Editor’s Take

What to Look For in Tuscany Tour Reviews

Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary.

Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.

Tuscany is known for its rolling hills, picturesque villages, and rustic cuisine. Travelers to Tuscany are looking to dive into the romantic and slower way of life that makes Tuscany famous.

Positive reviews from travelers center around the opportunity of getting out and exploring the land of Tuscany. Taking Chianti wine tours and exploring this famous wine region are one of the main highlights of the trips. Many travelers also enjoyed the walks included in Tuscan itineraries through the countryside and tours of the architectural cities of Siena and Pisa.

Another positive point made by travelers is how much they enjoyed the combination of tour activities. Tours to Tuscany that include wine tours, cycling adventures, food tasting, and free time were a hit with most travelers.

Some negative reviews revolved around the surprisingly challenging bike rides. If you are doing an active tour in Tuscany, it’s important to remember that Tuscany is made up of many hills and the bike tours will be more difficult for some travelers. However, many of the tours include days off from cycling or alternatives to a cycling tour.

Italy is an ancient country with cities dating back thousands of years and to Medieval times. This means hotel rooms may be smaller than some travelers are used to because the buildings are smaller and closer together than those in the U.S.

Tuscany is one of the top destinations in Italy. Therefore, Tuscany will be busy during certain times of the year. During the high season, travelers should expect to wait longer to see attractions such as the Duomo and the city streets to be crowded.
