Day 1 : Delhi
DelhiOn arrival in Delhi, transfer to your hotel, and meet your fellow travellers and Tour Leader (or local guide).Hotel: Maidens Hotel (or similar)
Day 2 : Delhi City Tour
Begin your exploration of Delhi’s must-see sites including the elegant, Moghua-era Humayun’s Tomb – the precursor to the Taj Mahal, followed by Rajpath which is home to India’s government buildings, President’s residence and India Gate. Continue to Old Delhi and take a bicycle rickshaw to explore the chaotic alleys of Chandni Chowk, discover Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in India, and stroll along one of the area’s most famous food streets where you can sample delicacies including freshly-baked naan and samosas. Visit a communal kitchen at a Sikh temple and watch volunteers prepare free meals for thousands of devotees who visit the temple daily.Hotel: Maidens Hotel (or similar)
Day 3 : Delhi to Agra
Drive to Agra and explore the imposing fort that was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565. Catch your first glimpses of the domes of the Taj Mahal from the Fort’s ramparts. In the afternoon, visit a marble inlay workshop to see the intricate craftsmanship and skill required to make each finely-detailed piece.Hotel: DoubleTree by Hilton Agra (or similar)
Day 4 : Agra to Ranthambore National Park
See the Taj Mahal at dawn, one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. Enter through the West Gate with its archway framing and revealing the beauty of the Taj. Spend time exploring the main tomb, pavilions and gardens before returning to your hotel for a late breakfast. Drive through the distinct landscape of the Rajasthan countryside to Sawaii Madhopur, home to Ranthambore National Park. Marvel at the rugged wilds of the national park from the rooftop of your safari lodge.Hotel: Fort Nahargarh (or similar)
Day 5 : Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National ParkRise early for a game drive through Ranthambore National Park, home to a host of wildlife including deer, jackal, hyena, leopard and its much-celebrated tigers. Enjoy a late breakfast, visit a women’s cooperative that makes handicrafts, and in the late afternoon, embark on a second game drive where you have another opportunity to see tigers.Hotel: Fort Nahargarh (or similar)
Day 6 : Ranthambore National Park to Jaipur
Depart Ranthambore National Park for Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital and one of her most iconic and colourful cities, affectionately called the ‘Pink City’. Arrive in Jaipur and enjoy a walking tour of the royal observatory. Jaipur offers excellent shopping opportunities and this afternoon, there’s free time for you to explore the town’s popular bazaar street where you can pick up handicrafts, jewellery, fabrics and much more. This evening, you have the option of joining your Tour Leader (or local guide) to watch a Bollywood movie in one of India’s finest Art Deco cinemas.Hotel: Shahpura House (or similar)
Day 7 : Jaipur City Tour
Visit a traditional milk market and admire the façade of the Hawa Mahal, designed for the royal ladies to watch the processions and daily life of the city without being seen themselves. Stop at a local tea shop and sample possibly the best chai in Jaipur. Continue to the impressive Amber Fort located atop a mountain, and spend a few hours discovering the beautiful architecture and decoration of the buildings. Return to town and visit a carpet-weaving and batik-printing workshop before going on a guided walking tour of Jaipur bazaar. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with a local family in their historic haveli home.Hotel: Shahpura House (or similar)
Day 8 : Jaipur
