What to Look For in Rhine River Cruise Reviews
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary.
Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the destinations.
When reading Rhine River Cruise reviews, it’s important to keep in mind that river cruises tend to attract luxury travelers with high expectations of customer service, food, and lodging.
Many Rhine River cruises are family friendly during the Christmas season when they visit the many European Christmas markets along the cruise route. If reviewers were not expecting young children around, this may color their experience (in a positive or negative way!).
Note that it is common for Rhine River cruise companies to offer numerous excursions outside of the base price for the cruise. These excursions often cover a wide range of activities and interests, but do cost an extra fee.
It may be necessary for river cruises to make last minute itinerary adjustments due to water levels. This is an unfortunate circumstance, however most river cruise operators will do their best to accommodate. That said, it can cause extremely understandable irritability for travelers expecting a river cruise and instead being bused from port to port.
