- Hotels in Havana are hard to come by these days. Be sure to book your tour well in advance
- Make reservations for dining at any of the city’s well known local restaurants, or paladares
- Watch for loose rocks and uneven surfaces when walking - especially around Old Havana
- Bring a backup SD card for your camera - Havana is quite photogenic
