Short Description
This 10-night vacation allows you to experience South Africa's wildlife and culture! Begin with a few days in Cape Town. Here, you'll take a tour of the Cape Peninsula, complete with a visit to Boulder Beach! You'll also take a full-day tour of the Winelands! Experience some of the finest wine regions in the country, and visit the charming town of Stellenbosch.
Then, you'll travel to Durban and St. Lucia for a night each. Take a hippo & crocodile boat tour on the St. Lucia Estuary before you continue on to Mkuze! Also spelled Mkhuze or uMkhuze, this will be the first game reserve stay of your trip! Partake in scheduled safari activities that are included with your stay. Savor the opportunity to catch the Big Five in action! Make sure your camera is on and charged!
After Mkuze, travel to Thanda for another game reserve stay! Thanda is set in the African bush, where lanterns and firelight will guide your way. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, and elephants!
Return to Durban to explore the Umhlanga neighborhood for the final night of your trip! Then, you'll pack up and fly home while your South African memories stay close to your heart.
Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to Cape Town!
Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Check in, freshen up, and spend the rest of the day at leisure!
Day 2 Cape Town
After breakfast, you will depart for your full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula! Return to your hotel at the end of the day.
Day 3 Cape Town
Today, you will take a full-day Winelands tour! Highlights of the day include the Paarl Wine Region and the town of Stellenbosch!
Day 4 Cape Town - Durban
This morning, you'll be transferred to the Cape Town Airport for your flight to Durban. Arrive in Durban, where you'll be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 5 Durban - St. Lucia
Continue on to St. Lucia today! The drive will take approximately 2.5 hours. Check into your new hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 6 St. Lucia - Mkhuze
This morning, you'll depart for your Hippo & Croc Boat Cruise! Then, you'll be transferred to Mkhuze. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 7 Mkhuze
Mkhuze Game Reserve is situated in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. It is home to 420 different bird species alone! Spend your day participating in included scheduled safari activities, and keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, crocodiles, and more!
Day 8 Mkhuze - Thanda
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Thanda Private Game Reserve. Your time here includes daily lunch and dinner, plus scheduled safari activities!
Day 9 Thanda
The Thanda Private Game Reserve offers the opportunity to catch the Big Five in action! Through scheduled safaris and activities, you'll experience diverse wildlife and plant life.
Day 10 Thanda - Durban
Depart after breakfast and head back to Durban for your final night! Spend the day at leisure. Explore the Umhlanga Rocks area, and feast your eyes on this charming resort town. Celebrate the end of a fantastic trip tonight with a delicious dinner!
Day 11 Depart South Africa
You'll be transferred today to the Durban Airport for your flight home!

Wasn’t a great experience or Great Value
Booking travel deals online can be hectic because you don’t have a direct contact person. You call a 800- number if there is a issue and you get who you get.
I had an issue with my PNR number not working when it was time to
Check in for the plane and because it took me almost 2 hours when I finally got checked in, we were the last seats on the very back of the airplane. Well you deal with it because you’re going to Hawaii.. just happy to have a seat.it was frustrating calling the airlines and I was directed back to Great Value ..
We got that issue resolved.
Now we get to the hotel and was told the daily resort fee was double the amount that we were quoted.
The quote we were given verbally over the phone was $29.98 and when we got to the resort it was 59.98 . It wasn’t a issue with the price , it’s the inconsistency of getting the correct info when you call and it’s not explained thoroughly in the paper work, and hotels aren’t to kind when you book thru 3rd party contracts. It appears everything is a good price but you are on the bottom of the totem pole for everything .. plane rides .. very last group and seat , back of the hotel airport bag fees.. not so sure this was a great value and no one cares after they get your money . I’m still waiting for a Manager to call me back and my vacation is over
