Style Style Small Group Tour Small groups are usually defined as between 10 and 24 travelers, often less. If you're the kind of person who enjoys more intimate experiences and personal service this is a good choice. All else being equal you will pay a premium for this style vs a larger group tour.
Private Guided Private tours give you the undivided attention of a guide, and often involve special access to sites and unique experiences not available to larger groups. This is a great option for families, couples, and small friend groups. Expect to pay a bit more for the extra service.
Self Guided Tour A travel company plans your itinerary and arranges all the logistics including lodging, local activities, and transportantion. You have the flexibility of a solo trip while still getting the convience and time savings of expert planning. Get 90% of the benefits of a tour, without a guide.
Group Tour Groups are between 25-60 people, typically ~30-40. Usually there will be many opportunities to split off and enjoy meals and excursions in smaller groups. This is the most economical way to travel, saving up to 40% versus booking the same itinerary yourself.
River Cruise These vessels are smaller than most ocean cruisers, limiting which amenties are available. Passenger counts can vary. One of the biggest advantages of a river cruise is the ability to dock at smaller ports and local villages.
Small Ship Cruise Small ship cruises usually have a max passenger count of 500. The primary purpose of these trips is to spend time off the vessel in local ports (e.g. Mediterranean) or experiencing nature (e.g Galapagos or Antarctica). Cabins can vary from budget to luxury.
Large Ship Cruise This is the "floating city" experience, with multiple ways to enjoy your vacation aboard the ship as much as on land. Ships are multiple floors, provide several activities, culinary, and shopping options. They often make fewer stops and have less time available for shore excursions.
Retreats Similar to a self guided tour but staying in one location only with activities and day outings included as a part of the stay.

I took my 80 year old Dad and he bragged about it every day till he passed 5/2020. It was the best thing I have ever done. Wish I could do it again with him.

This was my first Europe trip with my twin sister and we absolutely loved it! Our tour guide, Simona, was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We decided to balance independent travel with the tour (we arrived early in the morning on the first day in Rome to explore the highlights not included on the itinerary and spent an additional two days on our own in Paris at the end of the tour). We also booked flights on our own, though Globus' options to add on flights with airport transfer is pretty convenient. I'm glad we added on travel on our own because this tour is just that, a highlights tour! We got to see a lot in a short period of time, but, there's no way you can see it all. I still feel like I could've spent longer in Paris. I definitely wanted to see more of Florence. In Paris, we went on our own to explore the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. We didn't have time for Montmartre.

The organization of the entire tour was great and having both Simona and local guides was great-- there's nothing like learning about a city through the eyes of the locals. I appreciated that Globus allows you to upgrade, add additional nights in their hotels at the end, and also, let's you add on optional excursions. Everything was a great price. I did research on my own and it was truly a great value. I thought the hotels were very nice and the included breakfasts were absolutely delicious! We added on quite a few excursions: the Florentine Dinner, Mount Pilatus, Dinner Party and Illumination Drive, and Excursion to the Palace of Versailles. I felt the Florentine Dinner, Mount Pilatus, and the Palace of Versailles were absolute musts. As I mentioned, the tour is fast-paced and you are moving around a lot! It requires early wake-up, but there's time to sleep on the bus. It's convenient that Globus and the bus driver takes care of moving your bags around, as you are moving from city-to-city, another bonus of using a tour company.

I was pleasantly surprised that in 9 days we fit in a lot of sightseeing in 4 countries. I ususally plan my own trips with a full itinerary but this was the first tour we've taken where I left the planning to the Gate 1. It did not disappoint. I feel like we saw everything that I would have planned for us to do on our own. I don't feel like I have to return to any location to see things we missed. Also the other people on the tour were fun and we all got along well even with the wide age ranges. I highly recommend this tour and Gate 1.

Beer steins, cabarets, sex shops, cows on mountains. This is what people who live in Europe see everyday. Exploring all these cultures in one trip is why I enjoyed our tour so much (aside from our outstanding tour director Brek and amazing driver Ivan). It is a glimpse, so you dont get much time in Amsterdam. Maybe 2.5 hours so I would suggest planning ahead for that. My favorite optionals were the local Switzerland guided horse and carriage tour, and the mount pilatus excursion. Both of which were in Switzerland (I'm Italian and just found Switzerland is my favorite country in Europe). The Caberet optional in paris is expensive, but the show is PERFECT. The Rhine river cruise optional allows you to see almost every important monument in paris while sitting down which is awesome considering it is only a glimpse. Our tour director Brek knew exactly where to stop and at what times it would be best to do so. As soon as we walked off the tour bus to stop and have a look at the Eiffel Tower it literally sparkled. He timed it that way. Anyways, I would take this tour if you're looking for an affordable, stress free, and under 10 day tour.
