Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Tel Aviv
Welcome to the modern, cosmopolitan city of Tel Aviv, which kickstarts your Travel with Faith journey through Israel and Jordan. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel to rest before your unforgettable encounter with many of the world’s holiest sites and in-depth insights into the history and culture of Israel. This evening, meet your Travel Director and fellow pilgrims for a Welcome Reception.
Day 2: Journey to Sea of Galilee
Today's sightseeing will whisk you back in time to the Old Testament and the old port of Jaffa, where Jonah set sail before he was swallowed by a whale. Today you’ll see first-hand how the port remains a busy hub for local fishermen and marketplace where vendors enthusiastically sell their gourmet delicacies you may get to sample yourself perhaps. One of your favourite Bible stories still fresh in your memory, you’ll continue to Caesarea, an ancient port built by Herod the Great in the 1st century BC. Admire what remains of Herod's grandiose building works, reminding yourself that these very ancient stones were stacked to create a city worthy of Caesar more than two thousand years ago. You’ll travel to UNESCO-listed Meggido, where it is said in the Book of Revelation that the Battle of Armageddon will take place. While this may be the site of the Final Battle, you’ll learn how the place you’re standing has seen many more battles throughout the ages. Your final stop today is Muhraqa on Mount Carmel where you’ll learn how this 17th-century monastery marks the place where the prophet Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal.
Day 3: Explore Capernaum and the Mount of Beatitudes
Sail on the Sea of Galilee where Jesus walked on water, then see the ancient Jesus Boat imagining that the ancient vessel or one like it would have carried Jesus and his disciples across Galilee’s waters. Continue to Capernaum, one of Israel’s most sacred Christian pilgrimage sites, to visit the 2nd-century synagogue feeling the significance of this holy place where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Bread of Life. Continue to Tabgha to see the site where Jesus proved that all things are possible with God and famously fed the five thousand with only five loaves of bread and two fish. Then, visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th-century mosaic floor, showing the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand. Proceed to the Mount of Beatitudes for deep moments of contemplation, where Jesus delivered his Sermon on the Mount. Return to your hotel later on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, stopping en route at Yardenit, the Baptismal site. You’ll want to revisit all those incredible memories you’ve made today with your fellow pilgrims over dinner at your hotel.
Day 4: On to Nazareth and Jerusalem
Travel to Cana, the place where Jesus manifested his glory and turned water into wine at a wedding feast. You’ll head next to Nazareth and the Church of the Annunciation, whose cupola overlooks the cave in which Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary to share the blessing that she would conceive and give birth to the Son of God. This is one of the holiest sites you’ll visit during your pilgrimage through Israel and you’ll quietly contemplate Mary’s consent to ‘let it be done’. View Gideon's Spring and learn how Gideon tested his army so he could decide who would join him in battle against the Midianites. Then marvel at Beit She'an, one of the world's best-preserved Roman cities with the Roman theatre, cardo and baths still visible for visitors to explore to this day. Drive to Jerusalem later, perhaps seeking out one of the rooftop bars for a nightcap with new friends and to view the glittering skyline, or get an early night’s rest as tomorrow you’ll dive into history on the ancient streets of Bethlehem.
Day 5: Discover Jerusalem
This morning’s sightseeing tour of Jerusalem's Old Town on foot will leave an unforgettable impression on you as you follow in the footsteps of the prophets, disciples and kings. Ascend the Mount of Olives, then stroll through the Garden of Gethsemane, spending some time in quiet contemplation of the agony of Jesus on the night of his arrest before his crucifixion. Our guide leads us into the Jewish Quarter, where we view the Western Wall where religious Jews cede their prayer notes to the wall’s many crevices that have been the backdrop to important events throughout the centuries. You’ll view the Dome of the Rock located on Temple Mount, learning how the importance of this sacred for both Muslims and Jews. Connect with the city's ancient spiritual past yourself and walk the Station of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, with every step taking the winding path that Jesus was forced to by Roman soldiers on the way to his crucifixion.
Day 6: Venture to Bethlehem
Today's trip to the Church of the Visitation at Ein Karem reminds us of the visit paid by the Virgin Mary to Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist. Here you’ll see the 42 ceramic tablets bearing the verses of the Magnificat in as many different languages. Next, you'll proceed to the Israel Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second Temple period, learning what the city would have looked like at the height of its heyday and the eve of the great revolt of the Jews against the Romans. Arriving later in Bethlehem, you’ll feel moved by being in the birthplace of Jesus and King David. Here you’ll meet a Local Specialist for a visit to the Church of the Nativity, built over the cave thought to be the spot where Jesus was born.
