The extensive photo exhibits and intact secret KGB spying equipment helps you in envisioning imprisonment in these cold, damp and narrow cells. Keep your camera ready -- Trakai Castle is one of the most photographed places in Europe. This historic and world-famous Gothic Palace was built by Lithuanian Dukes and once served as their residence. The main building, consisting of 3 wings, housed the oldest museum established in Poland in 1805 to preserve the memory of the Sobieski family and represent spectacular national history moments of the time, including the Battle of Vienna in 1683 against the Ottoman Empire. The residence complex extended by large gardens and lake-side promenade, fortunately avoided deeper destruction in 1939-1945. After detailed renovations in 2010 and 2011, Wilanow Palace presents its valuable collection of royal furniture, portraits and china. Departs at 2:00 pm. Pick-up details to be advised locally.
