  • The Dublin Pass (2 Days)

Short Description

Begin in Dublin, Ireland's vibrant capital! Here you can explore historic castles, have a pint at Ireland's oldest pub, or discover its history rooted in rebellion.

You'll then continue onto Galway, Ireland's "most Irish" city. Spend days shopping for handmade goods, sampling homemade treats, or exploring the surrounding natural wonders. Take a stroll through the cobblestone streets and visit St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church and Galway Cathedral. In the evenings, Galway's lively nightlife beckons!

Complete your getaway in Dublin. Do some shopping on Grafton Street, grab a pint at Temple Bar, or simply stroll through St. Stephen's Green. Included with your vacation is a 2-day Dublin Pass, granting you free entry to over 33 of Dublin's most famous sights, as well as access to a Hop-On/Hop-Off bus pass. You'll see the best of Dublin and Galway with this getaway!

VERY IMPORTANT: The Irish Rail vouchers must be printed out prior to your travel time.  You will take the printed out vouchers to the booking office at each station you depart from (Heuston Station in Dublin and Ceannt Station in Galway) and will be given an actual rail ticket.  The vouchers may only be exchanged at the booking office.

Itinerary

Day 1 Welcome to Dublin!

Arrive in the vibrant capital city of Dublin! Once you're settled you may want to take advantage of the included hop-on/hop-off bus; hop off and explore Christ Church Cathedral and St. Patrick's Cathedral, or see the eyes through the Vikings at Dublinia.

Celebrate your first night in Ireland by treating yourself to an authentic Irish meal, or a pint at Ireland's oldest pub - the Brazen Head!

Day 2 Dublin

Continue using your Dublin Pass today. Take a deep dive into the drinking culture of Ireland by exploring the factories of your favorite Irish sips and spirits!

You can pay a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, or discover the secrets of a fully-functioning whiskey factory at the Teeling Whiskey Distillery.

Day 3 Dublin - Galway

Next, you'll board the comfortable Irish Rail at Heuston Station in Dublin and head to Galway. Be sure to look out the window during your ride as you'll get scenic views of the picturesque Irish countryside!

Celebrate your first night in Galway by treating yourself to a platter of their most famous locally-caught dish: oysters!

Day 4 Galway

While in the eclectic city of Galway you are going to be within walking distance of the stunning St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church and the Galway Cathedral. Take advantage of the bustling art scene and pop into a gallery or two.

In the evening, consider paying a visit to the nearby village of Doolin, Ireland's home of traditional Irish music for a truly authentic experience.

Day 5 Galway

Today, consider taking the ferry from Galway out to the Aran Islands! Explore scenic cliffs, ancient ruins, and hear Gaelic spoken by locals throughout. This cluster of three islands is known for its karst landscape, dating back to prehistoric times.

Day 6 Galway - Dublin

Today you'll board the luxurious Irish Rail in Galway for one last ride back to Dublin.

Use today to visit the religious highlights of the city, including Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and St. Stephen's Green. Walking this city is the best way to get the most authentic experience.

Time willing, you can also visit Grafton Street and do some last-minute souvenir shopping or check out the famous former-prison, Kilmainham Gaol.

Day 7 Depart Ireland

In accordance with your departure flight, make your way to Dublin airport (DUB) for your flight home.

There were six of us all traveling together which I had made clear when I called GVV. Our tour did not include transfers, which was not made known to us. Can you imagine 6 old ladies winding up in a foreign country trying to find out how to get to their hotels, train stations, etc., what a disaster! You also had us traveling on different times on the trains between cities which was not brought to our attention and was a disaster.

I hate to give bad reviews, but if this review will help in better customer service, it’s worth a try.

Booking travel deals online can be hectic because you don’t have a direct contact person. You call a 800- number if there is a issue and you get who you get.
I had an issue with my PNR number not working when it was time to
Check in for the plane and because it took me almost 2 hours when I finally got checked in, we were the last seats on the very back of the airplane. Well you deal with it because you’re going to Hawaii.. just happy to have a seat.it was frustrating calling the airlines and I was directed back to Great Value ..
We got that issue resolved.
Now we get to the hotel and was told the daily resort fee was double the amount that we were quoted.
The quote we were given verbally over the phone was $29.98 and when we got to the resort it was 59.98 . It wasn’t a issue with the price , it’s the inconsistency of getting the correct info when you call and it’s not explained thoroughly in the paper work, and hotels aren’t to kind when you book thru 3rd party contracts. It appears everything is a good price but you are on the bottom of the totem pole for everything .. plane rides .. very last group and seat , back of the hotel airport bag fees.. not so sure this was a great value and no one cares after they get your money . I’m still waiting for a Manager to call me back and my vacation is over

Overall, this was a very nice trip. The hotels were all good quality and the train departure times were good. My only complaint was that while the hotel in Budapest was very nice, it was pretty far from all the sites we wanted to visit. The other hotels were in good locations. The value of the package was excellent.
