Itinerary
Get lost in the tangled laneways of Scotland's capital. From dramatic castles to medieval streetscapes, Edinburgh is a city with a big history. Nicknamed the 'Athens of the North', explore the city's modern art galleries, ancient classical architecture and exciting nightlife.
Visit Stirling Castle, then pass through the highland village of Crianlarich en route to Oban. Feel the sea breeze on a ferry trip up the Sound of Mull and take a coastal tour around the islands of Iona and Staffa.
Bordered by the highest mountain range in the British Isles, journey north to Glen Nevis. Take in the stunning scenery of the region on a nature walk before travelling to Glencoe for the night.
Take one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world aboard the Jacobite steam train to Mallaig. Used in three Harry Potter films, this experience will delight film buffs while providing some incredibly scenic views for photographers and those who just want to relax. Later, take a ferry to Skye.
Visit the dramatic Dunvegan Castle, which has been home to the chiefs of Clan Macleod for the last 800 years. Take a tour of Glen Ord Whisky Distillery and sample one of their single malts.
Take a river boat cruise on Loch Ness and visit Urquhart Castle before taking in the dramatic highland scenery of Trossachs National Park. Arrive in Glasgow for the evening and perhaps dine on traditional haggis, neeps and tatties for a true Scottish dining experience.

Tour Operator
It’s been more than 36 years since our first small group set out to discover Nepal. It’s this heritage and our reputation that keeps travellers coming back time and time again.
We appeal to the well-travelled, discerning traveller. The one who chooses value over price, and wants to immerse themselves in a place instead of just ticking landmarks off a bucket list. The type of person who would rather stay in a family run B&B built in a 16th century Venetian convent than a forgettable hotel. We’re for travellers who want inclusions along the way instead of fiddling around for loose change.
Almost 20 years ago, Peregrine led an industry revolution by solely employing locally born leaders. This innovative approach gives our travellers a deeper insight into the countries they visit. Doorways are opened and a true understanding of the place is fostered.
At Peregrine, we travel in intimate groups and take the time to get under the skin of a destination. Of course we all want to see the Taj Mahal in India. But imagine then heading to a remote Rajasthani village and learning about rural life while in the company of locals. Seeing the famous sites is a must, but it’s often the memory of wandering through a small village or sharing dinner with a local family that will leave a lasting impact.
We promise to share our knowledge and expertise with you, and ensure you will come home with stories you will tell for years to come.

Meals introduction
While travelling with us you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food available in the world. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. On our camping trips we often cook the region's specialities so you don't miss out. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, generally not all meals are included in the trip price. This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There's no obligation to do this though.

Style descriptions
Comfort is your style of travel if you want the whole grassroots experience with more inclusions, meals and creature comforts. While accommodation is predominantly tourist class (3-4 star), on some itineraries there is the opportunity to stay with a local family, spend the night on a train or camp out in exotic places (without putting up your own tent of course). Along the way, you'll really experience the destination up close. You'll mingle with locals, enjoy a taste of their way of life and gain special insights from your leader. This is not luxury travel, but real world experiences - just with a softer landing!
