Accommodation
Zarafa Camp | Selinda Reserve
Zarafa Camp is an intimate, four room exquisite tented camp located on the 320,000 acre Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana, an area linking the Okavango Delta and the Chobe/Savute corridors. Its villa, the Dhow Suites, consist of two tents and private main area and operates entirely independently of main camp. Few camps rival the location of this little gem, Botswana’s first and only Relais & Chateaux property. Overlooking the crystal waters Zibadianja Lagoon, the source of the famous Savute Channel, every area of camp has a magnificent view. The lagoon is also the water source for a tremendous population of wildlife – dry season sightings boast buffalo and elephant by the hundreds. Zarafa Camp and Dhow Suites are the brainchild of the founders of Great Plains Conservation, who pooled their collective experience on safari to create what they deemed to be the best and most environmentally innovative camp. Zarafa has succeeded in successfully in retaining a clearly African feel, while balancing that delicate relationship between personal and informal and romance and adventure. Zarafa Camp has no equal in terms of its environmental credentials and its careful appointments.
Duba Expedition Camp | Okavango Delta
Duba Expedition Camp sits in the heart of classic Okavango Delta habitat. A matrix of palm-dotted islands, flood plains and woodland, the 77,000-acre private concession epitomizes the region’s unique landscape. Built on a wooded island, Duba Expedition Camp is connected to the prolific wildlife area by an elaborate set of bridges, the area is the base of many famous wildlife documentaries by National Geographic filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert. The intimate camp consists of six expedition-style tents of light, airy canvas on slightly raised decking, each with views of the surrounding floodplain. The main area is under sweeping marquis canvas, on raised decking and consists of an open-concept dining and lounge area which opens to the outdoors on all sides. Duba Expedition Camp prides itself on its extraordinary wildlife experiences, and rightly so, with regular sightings of a diverse range of species, including Greater kudu, tsessebe and large herds of Red lechwe. Elephant and hippo trudge happily through swamps and lion are regularly seen. Leopard, and nocturnal species such as Brown hyena can be sighted as well. Wildlife is a regular sight right in camp! Birds abound, and the area is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Okavango ‘specials’ include the rare Wattled crane, Pel’s Fishing owl, White-backed Night heron and Marsh owl.
Victoria Falls River Lodge | Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Victoria Falls River Lodge is the first private safari lodge to be set in the Zambezi National Park. This luxury canvas-under-thatch lodge is situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River – so close to Victoria Falls one can see the spray in the distance. Guests can combine a unique safari experience with visits to one of the world's most famous tourist destinations. The main lodge has an open plan design and is positioned just back from the river – in view of the elephants' natural evening route. Sit back and sip on a cocktail, under the shade of the thatched roof, as the elephants graze along the river line.
Royal Chundu Zambezi Island Lodge | Livingstone (Victoria Falls)
Tucked within the privacy and exclusivity of Katombora Island and protected by the Katombora rapids, this lodge offers guests a tranquil, luxurious and exclusive getaway. Absorb the pulse of the river from private decks and spacious rooms, surrounded by the island's whimsical Baobabs and 2000 year old Jackalberry trees. There are 4 magnificent villas at Island Lodge and an intimate boma area for outdoor evening meals, two lounges, a dining room, and an infinity pool. Cobalt blues and natural browns form the colour palette for the lodge and villas. Enjoy the tranquility and awe of a river canoe followed by a pampering at our river spa. Experience Africa’s magnificent wildlife during a day trip to Chobe National Park. Visit one of the natural wonders of the world and enjoy a picnic outing to Victoria Falls. Royal Chundu also offers incredible fishing and unparalleled birding. Choose to dine indoors in true ethnic elegance, or open air dining in the Chef’s boma’ where you will be treated to an authentic African barbeque and traditional song and dance.
