How can I use Stride?

- Connect with to 1,000+ tour operators around the world
- Contact the tour operator directly for booking
With Stride, you can search tens of thousands of trips from more than 1,000 tour operators and expert trip planners.
Most travel agencies and websites only show options from large companies that pay big commissions. We show you all the options we can gather. We want you to have all the information to find your perfect trip, no matter who it’s with.
Is Stride a Travel Agency?
Nope! We're something even better - our team has worked to gather the largest, most comprehensive listing of tours and expert trip planners, from thousands of different companies. Stride connects you with the perfect agent or tour company for your travel style.
Does Stride Operate Trips?
No. We leave that to the experts and help you find the best one based on how you want to see the world!
What is a Pre-Planned Tour or Travel Package?
Pre-planned tours are designed by tour companies and travel experts.
Usually all the internal transportation and accommodation is included in the price. Some meals are typically included as well. They are typically multi-city or multi-country trips.
You can choose private tours, with just you and your companions, or a group tour. Group tours are classefied as either “large” (26-50 fellow travelers) or small (up to 25 fellow travelers).
Pre-planned tours from a tour company don’t always allow for a lot of customization. Most of these itineraries include some free time for travelers to explore at their leisure. However the scheduled activities, accommodations, and timing of the trip are already established.
I'm not sure about "pre-planned". Can Stride Design a Trip For Me?
- While we don't design trips ourselves, we can connect you with the best expert travel planners around the globe!
If you prefer to have more agency over what you see and do on your trip, Stride can connect you with an expert travel planner who will create an itinerary to your exact specifications. Use the Custom Trip planner to get started.
Please note, using a travel planner can be more costly than choosing a pre-planned tour.
Can I find day tours on Stride?

Finalizing a booking
I need to finalize my tour booking or make a payment
Great! As Stride is not the acutal operator of the trip, please contact the tour company directly. If you don't know who the tour operator is, send us an email at help@travelstride.com
Dates
I need specific dates
Stride has a date filter available, where you can search by a range of departure dates. Select a start date and then how flexible you are from that date. You can choose to search tours in +/- 3 days from your desired departure, +/- 15, and +/- 45.
I'm traveling next year. Why aren't those dates available yet?
Most large tour companies do start adding following year departure dates around this time, however the same trips aren't always offered due to weather concerns or activity availability.
If no dates are listed that doesn't necessarily mean the trip isn't happening. It may be that the tour operator has not provided us with this information or they customize itineraries and departures depending on the traveler.
Why do some departure dates have different prices?
Depending on seasonality and the popularity of certain dates, the price per person will fluxuate.
Stride Member Rebate
Stride members can save up to $700 by reserving through Stride! Log in to your account to see which trips are eligible for savings (indicated by a green badge). Not a member? It's free to join!
How can I claim my rebate?
Reserve your trip through Stride and make sure the tour operator notes in your booking that you found them via Stride. Please then send proof of your booking (invoice) to hello@travelstride.com within 30 days.
We ask all Stride members to contribute back to the community by writing a review of their trip. Once we receive your review, we'll be able to process your rebate request. The rebate amount is calculated based on the total base cost of your trip as well as which company you're traveling with.
Here's the details on our Member Savings Program
Do I need to tell the tour operator I found their trip on Stride?
Yes, it is a good idea to let the tour operator know you were referred by Travelstride. Unless they acknowledge that you came from Stride, we regrefully cannot extend our member savings to you.
I found a trip with an operator but you don't offer savings. Why?
Through our Member Savings program, we are able to offer savings to Stride members who reserve through Stride on trips from select companies.
If you found a trip not eligible for savings it means that we don't currently have a commercial relationship with the tour operator. As they are not currently included in the Stride Select program, we regretfully cannot pass on any savings to you.
We show their trips as a free service to help you make the most informed decision as a traveler. And you are absolutley welcome to book with them! We're thrilled when we can match travelers to their perfect trip, no matter what.
Be sure to mention to the tour operator that you found the trip on Stride. We would love to be able to extend Stride savings to travelers using them in the future.
Prices
We always show the lowest available price based on the most recent information we have from the tour company. Due to seasonality, availability, or other factors at the discretion of the tour operator, prices often fluctuate and we cannot guarantee pricing accuracy.
If a price listed on Stride is different on the operators website
The tour operator may have recently updated the price of the trip.
Or sometimes a tour company's prices may include local taxes or fees that may be based on where you are located (home country). Since Stride shares prices globally we show the base price without locally required taxes and fees.
