Editor’s Take
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary. Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.
Reviews for tours in Ethiopia are largely 4 and 5 star. Ethiopia is a more off the beaten track destination in Africa, less well known for safaris and wildlife and more frequented for historical sites and cultural activities.
Many positive reviewers point to how they were very unsure what to expect, and their Ethiopia tour guide really brought the culture to life, providing a wonderful and eye-opening travel experience.
Positive reviews also comment on the benefit of having an open mind - traveling in Ethiopia may involve the odd cold shower, dusty roads, and unique foods. Going with a sense of adventure will make your Ethiopia tour experience that much more enjoyable.
Because Ethiopia is a lesser frequented travel destination, the tourist infrastructure is still young. Accommodations may be somewhat less comfortable than what western travelers are used to. Negative reviews pinpoint the accommodations as being a dark spot on an otherwise wonderful tour experience in Ethiopia.
