Walk among the ruins of Masvingo, see rare rhinos in Matobo and feel the might of Victoria Falls. This is one wild ride through south-east Africa.
Itinerary
Day 1 Johannesburg
Arrive in Joburg and prepare for the adventure-filled days to come.
Day 2 Milwane National Park
Enjoy a guided bike ride through Milwane National Park, keeping an eye out for the abundant wildlife that lives here. Spend the night in traditional Swazi huts called beehives, one of the more unique modes of accommodation on the trip.
Day 3 Hlane National Park
Jump in an express taxi and make tracks to Hlane Royal National Park. Stay in the heart of the bush and go on a game walk to track elephants and rhinos on foot - a very cool experience.
Day 4 Maputo
Hop aboard a bus and then a chapa truck to get to Mozambique's attractive capital, Maputo. Check out this city at your own pace, perhaps indulging in its renowned seafood.
Day 5-6 Tofo
Continue on to Praia de Tofo a small town on the Indian Ocean Coast with a friendly laid-back vibe. Here we spend 2 nights in 'casitas' full of rustic charm.
Day 7 Maputo
Return to Maputo for another night in Mozambique’s vibrant capital.
Day 8-9 Kruger National Park
Travel to the South African border and push onwards to the incredible Kruger National Park. Embark on afternoon and morning game drives to spot Africa's remarkable animals, including the iconic Big Five.
Day 10 Louise Trichardt
En route to Louis Trichardt, stop in at the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre to meet some rescued animals.
Day 11 Masvingo
Catch a kombi to Masvingo, Zimbabwe's oldest colonial settlement. Visit the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, which are thought to be the ruins of a royal palace that dates back to the 11th century.
Day 12-13 Bulawayo
Following a fairly long travel day across the Zimbabwean landscape, reach Matobos National Park. Learn a little of the area’s distinguished local history, then set out in search of black and white rhinos on a 4x4 game drive.
Day 14-16 Victoria Falls
Travel on to Zimbabwe's adventure capital, Victoria Falls. With no shortage of activities and outings on offer, perhaps stick around for an extra day after the trip finishes up to try abseiling, canoeing or witness the rumble of the continent's biggest waterfall.

Response from customer services …
Cycling Sri Lanka with non stop smile
With Sri Lanka as our beautiful backdrop it might always be the case to have such an amazing time, but to come away with such understanding, knowledge and experience of history, flora, fauna, wildlife, custom, food, culture and politics is down to the incredible guide Sampath. If you book this trip and your guides are Sam and Kasun, you are very lucky - cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you
My credit card was charged for a trip not confirmed
Even if the reservation was not confirmed, Intrepid still charged my credit card on the same day for 2.216€, for which I had to pay a commission from my bank.
I requested several times to have the money back in to my account, but today I still did not receive a refund.
It's not acceptable for Intrepid to keep the money so many days for a reservation that didn't happen.
I saw the opinions on the trips, and they are good, so I would recommend to make any reservation trough an operator that don't debit you credit card when they cannot confirm the reservation, such as Tour Radar.
Don’t Book with Intrepid. They’re sexist.

OCCASIONAL ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION The style of accommodation indicated in the day-to-day itinerary is a guideline. On rare occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our usual accommodation. A similar standard of accommodation will be used in these instances. TWIN SHARE / MULTI SHARE BASIS Accommodation on this trip is on a twin/multishare basis. Please note there may be times where facilities will be shared rather than ensuite and rare occasions when you share a room with passengers travelling on different Intrepid trips than your own. CHECK-IN TIME Throughout the trip we request that our hotels prepare rooms in time for our arrival, especially if we're arriving prior to normal check-in time. However this isn't always possible which means we won't be able to check-in immediately on arrival at some hotels. Instead, we can store our luggage and explore our new destination. PRE/POST TRIP ACCOMMODATION If you've purchased pre-trip or post-trip accommodation (if available), you may be required to change rooms from your trip accommodation for these extra nights.Accommodation is clean and simple. You'll mainly stay in small, locally-run, 2-3 star hotels and guesthouses, which reflect the character of the area, generally these will be a twin room with private facilities. Sometimes you'll stay in larger, more comfortable hotels or occasionally rustic accommodation with basic facilities. We use a variety of accommodation on most trips; chosen for their value for money, location and atmosphere. We also try and incorporate unique accommodation experiences, such as a night with a local tribe, or sleeping under the stars in the desert.
Guides
All Intrepid group trips are accompanied by one of our group leaders. The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. Intrepid endeavours to provide the services of an experienced leader however, due to the seasonality of travel, rare situations may arise where your leader is new to a particular region or training other group leaders. Your leader will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the places visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. At Intrepid we aim to support local guides who have specialised knowledge of the regions we visit. If you were interested in delving deeper into the local culture at a specific site or location then your leader can recommend a local guide service in most of the main destinations of your trip.
Additional Information
Style descriptions
Our Original style trips have a great balance of included activities with your group and free time to explore independently. Where we stay ensures we keep our travellers firmly entrenched in a region’s people and culture, and provides them with unique local experiences that benefits the community too. In most locations we stay in simple tourist-class hotels (i.e. 2-3 stars), plus on many trips you'll also get to experience a night with a local family on a homestay or something a little different like a Bedouin camp in the Sahara. Original style trips come with all manner of transport modes and use a mixture of local and private transport. You might find yourself sailing in a dhow in Zanzibar, jumping on a rickshaw in Sri Lanka or sailing on a yacht through the Galapagos. No matter the mode, it's all about minimising our environmental impact and making getting around part of the adventure.
