Northern Laos Explorer

Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Chiang Rai.

Arriving into Chiang Rai you will be met and taken to your hotel, with the rest of the day to relax after your flight.

This morning you will head on to the border, where you will meet your Laos guide and start your exploration of Northern Laos. You will drive on to Luang Nam Tha, with two nights at Boatlanding Guesthouse.

Spend the day trekking in Luang Nam Tha National Park.

Driving southeast, you pass through more beautiful countryside and arrive in Muang La, a remote village deep in the heart of northern Laos. Here you will have three days in this beautiful area.

Explore the area by jeep, heading out to some remote villages.

Head out on foot today, enjoying a full day trekking.

Continuing through northern Laos today you reach the riverside community at Nong Khiaw, a spectacular river journey. Stay in a wooden bungalow on stilts on the banks of the River Ou.

Head out with your guide to enjoy some great trekking between three minority villages.

Head on to Luang Prabang, the spiritual heart of Laos. Afternoon at leisure.

A chance to take part in a ritual that has been going on in this spiritual town since time immemorial - alms giving to the local population of monks at dawn. You then return to your hotel for breakfast before spending the day with your own private guide and driver exploring the delights of Luang Prabang followed by a trip to the scenic waterfalls at Kuang Si.

A visit to the nearby countryside and a chance to get involved with the local community, donating a "bucket of books" and enjoying exploring this lovely area.

A final day to relax in Luang Prabang before you transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
