Editor’s Take
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary.
Remember, just because you see a 1-star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.
It is apparent that travelers felt very positive about their Rwanda trip. Nearly all of the reviews are 5-stars, indicating not only how breath-taking the country is, but also how it is successful it has become in growing its tourism industry.
Nearly all travelers who gave a review of their guided tour in Rwanda referred to how satisfied they were with tour companies and their guides. Citing specific tour companies and guides’ names was common in reviews, especially with reference to gorilla trekking tours. In regards to tour guides, cooks, and drivers, reviewers had nothing but praise for their skills and knowledge of the biodiversity they were exploring.
Reviews also describe the high-quality lodging and travel accommodations that they were provided with. Even when camping in remote areas, travelers did not see the quality of tents or trucks decline, adding another level of satisfaction to their tour of Rwanda.
For travelers who were on guided tours of multiple countries in East Africa, they found the transitions between countries to be fluid, as facilitated by their respective tour companies.
The negative aspects of guided tours were usually centered around the length of travel times. This can be avoided if travelers book guided tours in Rwanda that utilize internal flights instead of transportation by car in between sites. Similarly, some travelers found the times at certain locations to be too short. This can be avoided by planning a longer length of stay in Rwanda, which would minimize travel days and maximize the amount of time spent in cities or remote locations.
However, this option would also increase travel costs, which travelers on a budget may need to consider. Overall, even as travelers frequently moved between national parks and cities, the quality of their tour guides, lodging, and travel accommodations did not suffer.
