Our cruise was awful. There were so many hidden charges, the food was awful and it was so boring. We got stuck at sea for an extra day and the private island stop was cancelled, with a pool capacity of 15 it didn’t allow for much swimming or much to do. The food was so bland and dining room food was the same as the cafeteria food only difference is they waited on you. It was a waste of money and we could hardly wait to get off.

ACIS is great about taking care of all the details. As an educator and trip leader I appreciate this. I was able to enjoy our school trip to Ecuador, together with my students and chaperones.
The hotels and location were great. My students were able to naturally interact with the locals. The food was amazing. The people at each of the restaurants and hotels, as well as the guides went above and beyond. The quality of the meals, the hotels, and activities were awesome. I highly recommend ACIS travel to anyone thinking of student travel.
I also appreciated the flexibility of our tour guide and his connection with not only the students but the chaperones. We felt like we were with family.
I had peace of mind the entire trip, even with an emergency one of our chaperones had.
I will travel again with my students, with ACIS!!!!

Sailed on the brand new Rotterdam. I'll keep it simple and sour: Staff seemed overworked and unpleasant the first 3 days. They then warmed up, but still had the majority as unpleasant to minority-very pleasant. Never an above and beyond experience. Food was mediocre. Dining room at the end of the ship, rocking about. Purchased watches which led to the most horrible and violating experience between ship staff and Florida Customs Officers. It was essentially a scam between the cruise and Customs Agents which led to a fine of over $800 for 2 watches priced at $2200 and $900 respectively. Rooms were exceptionally small, even for a cruise, though very modern and stylish. Too bad the dispensers were broken in the bathroom. Do not take Holland America; you have been warned.

Mindboggling how poor customer service is. I have send in 4 times a request for a call back and I receive an automated email that it can take up to 4(!) weeks before an employee calls me back. Today our cruise would start in Civitavecchia but we did not go and will loose the funds. We did not want to board before some normal questions were answered. Never again a booking at HAL, that is for sure.

Every trip has exceeded my expectations and I would NEVER take my students abroad with any other company. If you plan to offer a trip to your students, friends or colleagues, choose ACIS.

Our trip to Peru which has been planned for the past year came to a halt with the political issues happening there. ACIS was monitoring this until it was not able to happen. Fortunately, Jill and her team were able to update our trip 35 days prior to departure to give us an amazing experience in Ecuador. Our tour through the Andes and Amazon was an experience like no other. We stayed in a hotel that was only accessible by boat, a hotel next to a waterfall/thermal waters and a hotel that Simon Bolivar stayed at 300 years ago. ACIS was also cognisant of the best airlines to use. We typically use Newark (from NJ) but when they suggested JFK, I knew it was in our best interest as the flight times would not have us wasting time with a long layover. I know it is not easy to do a 180 like this but thank you as always for making an experience unforgettable for our students. I look forward to my 17th trip (14th overall with ACIS) this summer!

Maar door omstandigheden kunnen we die niet door laten gaan .
(Gezondheid) ik belde hing vervolgens 1,5-2 uur aan de lijn eindelijk contact mijn vraag was hoe veel het kostte om te annuleren . Degene wist dit niet ik zou een belletje terug krijgen . Ik krijg een mail terug alles geannuleerd en het hele reservering bedrag weg maar ik had ook geen keuze meer dat vindt ik belachelijk dan had ik de cruise verzet

Die Route in die Südsee war traumhaft. Die Organisation unterirdisch schlecht. Die Crew war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Aber anscheinend müssen die alle Wünsche der Gäste erfüllen. Und das ist bei Gästen die zu 90% aus USA kommen problematisch. Die leben Amerika First. Z. B. wurde bei vielen Tenderhäfen darauf hingewiesen, dass am Hafen Stufen sind undies nicht möglich ist mit einem Rollstuhl mit zu kommen. Dann stehen alle mit Rollstuhl am Boot und die Crew muss sehen wie sie das hin bekommt. Alle anderen müssen halt warten. Essen war ekelig, weil die AMIS essen wie die Sch….für soviel Geld, dass Anscheinend nur die Europäer bezahlen, muss ich mir so niveaulose Menschen nicht geben.
Und von der Crew sprechen viele nicht wirklich englisch. Was an der Rezeption oft schwierig war.

sie vermissen mein Feedback zu meiner Kreuzfahrt an Bord der Oosterdam.
Gerne bin ich bereit, Ihnen meine persönliche Beurteilung dieser Kreuzfahrt „Südamerika“ vom 10.03.23 bis 24.03.23 abzugeben.

Über dem Reiseveranstalter Berge & Meer haben wir Angelika Reimann und Bernd Dembkowski diese Kreuzfahrt gebucht.
Bereits nach meiner Registrierung am 02.11.22 auf Ihrer Internetseite HollandAmericaLine.com begannen die Probleme und auch der Ärger. Nach dem Login fand das System mein Konto, aber es konnte keine Buchung feststellen. Ebenfalls konnte auch der Reiseveranstalter Berge & Meer keine Buchung feststellen. Ich habe auch in dieser Angelegenheit HollandAmericaLine in Rotterdam angerufen. Dort fand man heraus, dass mein Nachname Dembkowski im System fehlerhaft erfasst wurde.
Bei Eingabe von Dembkowsk fand das System meine Buchung. Auch über den Umweg „Buchung verwalten“ konnte ich mich mit den Namen meiner Lebenspartnerin Angelika Reimann im System anmelden. Irgendwann konnte ich dann endlich den Check-in auf der Internetseite HollanAmericaLine durchführen und konnte die Bordkarten ausdrucken.

