After pickup from your Bangkok hotel, travel to the Grand Palace, the landmark that tops Bangkok’s must-see list. Head inside the 18th-century walled complex, and stroll around the gold-trimmed pavilions, terraces, shrines and courtyards as you learn how, when and why they were built. Cap your visit with a peek inside the palace’s magnificent Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), home to a 14th-century Buddha statue carved from jade.
Next, ride a boat across the Chao Phraya, Bangkok’s ‘River of Kings’ and visit the stunning Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). Admire the Khmer-style, porcelain-mosaic covered spires of this riverfront temple as your guide reveals its religious significance and symbolism.
Your tour concludes with a transfer back to your hotel.
Please note: visitors are required to cover their shoulders, arms and legs when visiting the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha. T-shirts, shorts and vest are not permitted, and long, loose skirts and long pants must be worn.
