    Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Boston (2 Nights)

The Cradle of Liberty is your gateway to an Atlantic adventure filled with quiet harbour towns, lighthouses and windswept coastlines. After check-in, enjoy free time to explore Boston, before joining your Travel Director and travel companions for a Welcome Reception this evening.

    Day 2: Boston Sightseeing

Connect with the living history of Boston this morning, joining a Local Specialist for a leisurely walk along the city's redbrick Freedom Trail. Next, brush shoulders with the intellectuals of MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) touring the prestigious campus with a current student to gain insights into college life.

    Day 3: Boston – Martha's Vineyard

A quick ferry ride takes us "on island" to the summer retreat of the rich and famous, Martha's Vineyard. Join your Travel Director for a guided sightseeing tour of the island - its brightly painted cottages, colourful farmers' markets and quiet beaches, then indulge in a Regional Dinner at a local restaurant.

    Day 4: Martha's Vineyard – Cape Cod (2 Nights)

The bright blooms of lovely gardens beckon as we stroll through the Heritage Museum & Gardens of Sandwich, Cape Cod's oldest town. Later, 'Connect with Locals', joining the owners of a local taphouse for a private 'Be My Guest' lunch. Savour tasty seafood flavours while you gain a deeper understanding of the thriving craft beer scene on Cape Cod.

    Day 5: Cape Cod Sightseeing

Visit the popular fishing port of Provincetown before embarking on a one-hour 4WD tour the sand dunes along the Cape Code National Sea Shore. Your sandy journey will take you past wispy beach grass and dune shacks where famous artists and writers were once inspired to create their art. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps take an optional whale watching cruise this afternoon or sample the local dishes of clam chowder or Portuguese kale soup for which the Cod area is so renowned.

Day 6: Cape Cod – Newport (2 Nights)

Get your fill of cranberries as you explore the largest agricultural cooperative of cranberry growers in the world. Visit area cranberry bogs, some dating back the 1800's. Explore the region's whaling heritage and its connection to the local community next, joining a Local Specialist for an insightful visit to the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Spend the rest of the evening on your own, admiring the city's beautiful colonial-era architecture and sophisticated style.

    Day 7: Newport Sightseeing

This morning, you'll enjoy your choice sightseeing with a visit to one of Newport's renowned landmarks-The Vanderbilt's Breakers Mansion, a "summer cottage" called The Elms Mansion or the International Tennis Hall of Fame, which pays tribute to the players and contributors to this sport. This afternoon, perhaps join an optional sail around Newport Harbor. Our journey through the gateway of the New World almost at its end, we join our fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner.

    Day 8: Boston Free Time

Enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 9: Boston – Maritimes Cruise

Board the ship in Boston today to set sail on an unforgettable cruise discovering natural beauty and maritime treasures.

    Day 10: Bar Harbor, Maine

Continuing north, Bar Harbor is the quintessential New England coastal town.

    Day 11: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Discover the city's maritime history dominated by the hilltop Citadel, a star-shaped fort completed in the 1850s.

    Day 12: Sydney, Nova Scotia

Cruise on past the Highlands of Nova Scotia to the port of Sydney. Lighthouses stand sentinel on cliffside ledges; tiny villages huddle in rocky inlets and lobsters make it from the ocean to your plate in record time.

Day 13: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Call in at Charlottetown, the capital of Canada's Prince Edward Island.

Day 14: Gulf of Saint Lawrence

The Gulf of Saint Lawrence fringes the shores of half the provinces of Canada. The Gulf is defined by stunning coast line and beautiful islands, including Prince Edward Island and the Magdalen Islands.

    Day 15: Quebec City

Choose to take the funicular or the "neck-breaking steps" down to the Lower Town where you'll see Notre Dame des Victoires, the Petit Champlain district, the port, and Musée de la Civilisation.

    Day 16: Montreal, Depart Quebec

See the famous sights of Montreal before disembarking in Quebec.

Best of Italy Tour for 13 days, really 11 days. Recommendation: Do NOT take a Trafalgar Tour of any kind!

Best of Italy Tour for 13 days--actually 12 days. This was our 2nd Trafalgar tour--1st was Egypt---also terrible!
    1) Could ONLY understand about 10 % of the travel director's harangue. Her name was Frederica. The same situation occurred in Egypt.
    2) The bus driver named Theo was surly and rude.
    3) The Travel Director constantly sold the extra excursions. These were 2.5 times more expensive then privately-made tours. Example in Rome--Crown Tours.
    4) The food was terrible.
    5) The hotels were at best 2-3 star. NO AC, low water pressure, and the breakfasts were poor.
    6) Many hours were spent most days on the bus--4-8 hours. There were 49 passengers on this bus! You could not relax on the bus because the tour director constantly was speaking and selling optional excursions. Again, could not understand but 10 % of what she said.
    7) We pre-paid gratuities, but wished that we had not done so. Neither the driver nor Travel Director thanked us. We will not prepay again, however, we will NEVER take another Trafalgar Tour.

Service was fantastic. Had an amazing travel guide in Carolyne and she made the experience even more enjoyable with her leading us through the journey. She’s full of fun and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience. Our driver was great as well Christof. Always was on time and was very kind to us.

The trip is well organized. Our travel director was very lovely, sweet and accommodating. Our coach is clean, and the driver drives very smoothly and relaxing. The local specialists in all tours are very well expert. I like how they explained every detail of their beautiful country.

Kate and Ian did their best to make our trip as best as possible. Kate had great knowledge of the locations we visited and how Ian got the bus up around the small roads I'll never know. Thank you.

the trip and the tour director were excellent. But our ride to Liberia airport was a disaster on wheels. The driver was not able to communicate with us about the problems as he doesnot speak english. On the way to liberia airport fumes started coming out from the back end of the vehicle. Stopped the vehicle and with the help of the local people the tire got changed and resumed the trip. The driver was not even keen to communicate with trafalgar .after another hour the vehicle completely got shut off. For a while we were stranded in the highway and trafalgar sent another 2 vans to pick up us all to airport. The return trip to airport was a disaster . Please use a vehicle with good conditions. Please do not put the tour members life in jeopardy.
