Tour begins: 5:30 PM, Hôtel Reisen. A transfer is included from Stockholm's Arlanda Airport to the Hôtel Reisen in the heart of Sweden's historic capital city. Late afternoon, join us for a visit to Stockholm's Vasa Museum, featuring the impressive Vasa, an ornate royal warship that sank in Stockholm's harbor following its launch in 1628 and was raised in 1961. Day 2 A City Built on Islands
Begin today's discovery of Sweden's capital with sightseeing including a guided visit to Stockholm's iconic City Hall, where the annual Nobel Prize award festivities take place. You'll see the Council Chamber; the Gold Room, whose walls are sparkling with 18 million pieces of gold mosaic and glass depicting events in Swedish and world history; and the famous Blue Room, misnamed because the architect changed his mind and left its beautiful red-brick walls intact. Stockholm sightseeing continues with a panoramic lakeside drive over bridges that crisscross between Stockholm's small islands, offering views of Gamla Stan (Old Town) and a skyline of 17th- and 18th-century buildings, the Baltic Sea, Lake Malaren, the elegant Strandvagen waterfront, the inner harbor, the Royal Palace, the Cathedral and Parliament. The rest of the day is free to explore as you wish – perhaps take a canal tour, or walk through the cobbled streets of medieval Gamla Stan.

After lunch at a local Copenhagen restaurant, embark on a city tour that includes a visit to one of Denmark's beautiful castles. If you wish, we've included admission to celebrated Tivoli Gardens, which you can visit at your leisure this evening with tickets provided by your Tauck Director. This city-center, 160+-year-old amusement park is set within a 20-acre garden; from thousands of blooms to a lakeside beer garden, fireworks, a roller coaster and evening music, it's a Danish experience unto its own.

After a Danish family-style lunch in a local restaurant in North Zealand, return to "wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen." The afternoon and evening are free to explore as you wish, perhaps discovering the historic Nyhavn area and strolling along the Stroget, Copenhagen's main street; dinner is at a local restaurant tonight.

Day 5 The Home of a Composer for the Ages
Board a flight this morning from Copenhagen to Bergen on Norway's west coast. Upon arrival, have lunch at a local restaurant, then head to Troldhaugen, the beloved Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg's former lakeside villa, today a living museum and concert center; Norway's foremost composer is perhaps best known for his musical score for the play Peer Gynt. En route to your hotel, visit Fantoft Stave Church, a 1990s reconstruction of an original 12th-century stave church that was destroyed by fire in 1992. Many centuries ago, the construction of traditional, iconic Norwegian wooden stave churches began with the slotting of posts (staves) into the ground to support thousands of skillfully crafted timber parts, which included carved portals and dragons' head carvings on the roof. The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure. Check into your hotel on Bergen's historic Bryggen waterfront, and enjoy the evening as you wish.

Following an afternoon at leisure, ride a ferry to dinner at a local restaurant, before returning to your hotel close to Bryggen, the city's old wharf district. Featuring traditional wooden buildings and a medieval atmosphere, Bryggen was founded in 1070 during the days of the Hanseatic League; one of the oldest large trading ports in Northern Europe, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 8 Briksdal Glacier & a "Troll Car" Ride
Travel today to one of Norway's most inspirational natural wonders – Briksdal Glacier, set between roaring waterfalls and mountain peaks at the end of one of the Nordfjord's three branches. Meltwater from the glacier has created three emerald-green lakes in the valley; a ride on a "Troll Car" past thundering waterfalls and a short hike to the foot of the glacier lead to views of absolutely stunning scenery. After lunch, visit a local farm to learn about its sustainable farming efforts, then return to your resort to take advantage of its many amenities (some at additional cost) or explore Loen as you please.

After disembarking in Hellesylt, a country drive showcases picturesque alpine villages and includes lunch at a typical restaurant. Nine Tours and Done
5-star hotels switched to 3 and 4 (without any compensation or explanation)… many more meals “on your own”… lots of “self-guided” tours of museums and chateaux and castles we knew nothing about… airline quality “rubber chicken” dinners, not in hotel restaurants, but in sad and isolated business convention spaces… poorly-trained newer Tour Directors (like the one on this tour) with limited experience traveling outside her tiny Canadian village or dealing with people from diverse backgrounds.
She even confessed that this was a second gig job that took her away from her own business back home! You get what Tauck pays for, but unfortunately, not what YOU pay for. Speaking to a “Guest Relations” agent was comically pointless. She tried to make everything my fault, which I now understand is par for the course with the “new” post-Covid Tauck. Please reconsider spending huge amounts of your hard-earned money on a tour company that has lost its way and no longer delivers.
Skip this cruise - not worth it
For dinner every night because the entrees were terrible. You could be the first person at breakfast and everything on the buffet was cold, nothing was hot. there warming trays had tea light candles underneath them.
Wine served at dinner was low quality whicj says something since it was French wine. Tours were poorly
Planned, guides were ok at best. There is no time to shop or eat on land 9 times out 10. We were in Sicily but never got a chance to eat Sicilian food. So disappointed in this ver expensive cruise. The land portions in Malta and Marseiile were better but the tours in Malta were short, limited and subpar. This was our 8th Tauck trip and we have since cancelled our next three. We are not paying Tauck prices for mediocre experiences.
Tauck/Aon terrible travel insurance
Nice trip but not if you are a loyal Tauck Customer like myself
Great if you like 5-star hotels and lots of food
Pay for a 4 star trip and get 2 star food
