Get the feel for real country life at a Be My Guest experience with your host, Southern Girl Laura, who was born and raised on a sheep farm in the deep south of New Zealand. This morning, you’ll fly from Queenstown to Rotorua. This evening we visit Mitai where you’ll experience the heart-pounding wero (challenge) from a Maori warrior during the Powhiri, a ceremonial welcome. Feast on succulent meats and vegetables cooked in a hangi, the traditional Maori method of cooking in the earth.
Visit Rainbow Springs Nature Park for a tour with a 'Local Specialist'. Continue to the Living Maori Village Whakarewarewa and 'Dive Into Culture' to gain in-depth insights into the lives of the Māori people and the special bond they share with this ancient land. Today we journey north and join our 'Local Specialist' in a starry wonderland - a cavernous galaxy of twinkling bright green and blue glow worms that light up the Waitomo Caves. We continue to Auckland for a city tour and later, we'll join our Travel Director and new-found friends for a Farewell Dinner.
Bid farewell to your epic Antipodean adventure as you are transferred to Auckland Airport for your onward flight (flights anytime).
