Style Style Small Group Tour Small groups are usually defined as between 10 and 24 travelers, often less. If you're the kind of person who enjoys more intimate experiences and personal service this is a good choice. All else being equal you will pay a premium for this style vs a larger group tour.
Private Guided Private tours give you the undivided attention of a guide, and often involve special access to sites and unique experiences not available to larger groups. This is a great option for families, couples, and small friend groups. Expect to pay a bit more for the extra service.
Self Guided Tour A travel company plans your itinerary and arranges all the logistics including lodging, local activities, and transportantion. You have the flexibility of a solo trip while still getting the convience and time savings of expert planning. Get 90% of the benefits of a tour, without a guide.
Group Tour Groups are between 25-60 people, typically ~30-40. Usually there will be many opportunities to split off and enjoy meals and excursions in smaller groups. This is the most economical way to travel, saving up to 40% versus booking the same itinerary yourself.
River Cruise These vessels are smaller than most ocean cruisers, limiting which amenties are available. Passenger counts can vary. One of the biggest advantages of a river cruise is the ability to dock at smaller ports and local villages.
Small Ship Cruise Small ship cruises usually have a max passenger count of 500. The primary purpose of these trips is to spend time off the vessel in local ports (e.g. Mediterranean) or experiencing nature (e.g Galapagos or Antarctica). Cabins can vary from budget to luxury.
Large Ship Cruise This is the "floating city" experience, with multiple ways to enjoy your vacation aboard the ship as much as on land. Ships are multiple floors, provide several activities, culinary, and shopping options. They often make fewer stops and have less time available for shore excursions.
Retreats Similar to a self guided tour but staying in one location only with activities and day outings included as a part of the stay.

It was amazing, I did things, saw places and ate food I never thought I
would. It was probably the best adventure I’ve ever had and I did it with
a fabulous group of people.
I think it was seeing Angkor Wat, although we didn’t manage to see the
sunrise, it was overcast. The temple was something else.

We had three group leaders during the trip. They were all very good. The
tour leader we had for Cambodia was brilliant, she really went the extra mile
for us and was so pleasant and amusing.

Pack a lot lighter than I did, be prepared for more cold weather than you
expect, we had it pretty cool for best part of two weeks. Especially when you
are on the water. There’s lots of laundry opportunities.

The money can be confusing because of the amount of notes, usually about
eleven different ones, most places are more than happy with dollars. No
coins.

Brilliant trip, great balance between cycling and cultural. Our leader "Is"
was wonderful - she stops traffic with a wave of her hand and big smile! We
were really well looked after.
The hotels vary a bit with most being very comfortable, one or two in out of
the way places are just OK. All were clean, en-suite and had air-con.
We visited markets, got top try a range of "food" - I'm veggie, so skiped the
meat bit (some it had 6 or even 8 legs). As a veggie, Is always made sure I
had a suitable meal.
The bikes were heavy mountain bikes, in excellent condition in Thailand, less
so in Cambodia and Vietnam. The cycling is all flat, there are couple of long
days, but we all managed.
My advice, book it. Its a great trip.
So many. I love the cycling, with 3 guides we were able to push teh pace a
little while no leaving anyone behind. Siem Reap and the temples were great,
but so was everywhere else. The killing fields was the most moving. While
upsetting, it I do feel it was the right thing to include it in the trip.

Weaving through traffic in Siem Reap, its utter chaos, but everyone gives way
to each other and somehow it just works.

I think the abiding memory will be the huge and warm welcome we got from the
locals, the kids hi-fiving us as we rode past, lunch at one of the cycle
guide's mum's house (best meal of the trip).

Is, our leader, was tireless, hard working, great fun, and made sure we all
had a great time. We owe her a massive thank you, she really made the trip.

I read a lot of other reviews and lot of them mentioned the bike seats. I
dismissed them at the time,a mistake. I don't know why, they look OK, but oh
my bum!

Take Thai Bart, US dollars for Cambodia. In Vietnam there is a good exchange
near the hotel that takes £ $ and I guess a lot more.

If you want to get a taste of the 4 countries, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and
Cambodia, this is the tour for you.
The accommodation was brilliant throughout, with a variety from riverside
hotels to overnight boat on Halong Bay to homestay and lastly, the most
restful of all, the overnight Reunification Express from Hanoi to Hue.
The tour leaders were very professional and, in particular in Cambodia,
Vanthe was both passionate and knowledgeable about his country. in fact, in
many ways Cambodia was the highlight as the scenery, people and places we
visited were beyond our expectations.
This trip provides an excellent taster of what Indochina has to offer and we
are considering revisiting Laos and Cambodia at some time in the future.
The most inspirational moment was undoubtedly Cambodia and the way the people
have bounced back and proved so resilient from all the recent devastation,
both in terms of population and habitat.
In addition the passion with which Vanthe spoke about the history and people
was both refreshing and eye opening.

We had 3 different group leaders. All were excellent, in their own way.
They were backed up by individual guides in the various places visited, who
were prepared to open up their hearts and souls to inform us of their
countries and knowledge of the places visited.

Do not hesitate. Book the trip immediately.

Excellent trip for those wanting to see and do as bike rides and kayaking
included with the sightseeing.
Ha Long Bay stunning.
Angkor complex amazing.

Different group leader for each country though Boom covered both Thailand and
Laos and was great.

Angkor though the highlight of the trip comes right at the very end when you
may be tired and "all templed out".

I was the only one from our group who did the optional activity at Ock Pop
Tok of a day learning about natural dyeing and weaving. It was a great day
and perhaps this option should be pushed more.

A wonderful month immersed in the cultures, history, food, people, customs,
religions, traffic, and architecture of these four lovely countries.
We were lucky to be in a group of 10 extremely nice people who were a
pleasure to spend a month with.
Our guides and leaders were all superb
Our transport and accommodation were again, second to none !
Angkor Wat

Superb

Be prepared for a full on itinerary with early starts and long long days
usually ending in a bar somewhere !

If there was any demand for a longer trip, a bit more time in Thailand would
be nice.