Day 7: Off to Admire the Masada Fortress and the Dead Sea
This morning we travel across the Judean wilderness like John the Baptist once did to preach the Word of God. Arriving in Jericho later, you can almost imagine the roar of trumpets and triumphant shouts that led Joshua's army to victory by the grace of God. See the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, then continue to the striking clifftop fortress of Masada. Ride by cable car to the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before plunging to their deaths. Explore the excavations of Herod's Palace with some free time later today to float in the Dead Sea, unlike any other swimming experience you’ve ever had. You’ll absorb its healing energy as you enjoy first-hand the effortless feeling of floating and bobbing in its warm waters.
Day 8: Cross Allenby Bridge to Jordan
After breakfast, the excitement builds as you transfer to Allenby Bridge where you'll cross the border to Jordan and meet your Jordanian Travel Director who will accompany you for the rest of the spiritual journey. You’ll enjoy a visit to the Bethany Beyond Jordan Lutheran Church, the site of Jesus' baptism before continuing to the white stone city of Amman. Dive headfirst into this effervescent Middle Eastern city’s exciting nightlife, perhaps taking a stroll along Rainbow Street and gathering new friends to share in a delicious meal of Mansaf and Falafel you’ll be dreaming about for years to come.
Day 9: Uncover the Treasures of Amman and Iraq al-Amir
This morning, we embark on a city tour of Amman. Our next stop is the Iraq al-Amir Women's Association for an unforgettable MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience where we’ll learn first-hand how the cooperative’s resident women make soap from olive oil and craft greeting cards and notebooks from recycled paper. Try your hand at making your own before enjoying a meal prepared by the women. You’ll know that through your visit you are helping these brave women preserve their local handicraft traditions and support their families. We continue to the ancient city of Jerash, a jewel in the ancient Roman empire, before returning to the seven hills of Amman. This evening, we Connect With Locals and enjoy a traditional Be My Guest experience with a Jordanian family in their home. This is a true local encounter with Jordanian hospitality and flavours that will not only your stomach, but also your heart.
Day 10: A Day Exploring Mount Nebo, Madaba and Shobak Castle
Today's trip takes us along the King's Highway, and you’ll be thrilled that you’re following the very same route that Moses hoped to follow as he led his people north. You’ll imagine that difficult journey watching the desolate landscape unfold before you as you head towards your next stop, the ancient trading city of Petra. But first, we'll visit Mount Nebo, the place where Moses is buried, to see the Madaba Mosaic Map that covers the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, ascending to the Crusader Shobak Castle later. Arriving in Petra, you'll join a Bedouin tribe for an incredible traditional dinner in their camp, under the clear night sky. You’ll gain a deep understanding of their nomadic way of life, enjoying an evening filled with folk songs, tea and delicious local flavours.
Day 11: Take in the Magnificent Petra and Continue to Wadi Rum
The rose-red façades of Petra beckon today as we Dive Into Culture and enjoy a full day to explore one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Carved into the sheer rock face over 2,000 years ago by Nabataeans, Petra was an important link in the Silk Road trade route. Enter the city through the Siq, a narrow gorge flanked on either side by cliffs soaring 130 feet (40 m). Emerge from the path and see the magnificent 40-metre façade of the Treasury. Leaving this ancient wonder behind, you'll trek through the timeless landscapes of the Wadi Rum desert, once described by T.E. Lawrence as 'vast, echoing and god-like.' Check into your luxury accommodation in Bedouin tents and soak up the endless desert landscapes. Watch a breath-taking sunset lighting up the surrounding sandstone mountains in brilliant golden hues, then gaze up as the day turns to night and the star-studded sky takes centre stage for the rest of the evening.
Day 12: Marvel at Desert Landscapes, Then Return to Amman
This morning, we embark on an adventure-filled jeep tour through the desert, then return to Amman for your final night in Jordan, enjoying a Farewell Dinner with your travel companions. As the sun sets on this magical city, listen to the mystical call of the muezzin and reminisce over an enchanting spiritual journey that has brought the incredible history and religious significance of this region to life.

Spain, RestroomTour and don't blink because you'll miss Portugal
Tour Guide: *Personal information removed by Feefo* Coach Drivers: *Personal information removed by Feefo* and *Personal information removed by Feefo*
My husband and I are calling this the Spain, Restroom Tour of Morocco and Don't blink because you'll miss Portugal Tour. This was our 3rd Trafalgar tour and our last Trafalgar tour. We booked this tour with our friends from Australia and Canada as a way to hang with each other while traveling. By the way, we met these friends on our first Trafalgar tour in 2013 and we traveled together with Trafalgar to Scandanavia in 2018. We were so looking forward to this tour, however, the experience was not up to par as in the past. In our first two tours, the majority of our dinners were included along with a Hidden Gem and a Trafalgar experience in every country that we visited. This was not the case with Spain, Morocco and Portugal Tour. We had very few dinners included and only one Trafalgar experience that was disappointing as several people got sick from the food. Please note that my complaints are with Trafalgar and not with our tour guide, *Personal information removed by Feefo*. *Personal information removed by Feefo* was wonderful, professional, full of energy, knowledgeable and very well organized. He kept our group of 47 people on time, on track and very well taken care of. We rarely had issues checking into our hotel or with portage or anything else that he had control of. The tour itself is the disappointment.
