Itinerary
Day 1: Langjökull
Accommodation: Hotel Húsafell
Arriving into Reykjavík, transfer by private car through scenic fjordland to Húsafell in west Iceland. En route, your guide will show you the highlights of Borgarfjörður, including Hraunfossar waterfall, and stop to visit the residents of Háafell Goat Farm.
Day 2: Langjökull
Accommodation: Hotel Húsafell
Begin your day at Víðgelmir lava cave: a huge cavern formed thousands of years ago by a volcanic eruption. The adventure continues this afternoon as you join a small-group guided tour to Langjökull glacier and venture inside, exploring its subterranean network of icy tunnels.
Day 3: Langjökull
Accommodation: Hotel Húsafell
Your next stop is the Snæfellsnes Peninsula where your private guide will take you to see seals basking lazily on Ytri Tunga beach, marvel at Kirkjufell Mountain, and see the massive Snæfellsjökull glacier, which feature in Jules Vernes’ Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
Day 4: Hella
Accommodation: Hotel Rangá
Journey south with your guide to the famed Golden Circle region. Walk between the diverging tectonic places in Þingvellir National Park, see an erupting geyser at Geysir Geothermal Area and get up close to thundering Gullfoss waterfall. You’ll also stop at Laugarvatn Fontana and see how they bake traditional Icelandic bread in the ground using nothing but geothermal energy. Of course, you will be able to taste the bread too.
Day 5: Hella
Accommodation: Hotel Rangá
Your focus today is Iceland’s rugged south coast. On your private tour, you’ll wander below the towering basalt columns of Reynisfjara beach, walk behind the falls at Seljalandsfoss, and feel the spray of Skógafoss waterfall. You’ll also join a small-group horse-riding tour along one of the area’s distinctive black sand beaches and learn more about the unique qualities of the stocky Icelandic horse.
Day 6: Reykjavík
Accommodation options: Centerhotel Miðgarður, Hotel Borg, celandair Hotel Reykjavík Marina & Reykjavík Residence Hotel
Head to Iceland’s capital via the Reykjanes Peninsula: this craggy landscape is dotted with volcanic craters, steaming fumaroles and mossy lava fields. Discover bubbling mud pools and startlingly blue turquoise lakes with your guide, and explore this barren landscape used by NASA to train astronauts for Apollo missions to the moon. At the end of your tour, you’ll check into your hotel in Reykjavík.
Day 7: Reykjavík
Accommodation options: Centerhotel Miðgarður, Hotel Borg, celandair Hotel Reykjavík Marina & Reykjavík Residence Hotel
Venture out onto the water on a small-group whale-watching tour and see these gentle giants up close. If you’re visiting in the summer, you’ll also have the chance to see puffin colonies that come to nest on Iceland’s coast each year. You’ll have this afternoon at leisure to explore Reykjavík.
Day 8: Return home
Enjoy a final morning at leisure in Reykjavík before taking a private transfer to Keflavík airport in time for your onward flight.

The Best of the Best
Are they the cheapest in the world? No but the service they provide is exceptional and in my view worth every single penny.
The planning process was well thought out and executed, we even had a zoom call with a country expert to ask questions and listen to advice before our trip.
The paperwork they provide for you to take with you is well packaged and easy to read etc. The back up service is there and we even had an email after we had landed home saying they had checked our flights had landed on time and they hope everything had gone to plan.
Super Stacey!
Stacey Lockhart has been amazing
So excited
Thank you Stacey

Authentic and seamless first trip with Audley
Every hour and excursion is well thought out and stitched together seamlessly by Holly at Audley. Our itinerary sent us on a wonderful, magical tour of Peru where we met by top notch drivers and guides taking us to the most magical places.
Laura our guide in Arequippa was second to none, giving us great insight and knowledge into Peruvian culture, history and landscapes. Laura took us off on walks, to villages and social interactions which we would never get with a usual tour operator. Away from the tourist traps, we experienced Peru in a completely authentic way. It was an education. Fully immersed in our travels, learning out the culture along the way, all we had to do was turn up. Our teenager was engaged every moment by our guides and their insight.
All the hotels were beautiful, well located and very clean. We stayed in Cusco, explored the area and trekked to Macchu Pichu with Alpaca Expeditions (arranged by Audley) – a great trekking company and well worth the experience. Everything went like clockwork; all we had to do was turn up and enjoy. We thoroughly recommend Audley to plan your trip. Well worth the money for their expertise and attention to detail in a very authentic, personal way with fantastic guides and drivers.
