I’m writing a review of what really happens on Trafalger tours. My husband and I were on a 14 day Trafalger tour of Ireland called “Amazing Ireland”. We were on a bus with a number of people who were coughing and were repeatedly assured that it was just allergies. On the 6th day, I fell ill and tested positive for Covid-19. In Ireland, testing positive means that you are supposed to self-isolate for 7 days. Trafalger then pretty much abandoned us. The hotel Trafalger had booked for us refused to keep us saying they were full, meanwhile advertising vacancies online. Trafalger would not go to bat to help us. Their so called Trafalger Guest Support first emailed a great sounding note confirming our hotel room number, offering to help find other accommodations, and suggesting that we get in touch with our insurer and the airline. When we spoke directly with the Trafalger guest support person, he said that he wasn’t familiar with the area and would just be looking online for places and that we could do that ourselves. Trafalger said we should get a cab on the down low and quietly transfer to another hotel. They did not help us relocate or find a hotel. They suggested not to speak to the other Trafalger guests, even others who had tested positive (with whom we might have been able to problem solve). The Trafalger trip director said he would tell the group the next day, that there was no need to upset them before then. Trafalger was very happy to accept the substantial payment for our trip of a lifetime, that ended after only 6 days, but ensuring no refunds would be issued. So we are now abandoned by Trafalger, left to our own devices, isolating in a hotel room (that we had to find ourselves), on the opposite side of Ireland from our final destination. No arrangements were made by Trafalger to support us or help house, feed, or transport us. We have also not heard a further peep from the Trafalger Guest Support person, nor the Trip Director (since he replied to a text asking him to give the other Covid guests our phone number). We’re very disappointed in Trafalger, to say the least, and recommend never to sign up for a Trafalger tour. Trafalger simply wants your money, and don’t really care at all about supporting their guests.
We found a rat in our hotel room. We had to move three rooms in three nights. Very overpriced for the service they provide.
Fransisco organized a private safari for our family of 7 (5 children aged 2-12) to Tarangire NP, Ngorongoro, Serengeti NP, with a follow-on stay in Zanzibar. This was the most phenomenal experience we could imagine!!
From the onset of planning the trip he was responsive and listened to our many requests. To an easy arrival/airport pickup and transport in his Land Cruiser with plenty of snacks and drinks that he kept replenished throughout. To safari—Francisco knew how to set the days accordingly to allow optimal viewing of wildlife and plenty of R&R for the kids at each of our lodges’ pools. He always knew where to find the wildlife and was extremely knowledgeable as a modern Masai; teaching us culture and answered all the animal questions we could think of. He selected accommodations in the Serena line which proved perfect for hospitality, food, family friendliness and stunning beauty!
The Zanzibar extension was the perfect conclusion to our African experience and left us refreshed and ready to return to the real-world.
There are many big agency tours available for Tanzania safari, but you will benefit more from the personal attention of Lappet Faced Safaris. We could not be happier with our dream vacation and wouldn’t entrust anyone else!

A Culture Trip curated trip is a must for anyone burnt out planning their own trips or going to a remote or unfamiliar area. Having a local insider was the highlight of the trip. From the moment we landed to the moment we had to go through security to leave, we were completely taken care of. Our insider gave us great recommendations for restaurants and was very adaptable to any situation that arose.
I gave this return 1 star only because that’s the lowest possible option, otherwise they would receive 0 stars!!! I had a trip planned for September of 2021 to Iceland. 12 days before the trip, my husband got Covid. Even though it was 12 days before the travel date, they still would not allow me to reschedule the trip. My husband has Alzheimer’s and this would likely have been his last trip out of the country, had I been able to reschedule. I was told I could put in a claim to get a partial refund. Since September 5, I have been battling with CIE to get said refund. Countless emails and phone calls claiming my check would be in the mail by “next week.” I eventually contacted Trip Mate to see if I could get any answers and they informed me that the check couldn’t be sent out because CIE hadn’t released the money. I tried countless times to reach the customer service manager, Mary Larkin, but every time I called she was “on another call” or “at a meeting.” Eventually I was told I could only email her to get in contact with her. I did exactly that about my refund I have been waiting months to receive and she finally called me back. She said it was inexcusable that the refund had taken this long and assured me she would have the money released and have Trip Mate expedite sending the check to me “by next week.” This conversation took place on April 7 and no money has been received at this time. Better Business Bureau has been contacted to handle the matter from here. These people are thieves, do NOT under any circumstances book with them!!!

It was the most amazing trip full of fun and adventures, I can honestly say that dog sledding was one of the most fun experiences of my life.
It was my sons 12th birthday while we were away and Aurelie went out of her way to make it a special experience for him right down to arranging a birthday cake at our aurora viewing and booking a birthday meal, super helpful.
From start to finish the process was smooth, would definitely use Landsby again.
