As you follow the delectable scent of sizzling bratwurst and freshly baked pretzels from bustling Berlin to Bavarian Munich, your eyes will be as pleased as your taste buds. The elegantly restored city of Dresden, the charming medieval town of Rothenburg, the Passion Play pilgrimage town of Oberammergau, and the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle present picture-perfect backdrops for your memory books. While Munich’s theatrical Glockenspiel clock may announce the time three times a day, the lively Biergarten throughout Germany will happily tell you it’s always “beer thirty.”

Day 1
ARRIVE IN BERLIN, GERMANY Welcome to Berlin! At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and travel companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel. (D)

BERLIN Historic Berlin BERLIN Join a guided sightseeing tour of the city’s historic sites. Free time this afternoon and evening. (B) TOUR HIGHLIGHTHISTORIC SPOTS Explore the historic city of Berlin. Stop at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the symbolic heart of West Berlin, its towers rising as a symbol of peace between nations. NEUSCHWANSTEIN–OBERAMMERGAU–MUNICH Bavarian Blessings OBERAMMERGAU Stop in the beautiful Bavarian village to see the outdoor auditorium where the Passion Play is held once every ten years.MUNICH Enjoy free time this afternoon and evening. (B) 106 mi / 170 kmTOUR HIGHLIGHT HISTORY & TRADITION Centuries ago, the residents of the beautiful Bavarian village of Oberammergau made a promise to God to re-enact Christ’s Passion if he would spare them from the Black Plague of 1633. Since then, hundreds of local townspeople perform this epic production every 10 years in Oberammergau. Stroll the picturesque town and see the large outdoor auditorium.

Our guide and driver were fantastic
I had hoped for a smaller group but when I got here the small group did not exist.. there were 42 people, not the 25 I signed up for.
There was a great deal of sitting and I would have liked to get off the bus more often. The bus was nice and the train was really nice. In all it was good.
