A country by name, but a continent in scale, India in one word is diversity. To guide you where to go when faced with such rich variety, our India specialists use the experience of their own travels to create your tailor-made holiday to India.
The north is banded by the snow-crowned peaks of the Himalaya. Moving south, you pass through Rajasthan, a microcosm of India with its forts, palaces and temples, as well as the Taj Mahal. Central India shelters leopards, elephants and the Bengal tiger. In India’s northeast corner, Calcutta still exudes its colonial heritage in a landscape of Bengali mansions and neo-Gothic architecture. West-coast Mumbai is an improbable proposition — a hub of manufacturing where you can wander among Art Deco architecture or through a teeming bazaar. Down in India’s south, cruising Kerala’s backwaters on a converted rice barge is a suitably relaxed way to embrace this region’s laid-back approach to life.
Itinerary
Day 1 : International outbound flight
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Nagpur.
Day 2 : Pench National Park
Arriving into Nagpur Airport, you will make the short drive to Pench for two nights.You will enjoy your first afternoon at leisure. You might like to take a walk around the grounds of the hotel which are particularly good for bird spotting.
Day 3 : Pench National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris. As well as hunting for the elusive tiger, you will be able to look out for many of the parks bird species including the crested honey buzzard and paradise fly catcher.
Day 4 : Kanha National Park
One final morning game drive before your journey continues by road to the largest of the national parks, Kanha, where you will stay for three nights. Enjoy jeepsafaris into the park, village visits andbird watching walks here.
Day 5 : Kanha National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris. Kanha inspired Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book" and it's easy to see why with a flourishing wildlife population. There is the opportunity to spot tigers here when accompanied by your experienced guide.
Day 6 : Kanha National Park
Two more jeep safaris today. Keep a look out for the rare swap deer as well as bison, mongoose and jungle cat.
Day 7 : Bandhavgarh National Park
Final morning drive before continuing your journey by road to Bandhavgarh National Park, stopping en route at the Fossils National Park. Enjoy jeep safaris in Bandhavgarh National Park, including a visit to the imposing Central Fort which has views right across the jungle plains.
Day 8 : Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Bandhavgarh today. The flora is particularly fascinating here with towering sal trees and the striking flame of the forest plant.
Day 9 : Satpura National Park
Drive to Jabalpur this morning for a short train journey to Pipariya. On arrival transfer to Satpura National Park for three nights. Enjoy walking and elephant safaris and explore the Tawa Reservoir by boat.
Day 10 : Satpura National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris. You also have the opportunity to take a waking safari with a naturalist- the only national park where you can do so.
Day 11 : Satpura National Park
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris. You have the opportunity to see spotted deer and the striking Indian bison. With a good naturalist, there is also the chance of spotting tigers.
Day 12 : International return flight
Final morning elephant ride before you transfer to Bhopal Airport for your onwards flights.
Day 13 : International return flight
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
