SafariItinerary
Day 1 Alice Springs
Welcome to rough and ready, but decidedly charming, Alice Springs. Get the adventure underway with a visit to a working camel farm (and perhaps with a ride on one of these iconic creatures). Hop to it exploring the 36 domes of Kata Tjuta on a Valley of the Winds hike, then watch the sun set over ginormous Uluru.
Day 2 Kings Canyon
Shake off the brisk morning air with a walk around the base of the world's biggest rock. Learn about the sacred significance of Uluru to the local Aboriginal people and admire their traditional arts and craft work at the Cultural Centre. Spend a night camped under the stars in Watarrka National Park.
Day 3 Kings Canyon
Trek along the crater rim of Kings Canyon, savouring the incredible views over the Amphitheatre, then descend into the canyon and discover the park's Lost City and Garden of Eden. The adventure winds up upon arrival back in Alice Springs.
Day 4 Daly Waters
Kick off this two-day adventure with a visit to the iconic Karlu Karlu, or 'Devils Marbles'. Hear the story behind the formation of these gigantic boulders before continuing on to Tennant Creek for lunch. In the evening visit a true blue Aussie pub, perhaps sharing a couple of beers with the friendly locals before camping out beneath the stars for an evening of peaceful outback solitude.
Day 5 Darwin
Start the day with an exploration of Nitmiluk National Park. Meaning the 'Place of the Cicada Dreaming' in the Jawoyn language, it’s a stunning place to explore. Take a short walk to Barrawei Lookout for an incredible view of Katherine Gorge before learning about the significance of this area to the Jawoyn people. Stop for a swim in the refreshing waters of Edith Falls before journeying to tropical Darwin, the Territory’s culture-rich capital city.
Day 6 Darwin
Enjoy a free day in Darwin to relax and soak up the atmosphere in this quirky Territory town.
Day 7 Darwin
Kick off this Kakadu adventure with a traditional welcome from the Limilngan–Wulna people. Learn about the culture and ancient history of this Indigenous tribe, then journey to the Mary River Wetlands, where saltwater crocodiles rule the waters. Arrive in Ubirr for a spectacular sunset and the chance to see Aboriginal rock art that’s thousands of years old.
Day 8 Kakadu
Take a boat cruise with a national park ranger through the chasm of a gorge to witness Twin Falls up close – the dwarfing magnitude of this chasm invokes the often startling realisation of just how small we really are. After lunch, hike to the base of Jim Jim Falls, where a swim or laze on the beach is an excellent way to wile away the afternoon.
Day 9 Darwin
Plunge into the refreshing waters of Maguk Gorge before working up a sweat hiking to the top of Gunlom Falls, where a series of swimming holes await your arrival. In the afternoon, head back to lively Darwin.

Experience of Egypt orchestrated by INTREPID
Uzbekistan
I was excited to visit a country on the Silk Road and it exceeded my expectations.
Terrific tour & an exceptional guide in Egypt
My destination was Egypt, but they also handled my flights to Botswana prior to the tour as well.
All flights went like clockwork and the tour was terrific.
The sites were amazing, but our guide's affable demeanor and extensive knowledge ensured that every step of the way was both educational and enjoyable. Moreover, he extended his support beyond the tour, tracking our well-being until we safely returned to our respective countries which added an extra layer of depth to the journey.
I will be most definitely be using Intrepid again and can highly recommend.
My review would be five stars plus except for the poison apples
The certified guide in the Galapagos on day two of our trip told me that recently a tourist couple without permits ate the apples and quickly died a painful death..so Intrepid needs to warn its customers that even touching the apple or the tree itself triggers a painful rash or worse...

Guides
All Intrepid group trips are accompanied by a group leader. In Australia your group leader is also your driver, taking you from start to finish in a specialised safari vehicle. The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. They will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, organise the camp and cooking for camp cooked meals (though passengers are required to help out) and recommend great local eating venues. They will also introduce you to our local friends along the way. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the areas visited on the trip, including historical, environmental, cultural and social aspects.
