Day 1 Havana
Welcome to the sultry capital of Cuba. The best way to see Havana's colonial buildings, elegant plazas, vintage cars and cigar-smoking musicians is by foot. Visit the Plaza de la Revolucion and pass giant monuments of the legendary Che Guevara and Jose Marti. The striking baroque facade of the Catedral de San Cristobal de la Habana is a must-see.
Day 2-3 Vinales
Tour the Cuban orchid gardens of Soroa en route to Vinales. One of Cuba's most attractive areas, the fertile valleys and distinctive limestone 'pincushion' hills surrounding Vinales are well worth exploring on a walking tour. Get into the groove with an introductory group salsa lesson and be welcomed on a homestay with a friendly local family.
Day 4-5 Trinidad
Take time to explore Trinidad's Spanish-style churches then head to Playa Ancon, a white, sandy beach where many hours slip lazily by. Alternatively, why not snorkel over Cuba's colourful underwater world or hire a bike for a relaxing pedal around town? Enjoy an Afro-Cuban folklore dance and music show then practise newly learned salsa moves at one of Trinidad's famous music venues.
Day 6 Cienfuegos
Journey to the port city Cubans call La Perla del Sur ('The Pearl of the South'). Stop by the Palacio del Valle, the architectural pride of Cienfuegos. For a local pick-me-up why not try a Cuban coffee? It's served strong, black and super sweet.
Day 7-8 Havana
Stop in at Santa Clara to visit the Mausoleo Che Guevara and learn about the legend and life of this famous revolutionary. Back in Havana, there is time for a final night of revelry. Anyone for some salsa?

Expect I'm not the only one
I did not receive so much as an email advising of changes in the cancellation policy, discovered when I contacted them to cancel.
I now receive automated emails/msgs as I attempt to work through this.
The email states I may contact them on 31 July to discuss the matter!....4 months away.
I'm absolutely stunned by how shoddy this outfit is....who knew?!
Out of pocket $4000.
Expect I'm not the only one.
Buyer beware

was an absolute pleasure
We recently completed the Jewels of Sri Lanka tour starting on 22 December 2019.
Our adventure in Sri Lanka with Peregrine tours was an absolute pleasure. Our guide Opasiri (Siri) apart from being knowledgeable and articulate in all aspects of his country and it’s history was also a genuinely nice bloke.
His helpfulness and sincere want to ensure all his guests on the tour were accommodated was a credit to him. He continually bent over backwards to ensure everyone had the best possible experience.
At this point we would like to say a personal Thankyou to Siri for making our stay in Sri Lanka a treasured memory.
All our destination points were of immense interest, either in religious, cultural or environmental aspects. We found the Sri Lankan people to be friendly, open and hospitable.
Highlights included seeing leopards in the wild, visiting Buddhist temples that are centuries old with such well preserved artefacts, ancient kingdoms, a beautiful train ride through the countryside and of course the amazing scenery of the central highlands.
Our recommendation for anyone wanting to explore Sri Lanka as we did is to go with Peregrine as you will not be disappointed. The hotel accommodation on all our overnight stays was to an excellent standard, the food is without question a gastronomic delight, with local “Lion” beer to an international standard.
A big istuti (thank you) Peregrine, Siri and his crew for giving us a wonderful and unforgettable Sri Lankan experience, we will be back.

Accommodations
Guesthouse (4 nts), Hotel (3 nts)
The style of accommodation indicated in the day-to-day itinerary is a guideline. On rare occasions, alternative arrangements may need to be made due to the lack of availability of rooms in our usual accommodation. A similar standard of accommodation will be used in these instances. Throughout the trip we request that our hotels prepare rooms in time for our arrival, especially if we're arriving prior to normal check-in time. However this isn't always possible which means we won't be able to check-in immediately on arrival at some hotels. Instead, we can store our luggage and explore our new destination. If you've purchased pre-trip or post-trip accommodation (if available), you may be required to change rooms from your trip accommodation for these extra nights.CUBAN Guesthouses: For most travellers, the guesthouse accommodation is a major highlight of their visit to Cuba. The guesthouses provide a great opportunity for travellers to interact with everyday Cubans. The houses we use are much nicer than the average Cuban dwelling, as for a start, the family needs to have enough resources to have a spare room to accommodate guests. All the houses we use have a private bathroom for the guests with a hot water shower. Towels are provided, and soap is usually provided. Most rooms have air-conditioning while a few just a fan. Guests are generally served meals separately to the family. The rooms are basic but all comfortable and clean, and the families will try to make you feel at home as much as possible. Most Cubans are very friendly and love to talk to guests. In some houses the family members speak quite good English, while in others they are practiced at communicating with their non-Spanish speaking guests simply by gesturing and smiling. Overcoming these communication challenges is seen by most as part of the fun! Generally, the group will split up into different homes, with between 1 and 4 group members in each home.
Guides
All Intrepid group trips are accompanied by one of our group leaders. The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. Intrepid endeavours to provide the services of an experienced leader however, due to the seasonality of travel, rare situations may arise where your leader is new to a particular region or training other group leaders. Your leader will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the places visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. At Intrepid we aim to support local guides who have specialised knowledge of the regions we visit. If you were interested in delving deeper into the local culture at a specific site or location then your leader can recommend a local guide service in most of the main destinations of your trip.

Style descriptions
Comfort is your style of travel if you want the whole grassroots experience with more inclusions, meals and creature comforts. While accommodation is predominantly tourist class (3-4 star), on some itineraries there is the opportunity to stay with a local family, spend the night on a train or camp out in exotic places (without putting up your own tent of course). Along the way, you'll really experience the destination up close. You'll mingle with locals, enjoy a taste of their way of life and gain special insights from your leader. This is not luxury travel, but real world experiences - just with a softer landing!

Meals Included
Meals introduction
While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. On our camping trips we often cook the region's specialities so you don't miss out. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, generally not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There's no obligation to do this though.