Spain: We began the tour in Madrid. Our city tour was disappointing to say the least. We traveled from our hotel by coach to the Palace for a group photo. We were told about buildings as we passed them on the coach but we never actually walked the old city or city center. We never got to see anything else. This was extremely disappointing. Next we were carted off to Toledo where once again, we were given a tour of doors and never shown the old city center or Plaza Mayor. We were taken to a place that sold Toledo jewelry which was beautiful but felt more like a sales pitch where someone was getting a kick back. We then went on to Granada for a very quick tour of the Moorish Palace but not the Spanish Palace and again we saw nothing else of the city. Next we were off to Costa de Sol which was very nice but again no tour other than optional experience to another town and for a meal by the beach. We could afford to take this optional but many could not afford this which meant they were stuck paying for another meal which in the past would have been included as part of the tour. After Costa de Sol, we stopped to view the Rock of Gibraltar for a 15 minute photo op. Then the stress really began.
Morocco aka The Restroom Tour: Once we reached the ferry, we had to carry our bags off and onto the ferry and then get in a massive line to get our passports stamped which ended up being extremely stressful for all of us. Once in Morocco, the tour became the tour of bathrooms. The destinations were so far from each other that the driver was forced to take frequent stops due to his time limit constraints. We literally were stopping for a restroom break every hour and a half or so which made for very long days and journey to Fez and Fez to Marrakesh and from Marrakesh back to Tangiers. Then again, we had to pay for an optional dinner in Fez and in Marrakesh. We took the options because the thought of attempting to eat anywhere in that country without our guides was a nightmare. And, I understand, that Trafalgar was trying to make us feel safe but having our tour guide, driver, Moroccan fixer, a bouncer and another local fixer and two police officers to ****** us from our coach to the restaurant does not in fact make us feel safe. Why are we here?! My husband and I did not participate in any tours or optional experiences (other than dinner) with the group while in Morocco. We stayed in our hotel both in Fez and Marrakesh because unless you were paying for the optional experiences there wasn’t any city tours only a visit to the Medina and to places where the fixer was obviously getting a kick back on the sales. Morocco in general felt like a tour of getting us tourist to purchase their goods whether it be carpets or spices or whatever else they were pushing on all of us rather than a cultural tour. Again, I’m sure the fixer and maybe even the guide were receiving a kick back because of how pushy they were to get us to spend money rather than seeing the sites. All in all, Morocco was disappointing and scary, It was a tour of bathrooms rather than city/cultural tours. Also, half the group got sick from their stomach which is not surprising. Although we were warned about not drinking the water, but more emphasis should have been on not eating produce or drinking juice which is also mixed with water or eating cold foods. My husband and I survived on bread and bottled water in Morocco.
Portugal: This portion of the tour was also disappointing. We only visited Lisboa where again we were not given a city center (old town) tour. We were shown a monastery and taken to two statues for photo opportunities. Lisboa’s old town is beautiful and so different due to its topography but no one saw that because we never had the opportunity to see it. We stayed in the newer part of the city which was nice but an hour from the downtown area of Lisboa. The tour then went to Fatima instead of Porto. Fatima was okay but not the cultural experience I was wanting. I would rather have seen Portugal’s other major city then experience a quick shopping experience and a visit to a shrine. No, that is not what I signed up for.
Spain: Back in Spain via Salamanca after leaving Portugal where we did walk to city center for dinner on our own (again this should have been included) but did not have a tour of the rest of the town except for a stop to take a group picture and then rush back to Madrid for lunch on our own. I would have rather gone on a tour of Salamanca then get back to Madrid for me to figure out where we would eat for lunch and what I was going to do with the rest of my day/time until our farewell dinner.
All in all, we loved Spain and enjoyed the little bit we saw of Portugal but the tour itself was extremely disappointing. There were too many disappointments. Consequently, this will be our last tour with your company. The standards have been diminished too much and yet the prices have only gone up. I feel I paid more and got a whole lot less and if friends ask me my opinion, I will tell them to go with another tour company as your tours are no longer worth the time or money.
Respectfully,
