Tasmania Tours & Travel Guide

Tasmania Attractions & Landmarks Guide

An island off the South-Eastern coast of Australia, Tasmania might be only 26,000 square miles, but it still packs a punch! Nearly 45% of Tasmania is national park - thus a perfect destination for hiking and photography. Head there for beautiful views, incredible wildlife (yes including the famous Tasmanian devil), and delicious food and drink - all presented with a signature laid back charm.

Nature and Wildlife

By far, Tasmania’s largest draw is it’s incredible natural wonders and wildlife. Lush forest to wild seashore -- where activities like sea kayaking are well worth trying. From the picturesque wineglass bay in expansive Freycinet National Park to penguin spotting on Bruny Island.

Convict Colony

For many years during its time as a British colony, Tasmania was a convict colony. This history is most prevalent in Port Arthur, where tours reveal this dark past. If you’re really daring, you can take a ghost tour at night!

Food and Drink

While Tasmania may not be a foodie destination per se, you will find a fair share of fresh seafood, shellfish, and farm fresh meals. And being close to the Australian mainland, you’ll encounter a lot of local Australian wines.

All around the island, you’ll find delightful seaside towns, and plenty of places to explore the outdoors. It may be a bit of an operation to get to, but Tasmania is a gem not to miss.
