Quality trips at affordable prices! I love Gate 1!

I have used Gate 1 in the past and they have been great. BUT if you have an issue you are completely screwed. The insurance providers they recommend are a scam! Let’s talk about the Corona Virus right now and how it’s spreading over seas and it’s not in anyone’s best interested to travel there. We were supposed to be going to Bavaria and several cases just popped up there. We definitely canceled and my request was denied for any refund what so ever. They don’t tell people different levels of insurance only ONE! Which does no good. Last year we had an issue with the weather, we didn’t have insurance but told if we did everything would have been taken care of. Well that’s a straight up lie because this insurance doesn’t mentioned weather at all as well. Stop scamming people ! Go to your banks and file a claim on them!

Phenomenal 16-day tour of Italy! The pace was great and we were able to see many areas from the lakes region all the way down to Rome. The hotels were conveniently located, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Our tour guide, Luca, was amazing...so knowledgeable with regard to the history of each of the areas in which we traveled, very helpful when directing us to restaurants, upbeat all the time. 16 days and not one issue. Highly recommend Gate One!

Costa Rica in 2018. Fabulous experience! Our tour guide was a biologist, so he knew everything about the flora/fauna and geography! Beautiful and very affordable!

The staff at Gate 1 go the extra mile as I can verify! When you book a trip with them they help you every step of the way and verify everything! Fern is THE best! And their tour guides are awesome. Our guide in China last April "Louise" was wonderful and made sure our trip was one to remember forever. Looking forward to two more this summer!

We had an excellent time on our trip to Portugal because of our trip manager Rui and a bus driver Pedro. Rui did go above and beyond. Local guides were excellent, especially Augusta in Lisbon. I am a travel lover and have traveled a lot. Gate 1 provides a very broad view of the cities. No museums or zoo or aquarium were covered on this trip. But the reason Gate 1 is getting 3 out of 5 stars is because of the flights. We were promised straight flights when we were booking the trip. Initial straight flight to Portugal was switched with connection. Then out return straight flight was switched with connection. Why do I want to fly 20 hours when its 8 hr flight to Europe from USA?
Unlikely the flights were booked right away when I payed for the trip.

We booked the deal with direct flights guaranteed as part of the deal, payed in full right away. Direct flights were changed to connecting. Gate 1 didn’t leave up to the promise.
Anyway, I do not want to argue. My rating will not change

Just got back from our first Gate 1 trip. Iceland was terrific we saw everything we wished for and our tour guide Dagny Rose was amazing she went above and beyond to ensure a safe fun trip. The fellow guests were great as well.We will be traveling again with Gate 1.

Best tour pkgs, best booking agents, friendly website, best tour managers, best travel experience. We completed 18 tours with them.

Stay away from this organization! They only refunded $40 of my $1,439 deposit (which covered travelers insurance) when I cancelled my trip. They also kept changing my balance due on my account from the original $1,245 to over $1,600. Shoddy company, HORRIBLE customer service, Be very careful in your dealings with them.

I have always made friends on their tours. For some reason they get friendly travelers. Was single when I used them. Fun people.

We loved our trip to Thailand with Gate1. The trip took us across the entire country, and Mike Tharaplant, our guide, was both educational and entertaining. The right tour guide can make a huge difference, and ours experience was excellent. Will definitely be booking with Gate1 again for our next trip! Can't recommend highly enough!

Our trip in January 2020 to Myanmar did have many issues and bad experiences. After return we did contact Gate1 multiple times on the phone and e mails.No solution and respond.Be avare that Gate1 will not help you with any issue or problems after they get your money.This was very disappointing experience on our bucket list trip.

Very bad service. Long wait time on urgent mails due to coronavirus. very big costs on wait time on phone support. And advisors dont know anything about their own job.

The customer service ended up costing us 100euro+ in fees. And their advice cost us 700 euro instead of helping us they made it worse. Plus our vacation is partly ruined.

Never again.

Gate 1 Travel - look for another option. They have made me a flight reservation to transfer in Houston in 40 minutes. They say it is a "legal" transfer time and if I want to change the reservation Gate 1 made I can do so but I'll have to pay more or spend the night in the airport Look elsewhere. Poor customer service...
