Editor’s Take
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary.
Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.
Traveling in Slovenia can cover a wide range of activities, from hard core hiking to visiting museums and art galleries. Due to Slovenia’s geographic location, it is often included on tours that visit other Balkan and Eastern European countries.
When reading reviews for Slovenia travel on Stride, it’s important to remember that the tour probably also visited other countries so the rating - whether positive or negative - is not just about Slovenia.
Reviews for Slovenia are rated mostly high, between 4-5 stars. Reviews that are in the 3 star range often point out the difficulty level of walks and hikes around Slovenia’s mountain region - the opinion being that the tour company mislabeled the required physical level. Unfortunately physical level isn’t always the easiest grade to provide to trips because it’s relative your personal fitness level.
Many active tours are happy to provide detailed information about the elevation, terrain, and difficulty for hiking so be sure to read the itinerary closely, and also contact a tour company representative if you’d like more detail.
