In opvolging van review hieronder van Marijke over de Rotterdam en corona. Wij zijn 26 aug opgestapt voor 14 dagen Noorwegen, IJsland en Schotland. Wij zijn ook met Corona thuisgekomen, dus dat heerste ws al bij de vorige cruise.
Tenderprocedure met zo’n groot schip is een drama. Uren wachten voordat je van t schip kan. Excursies veel te duur; voorbeeld: whale watching op IJsland zelf geboekt voor 89 euro pp. HAL biedt dezelfde excursie aan ( echt dezelfde!!) voor 189 USD. Per persoon.
Pluspunt was t goede eten, maar weegt niet op tegen de negatieve ervaringen…heel jammer..

My recent experience with Holland America Cruise was nothing short of a disappointment. I feel compelled to leave a one-star review to warn others about the issues I encountered during my voyage.

One of the most frustrating aspects of my cruise was the exorbitant charge of over $400 USD for internet access. I expected to stay connected during my trip, especially in this digital age, but the reality was far from what I anticipated. The internet in our staterooms turned out to be utterly useless, despite the hefty fee we had paid for it.

After numerous complaints to the cruise staff, I was told that I shouldn't expect to have any internet access in our rooms, which, in this day and age, is incredibly inconvenient and unacceptable.

The internet speed test shows 0.17 Mbps download speed and a pitiful 0.1 Mbps upload speed. These speeds are practically unusable for any meaningful internet activities.

The icing on the cake was the unhelpful customer service. They were dismissive and failed to provide any viable solutions to the internet issues we faced. This lack of assistance left a sour taste in my mouth and made me question the overall quality of service provided by Holland America Cruise.

In conclusion, my experience with Holland America Cruise was marred by exorbitant fees for non-functional internet access, lackluster speeds, and unhelpful customer service. I cannot recommend this cruise line to anyone who relies on internet access during their travels, and I hope my review serves as a cautionary tale for others considering booking with them.

It took several tries to get my problem corrected. I still can’t sign into my account using my email address, because it takes me to a previous trip. I have to sign in with a number I can’t remember as my username. I tried changing my username in that new account, and even after doing that, it tried to take me back to the account with my old trip. Seems your system can’t handle more than one trip for a person, so now I have to reenter all my information. Also, now my husband is having the same issue, so he’ll have to get a different ID to be able to enter a payment, and we’ll have to reenter all his info.

Nederlands personeel is arrogant
Grotendeels bestaat de bemanning inclusief kapiteins en hwtks uit narcisten die doen nooit iets verkeerd uiteraard echt goede leiding ontbreekt het opleidingscentrum aan boord is wel heel goed dat scheelt dan weer
De hygiene aan boord is niet zoals het hoort te zijn zwart water leidingen (wc water met inhoud) zijn vaak aan het lekken in de gangen waar de hutten van de gasten zich bevinden
Goed salwiko brandblus systeem voor monitoring op de brug
Enkel heeft elke hut een brandmelder met 9 volt batterij die moeten vervangen worden wat tot een complete dagtaak leidt van de tweede stuurman safety die mag niet alleen de hut in maar altijd met 2 personen en het liefst enkel als de passagier aanwezig is in de hut
Het feit dat mensen tijdens zwaar weer over het dek buiten kunnen lopen is onverantwoord maar het wordt juist wel gedaan ze kunnen wel overboord slaan niet goed geregeld
Een fitnessruimte boven het brugdek
Is waardeloos omdat het gebonk van hardlopende mensen doorklinkt op de brug waar genavigeerd wordt compleet waardeloos
Condooms gratis in bakken bij het hospitaal/ infirmery dat leidt tot sex onder de bemanning ergens goed anders heb je ook nog allemaal soas
Maar sex onder de bemanning is schering en inslag en uiteraard wisselende partners echt waardeloos iedereen gaat met iedereen gewoon idioot daar moet ook een policy voor komen
Daarnaast krijgen personeelsleden een bonus als ze iemand kunnen aanwijzen die goed zijn werk doet ze kunnen dan ook eerder opklimmen
Dat is echt een ingredient voor complete corruptie en anarchie en dat gebeurt ook een waardeloos systeem (amerikaans?)
Werknemers gedragen zich arrogant alsof het rijke gasten zijn die veel geld en spullen bezitten en een meer dan goed leven kunnen leiden om nogal beschaafd te stellen

Holland Amerika Line doe hier wat mee want je verliest aanzien en de waarderingen zijn zeer ondermaats

Onze 10e Cruise met de HAL , maar tevens onze laatste .19 augustus naar Noorwegen , met de Rotterdam. De derde dag begonnen er al verschillende mensen te hoesten en te niezen, het werden er steeds meer, waar onder ook ik zelf. De dag voor vertrek kreeg ik koorts, en bij thuiskomst, na testen,CORONA. 2 dagen later mijn man ook. Bij het van boord gaan, liepen er meer mensen verrot erbij. Het eten was niet meer zoals jaren hiervoor, behalve in het Tamarind, helemaal top. Al het personeel in het restaurant,en de jongens die de hutten reinigen, ook prima. Hutten kleiner geworden, evenals het Badhok .Tijdens het afdrogen ging steeds de handdoek tegen de wc-pot, zo klein is alles geworden. Nooit meer Holland Amerika line

Wij hebben 3 weken een fantastische cruise gehad met de Zuiderdam naar Noorwegen, IJsland, Schotland. Het eten was heerlijk, onze hut prima, 2 keer per dag schoongemaakt, zeer vriendelijk personeel, en goede service aan boord. Alleen 's avonds bij het diner soms in de rij staan, werd erg ingewikkeld via de computer gekeken waar je kon zitten, terwijl er genoeg ruimte was. Dit is een verbeterpunt. En het tenderen liep soms niet vlot. Maar volgende keer weer HAL.

I LOVE ACIS! Having traveled with other companies, I believe ACIS is the best in the biz. I have taken several trips with them and plan to continue. This last summer one of my students noted how much better their experience was with this trip versus a trip the previous year with another company. Time is the most valuable commodity in travel. ACIS finds central lodging, saving valuable time!

Topcruise tot & met . Verbleven in vista suite . Toni & zijn tweede hand kwamen 2 keer per dag kamer opruimen . Na de uitstappen gingen we heel graag naar het Dutch café , ook allemaal toppers daar . Hamza in het hoofdrestaurant deed alles om het naar onze zin te maken . Hoop zeker nog met jullie te cruisen . Sorry als ik de namen van al die mensen die onze vakantie vergeten ben niemand deed onder . Prachtig ship , lekker eten mooie uitstappen . Mijn quote is 5 sterren waardig .

Het toilet zit constant verstopt in onze stateroom. Als je er iets van zegt bij de guestservices wordt het probleem gewoon weggelachen. We betalen voor een 4 sterren cruise zonder het comfort te hebben van een eigen werkend toilet. Never again.

Trips balance educational content and experiences with free time for travelers to explore on their own.

The ACIS website provides comprehensive information for all parties involved in the planning and traveling for all trips. Communication, both through webpages and ACIS staff is always a priority.

I had an arctic air excursion while on the cruise that was cancelled because the flight did not get enough people. 2 weeks later I am still waiting for my refund. I spent 30 minutes of my time today speaking to Max from Holland America in guest relations department. I was told that she now has to check that my excursion was indeed cancelled and then she will initiate a refund. I am back to square A. When I asked Max for the name of her supervisor she stated that she has none and there is no one above her position . Once the conversation with Max was completed, I should have been transfered to take a survey about the call but Max made sure that I got disconnected. Extremely poor customer service. I will NOT be considering Holland America for my future cruises.