Stride also stores base prices in US dollars so depending on currency fluctuations there may be small differences between the tour operator price and the price Stride shows.
Why are your prices for trips to the same destination all different?
Stride shows information for trips that are operated by many different companies - over 1,000 in fact. Different companies and itineraries have different levels of service, quality of accommodations, and levels of luxury. Inclusions are always a bit different as well.
We do our best to make those differences clear without making the site overwhelming as it can get fairly complicated.
Single & Solo travelers
I'm a single senior traveler. Can you recommend some tour companies?
Absolutely!
The below companies will see a large range of 50+ travelers, including singles:
1. Road Scholar - Great if you're a history buff, or interested in learning some hands on crafts. Tours are very education focused.
2. Eldertreks - Great for really active travelers! Trips are relatively challenging physically, but this also means they attract very similar kinds of people - you're sure to meet a lot of new friends.
3. Best Single Travel - One of the only companies that focuses specifically on romantically single trips for older travelers.
4. Butterfield & Robinson - They are known for luxury cycling trips, but offer many kinds of outings. The age range will be wider here - from mid 30s to 50+.
5. Trafalgar - For a fun, relaxed, culturally rich, and easy group travel experience, Trafalgar is a great choice. Groups are larger too, so you'll have an opportunity to meet a lot of different people.
6. SeniorTours - Niche age range, and trips are specifically designed to be welcoming and comfortable for all senior travelers.
7. Overseas Adventure Travel - A really great choice for the "young at heart". Trips are experiential in nature, and visit fairly exotic destinations. Definitely a good one for experienced travelers ready to try a guided tour experience.
I'm traveling solo. Do I have to pay a single supplement?
More and more tour companies are not requring a single supplement provided you are wiling to stay with a roomate of the same sex.
On Stride, we have a filter to help you find trips with no single supplement. Browse trips »
Traveling to Cuba
I'm an American citizen looking for trips to Cuba
Many tours that visit Cuba are open to US travelers, and build in the required components for legality. Currently US travelers must satisfy one of 12 broad categories of authorized travel (such as "journalism" or "educational activities"). Traveling strictly as a tourist is still illegal - though a tourist visa is required.
Your tour company will be able to help with all these details.
Highly recommended companies:
Intrepid Travel - they have been operating trips specifically for US citizens to Cuba for several years, even prior to when the restrictions were relaxed. So they have a high level of destination knowledge and experience.
"Hola Cuba: People to People Tour for US Citizens" by Intrepid Travel
Discover Corps is another great company for traveling to Cuba. They have a very strong humanitarian and volunteering focus on their trips, so if this is one of your main interests, I'd definitely suggest traveling with them.
See all Discover Corps Cuba Tours - all open to US travelers
If you are interested in a trip, and unsure about whether they are open to US citizens, you can always select "Request Info" to connect with a tour operator representative. They will be able to provide the most accurate and up to date information regarding their Cuba itineraries.
Handicap Accessible Tours
I or one of my travel companions uses a wheelchair, walker, or is otherwise encumbered. Can you recommend a tour company?
There are actually quite a few options available.
Some of the top companies we recommend for handicap or limited mobility travel are:
1. Access Tours - They specialize in wheelchair travel in the American West. Visiting National Parks is a big part of their tours. The age range does tend to skew older though, so I would inquire with them specifically about any tours they offer where they see a younger crowd. Groups are very small - around 10 people.
2. Travel For All - Designed specifically to accommodate a wide range of disabilities and handicaps, Travel For All is the perfect company for travelers of all ages. They have trips for families, group tours, as well as several independent and private guided options. They are pet friendly which is a huge plus if you don't want to leave your furry companions behind!
2. Access 2 Africa - If you're looking for a safari, this is an excellent choice! They focus in South Africa, and trips are open to all disabled travelers, including the visual and hearing impaired. The age range that travels with them is very wide.
3. Relaxed Explorer - Specializing in Europe, though they can arrange trips all over the world, Relaxed Explorer is a great choice for travelers seeking a lot of variety. Relaxed Explorer designs tours and custom itineraries with accessibility in mind, but they are also a great option if you're just looking for an easy pace.
4. Enable Holidays - They offer a lot of detailed information to help match you with the best possible hotels and travel activities. Enable Holidays offers trips around the world and they specialize in arranging travel for wheelchair users.
5. Sage Traveling - Another Europe specialist, they are a fairly well established company that offers numerous wheelchair friendly travel options including cruises. All ages are welcome, and the website serves as a great resource for questions about traveling with a wheelchair.
