Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive New York City
Welcome to New York City. Check in to your hotel and head out on your own for an afternoon discovering the city. Grab a slice of pizza or a hot dog from a street vendor, browse the high-end shops or just relax at your hotel. At 5:30 p.m., meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception. Day 2: New York – Philadelphia – Washington, D.C. (2 Nights)
Take a bite out of the Big Apple on an orientation tour of the city. View the towering Empire State Building, pulsating Times Square and grand Central Park. Travel on to the City of Brotherly Love and visit the Liberty Bell Center. View Independence Hall, site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, before travelling on to Washington, D.C. This evening enjoy dinner in the nation's capital. Full Breakfast, Dinner
Day 3: Washington, D.C. Sightseeing
Immerse yourself in the proud heritage of a nation today as you view the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, the World War II and Vietnam War memorials. Enjoy the remainder of the day on your own-perhaps visit one of the Smithsonian's museums or galleries. Full Breakfast
Day 4: Washington, D.C. – Lancaster County/Amish Country
Roll back in time to explore the rural back roads of Pennsylvania's Lancaster County with a Local Specialist. Learn about the traditional agricultural lifestyle of the Amish and the Mennonites, who live much the same as they did when they first settled here over 200 years ago. Arrive at your hotel, a historic preservation in the heart of Amish Country. Tonight, after a hearty Regional Meal, practice preparing delicious whoopie pies for your dessert. Day 5: Lancaster County – Niagara Falls (2 Nights)
Depart Lancaster County and journey across Pennsylvania into the eastern corner of New York. Make a stop at the Corning Museum of Glass and see more than 35 centuries of glass artistry in the galleries. Later, arrive in Canada at majestic Niagara Falls. Full Breakfast
Day 6: Niagara Falls Sightseeing
After soaking up the panoramic views and thunderous roar of the falls, set out on an exhilarating boat ride to the base of spectacular Horseshoe Falls. Enjoy some free time to explore on your own before travelling on to the picturesque community of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Tonight, enjoy a special Be My Guest dinner a local winery, complete with a tasting of their delicious vintages. Full Breakfast, Be My Guest Dining
Day 7: Niagara Falls – Toronto
Arrive on the shores of the Great Lake Ontario and cosmopolitan Toronto today and set out for an orientation tour of the city. There is time to explore on your own this afternoon or perhaps join an optional tour of the CN Tower. Full Breakfast
Day 8: Toronto – Ottawa
Travel to Ottawa, Canada's stately capital. Enjoy an introductory tour of the city, including the elegant buildings of Parliament Hill, Rideau Hall, the residence of the Governor General of Canada and the beautiful downtown galleries and museums. Full Breakfast
Day 9: Ottawa – Quebec City (2 Nights)
Bid adieu to Ottawa this morning. Set off for Quebec City and Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to the only walled city north of Mexico in the Western Hemisphere. On the way, enjoy lunch at an authentic local "sugar shack". You'll feel as if you've just set foot in Old Europe with its classic bistros, sidewalk cafés and cobblestone streets. Day 10: Quebec City Sightseeing
Explore Quebec City's winding streets and historic sites with your Local Specialist. Learn about the city's French and English military past at the fortified Citadel and the Plains of Abraham, the site of a major colonial battle. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore; you might choose to visit a gallery, take a carriage ride through the cobblestone streets or simply relax at a café. Full Breakfast
Day 11: Quebec City – Montreal
Arrive in Montreal where your Local Specialist introduces you to the pleasures of the city, including the spectacular Notre-Dame Basilica, the colourful port area and Place Jacques-Cartier, epicentre of the old city. This evening, dine on an authentic Regional Meal feast. Full Breakfast, Regional Meal
Day 12: Montreal – Franconia Notch – Boston (2 Nights)
Leave the second largest city in Canada and cross back into the United States. Traverse New Hampshire on your way to Franconia Notch in the heart of the White Mountains. As you make your way through forests of sugar maple and white birch, watch for the black bear, moose and deer that call this area home. Arrive in Boston at your hotel. Full Breakfast
Day 13: Boston Sightseeing
Discover Boston's rich history, from the Old North Church to Boston Harbor—site of the famous Tea Party—and along the Freedom Trail with a tour of the city. This afternoon, continue your exploration as you please—visit the bar that inspired the TV show Cheers or explore the lovely Public Gardens. This evening, toast your holiday and your newfound friends at a Farewell Dinner. Full Breakfast, Farewell Dinner
Day 14: Depart Boston
This morning, say farewell to "The City on a Hill". A transfer is provided to Boston Logan International Airport or choose to extend your stay in Boston. Full Breakfast
