Hike to the summit of Mount Bromo in time for sunrise for a truly humbling view, visit ancient temples such as the 8th century Borobudur complex for a glimpse of life in times past or enjoy the vibrant arts and crafts scene in Ubud for an insight into Indonesia's age-old culture. To experience traditional Indonesian life, cycle through the rice fields and rural villages of Bali's uplands where little has changed in centuries.
Itinerary
Day 1 : International outbound flight
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Yogyakarta.
Day 2 : Yogyakarta
On arrival at Yogyakarta airport you will be met by a representative from the Amanjiwo, who will transfer you to your hotel.
Day 3 : Yogyakarta
You are booked on Amanjiwo's Cultural Trails package which includes three complimentary private activities during your stay. Choose from such things as rice paddy martinis, a trip to Prambanan and of course a sunrise trip to Borobudur.
Day 4 : Yogyakarta
Enjoy your final day at Amanjiwo.
Day 5 : Bukit Peninsula
You will be taken to Yogyakarta city for the flight over to Bali.You will be met by an Aman representative who will help with speedy clearance through customs before you take the 30 minute car journey to Amanusa. The hotel's Italian and Thai restaurants are both well known as some of the best dining experiences on the island so why not give one a go tonight after your long day of travelling.
Day 6 : Bukit Peninsula
You are booked on the Aman Bali & Beyond package which includes one complimentary activity such as Balinese massage, cooking class, beach bale breakfast or Uluwatu temple tour.
Day 7 : Bukit Peninsula
Enjoy the day by the beach or lounging beside Amanusa's amazing pool.
Day 8 : Moyo Island
You will be taken back to the airport for one of the highlights of your trip - a float plane journey over the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa to Moyo Island and your home for the next few days, Amanwana. Touch down on the turquoise waters of Amanwana bay in front of the luxurious tented camp.You have all meals, non-alcoholic beverages, laundry, all short treks and non-motorised watersports included in your stay.
Day 9 : Moyo Island
You are booked on the Aman Bali & Beyond package which includes one complimentary activity such as massage, SCUBA dive or a trip to a remote jungle waterfall by Jeep.
Day 10 : Moyo Island
Enjoy your final day on Moyo snorkelling with turtles in the bay, taking a mountain bike out around the coastline or perhaps enjoying the famous 'honeymoon beach' where you are left alone on a deserted beach with nothing but an Aman picnic hamper and a walkie talkie.
Day 11 : Ubud
Fly back to Bali by float plane - you will pass over Mount Rinjani on Lombok which is one of the country's most beautiful volcanoes. You will be met at the airport and taken to Amandari, your home for the next few days in Ubud.
Day 12 : Ubud
You are booked on the Aman Bali & Beyond package which includes one complimentary activity such as a massage, guided trek, cycling trip, private dance class or market visit.
Day 13 : Ubud
Why not head in to Ubud today to see the arts and crafts the town is famous for.
Day 14 : Candidasa
Leave the hotel when you wish today. An Aman driver will take you across to the east coast and the Amankila - regularly voted as one of the best hotels in the world. You have the remainder of the day to relax.
Day 15 : Candidasa
You are booked on the Aman Bali & Beyond package which includes one complimentary activity such as a massage, morning cruise on Aman or an east Bali trek / cycle tour.
Day 16 : Candidasa
Spend your final full day in Bali enjoying the life of luxury!
Day 17 : International return flight
You will be taken to the airport for your flight home. Your return flight will arrive the same day.

We wanted to let you know that the trip exceeded expectations. We appreciated, connected and enjoyed each of our guides as unique people who shared their cities and culture with us. The couple of snafus were handled competently- the missing bus passes, train schedules that still were not quite right all fixed with the help of our Orientation guide! Dana was a great last guide- giving us Insight into religious practices, culture and living in modern Japan.
The accommodations were fantastic, we felt spoiled by the attention.
Our experiences with the people of Japan were wonderful. The random people we met were friendly and helpful - the Japanese businessman who led us to our train to make sure we got on the right one when we were a bit confused by the Tokyo train system early on...comes to mind, our language barrier was forgiven. Occasionally the google translator was called into service, and google maps was a godsend! Each of our interactions with local folks turned into a story and adventure, such as the restaurant owner who wants to be a football player for Atlanta!
We took over 1200 pictures most are breathtaking. I am having trouble trimming things down for a slide show to share with family and friends that won't last an hour or more!
I will include just a few here with our thanks for putting together an experience that we both truly enjoyed and will remember!

What stars Audley are
All locations and accommodation including the staff therein, were brilliant. The icing on the cake however, came when our long haul flight was cancelled with only hours to spare. An hour after emailing James, who was going on holiday that day, we had overnight accommodation organised, how to get there and what to do when there. When you’re a long way from home and something like happens, Audley will sort it. No problem. Thankyou.
Japan , our holiday of a lifetime
Audley took into account our budget. They booked mid range hotels that were fabulous and close to train networks for ease of travel.
I cannot think of one criticism at all. The G7 summit threw up some last minute problems with our booking which Jo dealt with on our behalf , she fully consulted us throughout.
Audley ensured we had the most amazing holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending them based on my personal experience and would definitely use them again if I were to have another long distance holiday.