Dies war erst der Anfang vom Ärger. Für diese Kreuzfahrt sollten wir als Passagier die App Holland America Line NAVIGATOR auf dem Smartphone installieren. Bei meiner App wurde eine falsche Mariner-Nummer angezeigt. Ich habe diesen Fehler per Email in Englisch an HollandAmericaLine mitgeteilt. Ich konnte diese App nicht benutzen. Keine Reaktion Ihrerseits.
Die Tatsache, dass mein Nachname falsch erfasst wurde, hatte zur Folge, dass weitere Änderungen auch an Bord notwendig waren, damit ich überhaupt die App benutzen konnte. Es gab ebenfalls Unstimmigkeiten bei der Benutzung meiner Getränkekarte. Name auf der Karte ebenfalls falsch erfasst. Ich bekam an Bord vom Service dann eine neue Email-Adresse intern mitgeteilt und konnte die App Navigator und die Getränkekarte benutzen.

Beurteilungen zu Ihrem Service an Bord
Die Speisen an Bord waren sehr vielseitig und sehr gut. Ausgezeichnete Küche. Zimmerservice und Service im Gastronomie-Bereich sehr gut. An Bord der Oosterdam waren nur sehr wenig deutsche Passagiere. Die Anzahl war so gering, dass wir als Deutsche vom Kapitän überhaupt nicht erwähnt wurden. Wir wurden total ignoriert. Mein Englisch ist nicht perfekt. Ich kann mich dennoch einigermaßen in Englisch verständigen. Allgemeine Information vom Kapitän oder vom Kreuzfahrtdirektor habe ich aber nicht verstanden. Die Klimaanlage in der Kabine konnte nicht richtig eingestellt werden. Das Servicepersonal hat nach meiner Information die Raumtemperatur in unserer Kabine gemessen, es blieb aber weiterhin sehr kalt. Dier Folge daraus sehr stark erkältet. Auch im Allgemeinen war die Klimaanlage an Bord nicht richtig eingestellt. Wir haben insgesamt nur drei- oder viermal unser Dinner im Dining Room auf Deck 3 eingenommen, da es dort viel zu kalt war.

Anmerkung zum Showprogramm
Die Qualität der Künstler möchte ich auf keinem Fall in Frage stellen. Es fanden leider mehrere Wiederholungen statt.
Der argentinische Künstler und Illusionist war sicherlich auf seinem Gebiet sehr gut, gezeigt hat er diese aber nicht. Die Show war etwas für einen Kindergeburtstag. Sehr enttäuschend. Das Kinoprogramm eine Zumutung und geschmacklos.

Horrible Guest Relations staff before and after cruise April 2023

Guest relations before and after the cruise are horrible. Conflicting and flat out wrong information, unhelpful. I almost canceled the cruise several times before leaving. It was that bad. Now I have been double charged for the same excursion which I have been trying to get fixed for two months. Last comment was they were waiting to hear from the ship. Since it was the excursion from the ship to the airport so how would the ship know? I provided dates, confirmation numbers.... everything they needed... should take five minutes to figure out. No more HAL cruises for me. Might only be an excursion this time but I see this is common for lots more money in many reviews provided. Sad ...as the on board experience was mostly good and we had lots of cruises planned for both us and family and friends.... not any more with HAL Not worth the hassle when there are so many other cruise lines

Currently on board the Nieuw Amsterdam approaching Freeport, Bahamas. Pluses? Pinnacle Grill is excellent as are our two cabin stewards, Madee and Rosa. That's where it ends. Food is at best mediocre, buffet selection is terrible, buffet hours are pathetic! 24 hour dining options? Non existent short of room service which has a very meager selection. Entertainment? Nothing like we were promised. We booked Holland America for the more immersive experience of enrichment lectures, the Lincoln Center for classical music, etc...forget about either one! Lincoln Center is closed! Why? It's been replaced by the "Dance Company" at the main stage...otherwise known as the standard evening shows. One has nothing to do with the other!! Enrichment lectures have been one talk about "Life under the Surface" and another about rum...that's it!. We feel completely ripped off, having spent over 6k for what amounts to a boring boat ride for a week we could have enjoyed on a real vacation elsewhere. Heck, we would have had a much better week staying home! Don't waste your money or time. Needless to say my wife and I are very angry at this pathetic cruise and deserve a refund. We’ve talked to many others who feel the same. I normally write balanced reviews with but it's hard to when the positives are so, so few.

Regretting my decision to book with Holland America. I have been on the phone for over an hour to get the address to our hotel upon arrival... no one can provide this information. Sad. Customer service is poorly trained all the way around. Terrible service. You know that gut feeling when you call the first time and get poor service (first impression), listen to your gut it's usually right. Wish I could cancel this upcoming trip.
