Day 1 : HANOID

Delve into the frenetic energy of Vietnam after arriving in Hanoi, and meet your fellow travellers and Tour Leader (or local guide).Hotel: The Ann Hanoi (or similar)

Day 2 : HANOI TO SAPAV

Visit the Ethnology Museum to learn about the 53 ethnic groups that live in Vietnam, and gain an understanding of the traditional customs and way of life of these groups. Drive five hours up to Sapa, enjoying spectacular mountain scenery along the way.Hotel: Sapa Highland Resort (or similar)

Day 3 : SAPA&

Enjoy a guided tour of Sapa town and visit the colourful local market where you will have your first glimpses of the colourfully dressed minority groups. Embark on a light trek to Ta Van Hoa Valley, admiring the beautifully terraced rice paddy fields and stunning vistas. Meet friendly Black H’mong villagers and observe daily life.Hotel: Sapa Highland Resort (or similar)

Day 4 : LECH VILLAGET

Travel south out of Sapa town and trek to Lech Village. The village is situated in a picturesque area of the Sapa region and is home to one of the area’s most colourful minority communities, the Red Dzao hilltribe. The Red Dzao women shave their heads, eyebrows and wear bright red turbans, and are well-known for their local medicines and embroidery skills. Stay overnight at Topas Ecolodge, a unique property built and operated using sustainable principles, and employing local people. The magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valley are a highlight. In the evening, enjoy a farewell group dinner to celebrate a memorable experience in Sapa.Hotel: Topas Ecolodge (or similar)

Experience tour with Insider Journeys

We have just returned from a 10 night Cambodian Experience tour with Insider Journeys from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. The tour provided an excellent overview of the country, people and culture as well as a range of experiences including tuk tuks, boat trips, cyclos, temples, pagodas and of course outstanding food experiences and tasting. Accommodation was always comfortable and clean and transport well maintained. Each day was different from the last, covering from the stark reality of the killing fields to the magnificent Angkor Wat. Free time was available for exploring as well. Our guide Virak was knowlegeable, friendly, accommodating and passionate about his country and contributed greatly to our overall positive experience. The highlights of course were Angkor Wat and the nearby temples, the home stay experience, the Cambodian people and of course the delicious food. If you want to see a broad cross section of Cambodia this tour is a great choice.
