Today, have a full day exploring Riga! Enjoy a guided tour taking you to the city's main sights like Riga Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, House of Blackheads and Central Market.

After your tour, consider visiting one of Riga's great museums like the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia or the Latvian National Museum of Art. Come dinnertime, try a popular Latvian dish known as karbonade, which is similar to schnitzel.

Guided Riga City Tour - 3 hours

The largest city in the three Baltic states, Riga is an exciting cultural hub and an undiscovered gem in Europe. On this tour, see the traditional wooden houses of the Hanse merchants, the oldest dating from the 15th century and the 19th century. Riga is also known for its perfectly preserved Art Nouveau buildings in the pedestrian-only Old Town, as well as an array of museums, concert halls, markets and churches.

Day 4: Riga - Tallinn, Estonia

Say goodbye to Riga as you head to the capital of Estonia, Tallinn.  A medieval enclave perched on top of a hill overlooking the Baltic Sea, Tallinn feels like a well-kept secret.

Explore the remains of the medieval battlements and towers, Protestant churches, and the narrow, cobbled streets. Feel the city come alive in the old square, which is animated by restaurants, shops, the passing of the little blue train and horse-drawn carriages.

Day 5: Tallinn - Helsinki, Finland

Wake up to beautiful Tallinn and explore its Old Town on a guided tour. If time allows, let yourself wander through the cobbled lanes.

In the afternoon, depart on a short cruise from Tallinn to Helsinki. Upon arrival in Helsinki, settle into your hotel then perhaps head out into the city to get acquainted with Finnish life.

Cruise from Tallinn to Helsinki on Tallink Silja Line

Guided Tallin City Tour - 3 hours

The heart of Tallinn is the Old Town, which is divided into two very distinctive parts: Toompea Hill and the lower town, centered on Raekoja plats (Town Hall Square) and a 1.5-mile fortified wall. On this tour, see Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Toompea Castle (home to the Estonian Parliament), Town Hall Square, House of the Blackheads, St. Olaf's Church and St. Nicholas' Church.

Day 6: Helsinki - Stockholm, Sweden

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then embark on a 3-hour guided sightseeing tour of Helsinki. After the tour, spend some time on your own. Head to Kamppi shopping district or one of the city's many pretty parks. In the late afternoon, board your overnight cruise to Stockholm.

Overnight cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm

Guided Helsinki City Tour - 2 hours

Start your Helsinki sightseeing tour at Senaatintori (Senate Square) surrounded by magnificent Neoclassical architectur. Right around the corner near the harbor, you will find the Kauppatori, the picturesque market square characterized by an abundance of flowers, fruit and busy vendors.

Temppeliaukio Church is your next stop. Built in the 19th century, the church is one of the top attractions in Helsinki because it is carved into the natural bedrock and features an impressive copper dome. Due to its excellent acoustics, the church is a popular venue for concerts. One of the last stops is Uspenski Cathedral, a striking red-brick, neo-Byzantine cathedral on Katajanokka Island.

Day 7: Stockholm

Spend your last day in Sweden surrounded by vast expanses of forests and verdant meadows on the central, two-mile-long island of Djurgarden. Once you've breathed in the fresh clean air, head back into the city and pick up a few souvenirs.

After touring Stockholm to your heart's content, tuck into a plate of comforting Swedish meatballs!

Day 8: Depart Sweden

Enjoy some last minute shopping in Stockholm before enjoying a transfer to the airport for your flight home. Bid Scandinavia and the Baltics goodbye!

We had a trip through them this past Spring Break and it was not the best experience. The flight and rental car pick up went smooth, but as soon as we got to our first hotel (our trip included a road trip that had a stay in 2 locations), they did not have our reservation. We had to sit in the lobby for an hour while they got it straightened out. That hotel, while in a good location, was like staying on the inside of a motel 6. I read reviews for the hotel and they reflected our experience as well...I'm assuming GVV does not read reviews before they partner with hotels. Long story short, we have almost $300 credit with them we are not even going to use because it is not worth it. I do all the research and read reviews when I travel places and have never had a bad experience like this. I do not recommend.

If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. While I understand that Covid has happened it has now been over a year since my trip was supposed to have started. Great value no longer offers trips to the country I booked. They refuse to do anything but offer credit for another trip and keep extending the date to use by. I don’t want to go travel somewhere else. I purchased a specific trip to Australia if they can’t deliver what I purchased they should return my money

Choose regional Brooklyn. They MUST be dealt with legally. ALL of us writing in will make the AG take legal action.

Anyone who has dealt with this company KNOWS by reading any of these 5 star reviews that they are NOT real. Who took in a trip in 2020 for one? Total Frauds! I hope someone goes to prison for the fraud they are perpetrating.
