Galapagos cruise on the Yolita II

Overview
Short Description
Boulder-like giant tortoises, diving marine iguanas, waved albatrosses taking flight… on a tailor-made holiday to the Galapagos Islands with Audley, you’ll see all their wildlife highlights — and much more — your way. We’ll design your ideal trip with you, paying close attention to your interests, your travel style and your budget. Our Galapagos specialists know the islands and their wildlife inside out, and can lead you to experiences and encounters you won’t find in a guidebook.
Take an adventure cruise around the archipelago, stopping to snorkel in waters brimming with tropical fish and sea turtles. Stroll among sea lions basking on beaches, and hike the cindery caldera of Cerro Negro Volcano. Pass blue-footed, red-footed and masked boobies on a guided walk with a conservation expert: the wildlife here has no fear of humans. Watch frigate birds’ showy, chest-puffing mating rituals.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Quito
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Quito. On arriving in Quito you're met by your private guide and taken to your hotel by private transfer. It usually takes an hour to get there, and your guide will provide you with all the relevant introductory information needed for your trip, such as hotel vouchers. Relax in your hotel after your flight.
Day 2 : Quito
Take a private guided walking tour of the highlights of Quito. Your guide shows you the city's highlights, such as colonial temples, monasteries and plazas. They'll also help you unravel the grand architecture of the Church of San Francisco. The tour lasts for three hours, ending at a viewpoint over the city. In the afternoon, you're free to keep exploring Quito at leisure. We recommend visiting one of the city's museums, such as the pre-Hispanic art museum Casa del Alabado.
Day 3 : Galapagos Islands
A private transfer will take you to the airport in time for your two hour flight to the Galapagos Islands. On arriving, you're met by members of the crew who will take you to the Yolita II.After being welcomed aboard and given a safety briefing, you'll set sail to Las Bachas, a beautiful beach area to get your Galapagos experience started. You'll begin excursions in the afternoon.
Day 4 : Galapagos Islands
Genovesa Island is a highlight of many Galapagos trips with the collapsed volcano formation playing host to large populations of frigates and the unforgettable red footed booby. You'll spend the day walking the paths of Darwin Bay and El Barranco as well as snorkelling in the sunken caldera.
Day 5 : Galapagos Islands
The cruise continues on to Bartolome Island where you'll hike to the summit, offering panoramic views over Pinnacle Rock. After you'll experience the volcanic rock of Sullivan Bay which makes way to a white coral sand beach, home to Sally Lightfoot crabs and sea lions.
Day 6 : Galapagos Islands
This morning enjoy a visit Isabela Island's tortoise breeding centre to see and learn about the iconic Galapagos Tortoise. In the afternoon you take a guided hike to the top of Sierra Negra Volcano. It's a steep climb but the views from the crater rim (the second largest in the world) are expansive.
Day 7 : Galapagos Islands
Continuing up the western coast of Isabela, the ship will stop at Elizabeth Bay for a panga ride to explore the mangroves, spotting sea turtles and penguins along the way. The afternoon will be spent at Urbina Bay, a reef that was raised out of the water from tectonic movement. You'll be able to snorkel here in addition to spotting land iguanas, sea turtles, rays and flightless cormorants.
Day 8 : Galapagos Islands
The morning visit to Tagus cove will allow you to walk this former whaler and pirate shelter, with stunning views of Darwin and Wolf volcanoes in the distance. The afternoon visit to Punta Espinoza will get you up close to the largest marine iguana colony in the Galapagos. The beauty of this remote part of Isabela puts the amazing wildlife into perspective.
Day 9 : Galapagos Islands
Today you'll visit Rabida Island for a walk along the red sand beaches created by unusually high iron deposits. Sea lions are typically abundant here and the trails will take you past an interesting lagoon surrounded by palo santo trees. After lunch you'll be able to relax at Playa Espumilla, one of the Galapagos' most beautiful beaches, with snorkelling options available to explore the coast.
Day 10 : International return flight
The trip finished with a visit to Daphne Island where the blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds and finches will wish you farewell. You'll then transfer to the airport in time for your flight back to mainland Ecuador and connection home.
Day 11 : International return flight
Arrive home today to complete your journey.

Company Reviews
I’ll use Audley for all my travel moving forward
The locations were perfect and the activities made the experience extra special.
I would definitely recommend Audley and especially Ewan to anyone looking for a more bespoke experience.
Unresponsive
I contacted Audley as they came recommended by Wilderness Travel, the company we traveled with previously.
I left multiple messages for their regional specialist Adam -- voice messages through his co-workers (Alec and Jacky), email, website inquiry -- he didn't reply. I finally spoke to another specialist at the office (Lydia) and pressed her to not take yet another message for Adam, but tell me honestly if they are interested in working on our itinerary or we should move on. She then told me that they are busy. Well, wish they had some integrity to tell me on the first call, so I didn't have to loose time on trying to contact their "specialist".
p.s. They sent their automated marketing message with ALL their trips listed in response to my website inquiry. In this message they included: "When you are ready...". I replied that, indeed, we are ready, as I explained in my inquiry -- ready, know where and when we want to travel and are inquiring if you are interested in creating a private journey for us. No reply! Instead, they sent another marketing message the next day (and after Lydia already told us that they are very busy and won't be able to make reservations.) The second marketing message had no option to "unsubscribe". Again, I replied to that message and asked them to stop spamming me with marketing materials.
UPDATE: Audley's Client Experience Executive reached out to me in response to this review. She apologized profusely and wanted me to know that my "feedback is being heard". She said that she spoke with the employees' manager to "ensure mistakes like this don’t happen again and provide additional training to support their growth." She also promised to ask the marketing to delete my name from their marketing list. I took her at her word.
I don't know if this interaction with the client experience executive convinced me to seek Audley's services in the future, but I promised her to include in my review this "status update".
There are much better travel companies than Audley
I’m booking for South Africa and they simply can’t accept that another company can provide a better itinerary at a lower price - even to the point of asking for the other quote and saying this is usual practice in the industry!! ( rubbish) . Totally unprofessional behaviour. Furthermore , sending me emails knocking my choice of hotel and safari park while at the same time promoting hotels that clearly have issues as evidenced by poor ratings on the major sites
I use another well known travel provider that actually provide high quality at a decent price
Audley are simply interested in selling the highest price hotels etc that give them the maximum profit rather than what is right for you
They love themselves and keep on saying nonsense such as “ I’m really pleased with what I’ve come up with and hope you are too “
They need to get real
I won’t reveal the name of the agent dealing with me as that’s probably unfair
Amazing Trip of a life time
Christmas in Thailand
Mark Hotham at Audley Travel helped us to put together the holiday of a lifetime. He helped us through the complexity of different start dates, advised on a suitable hotel and arranged a terrific trip to the Elephant Hills camp in the jungle.
The arrangements worked splendidly, the hotel in Khao Lak was first class and the Elephant Hills trip was magical.
Nothing was ever too much trouble for Mark and every effort was made to deliver the holiday we were looking for.
We have already recommended Audley travel to our friends and they will be our first choice of travel agency from now on.
