Day 1 Kathmandu
On arrival in Kathmandu meet a Peregrine representative who will transfer you to your hotel. There will be a group briefing with your trip leader in the late afternoon. Usually the meeting is followed by an optional group dinner at one of Kathmandu's fine Nepali restaurants.

Day 2 Kathmandu
Early this morning, make an attempt at the Mt Everest scenic flight (depending on the weather). This incredible experience will take you over the Sagamartha National Park, through some of the highest peaks in the world, climaxing with an up-close look at Mt Everest. Afte...
Day 3 Dhangadhi
Transfer to the Kathmandu domestic airport and fly to Dhangadhi, where you’ll be met and transferred to the wildlife camp in Shuklaphanta. The wildlife resort is on the largest patch of continuous grassland in Nepal, and is one of the best-known reserves to see large swa...
Day 4 Shuklaphanta National Park
Wake up early this morning, as this is the best time of day to see birds and mammals. After breakfast, head out into the reserve for a Jeep safari, keeping an eye out for birds, elephants, deer and pythons on the half-day excursion. You'll be able to cover a variety of e...
Day 5 Shuklaphanta National Park
Spend the entire day in the reserve, exploring different areas of the 305 square kilometer park by jeep. The reserve has 43 species of mammals and 425 species of birds. Hiding in the streams and rivers are mugger crocodiles, otters, and 27 species of fish. The reptile po...
Day 6 Royal Bardia National Park
After breakfast, drive to Bardia National Park (approximately 5-6 hours). The national park is the largest untouched wilderness in the Nepal’s Terai region, with habitats that range from dry upland slopes to riverine forest and pockets of savanna. It's home to abundant wildlife, including elephants, the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, and elusive Bengal tigers.

Day 7 Royal Bardia National Park
In the morning, take a game drive through the park, keeping an eye out for antelopes, elephants, deer and hyenas. There are around 40 species of mammal living in the park, including crocodiles, leopards and monkeys, and over 400 species of bird. In the afternoon, venture out on a nature walk through the reserve before dinner.

Day 8 Royal Bardia National Park
Prepare for goose bumps today, as you head out into the reserve on a tiger tracking expedition. You won't always get a glimpse of the elusive creature, but the experience is still one-in-a-million. Afterwards, enjoy an adventure of a different kind: bird watching and a jeep safari.

Day 9 Chitwan National Park
This morning, drive to Chitwan National Park (approximately 7-8 hours). After settling in, meet the camp staff and resident naturalists who will discuss upcoming activities (which may vary, depending on the time of year and wildlife movements), then head out into the for...
Day 10 Chitwan National Park
Embark on an early-morning jeep safari through the park, in search of the great Indian rhino, deer, and exotic bird life. Tiger sightings are rare these days, but these magnificent animals do still inhabit the park. Enjoy some R&R at the lodge in the afternoon, then enjoy a colourful Tharu dance performance before dinner.

It’s been more than 36 years since our first small group set out to discover Nepal. It’s this heritage and our reputation that keeps travellers coming back time and time again.

We appeal to the well-travelled, discerning traveller. The one who chooses value over price, and wants to immerse themselves in a place instead of just ticking landmarks off a bucket list. The type of person who would rather stay in a family run B&B built in a 16th century Venetian convent than a forgettable hotel. We’re for travellers who want inclusions along the way instead of fiddling around for loose change.

Almost 20 years ago, Peregrine led an industry revolution by solely employing locally born leaders. This innovative approach gives our travellers a deeper insight into the countries they visit. Doorways are opened and a true understanding of the place is fostered.

At Peregrine, we travel in intimate groups and take the time to get under the skin of a destination. Of course we all want to see the Taj Mahal in India. But imagine then heading to a remote Rajasthani village and learning about rural life while in the company of locals. Seeing the famous sites is a must, but it’s often the memory of wandering through a small village or sharing dinner with a local family that will leave a lasting impact.

We promise to share our knowledge and expertise with you, and ensure you will come home with stories you will tell for years to come.

Why we love this operator
Since their founding in 1977 by trekkers exploring Nepal, they’ve maintained a strong connection to local culture and the “traveler spirit”.
What they’re known for
Immersive experiences that prioritize value, authenticity and adventure over luxury touches for older travelers.

Guides
All Peregrine group trips are accompanied by one of our group leaders. The aim of the group leader is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. Intrepid endeavours to provide the services of an experienced leader however, due to the seasonality of travel, rare situations may arise where your leader is new to a particular region or training other group leaders. Your leader will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues and introduce you to our local friends. While not being guides in the traditional sense you can expect them to have a broad general knowledge of the places visited on the trip, including historical, cultural, religious and social aspects. At Peregrine we aim to support local guides who have specialised knowledge of the regions we visit. If you were interested in delving deeper into the local culture at a specific site or location then your leader can recommend a local guide service in most of the main destinations of your trip.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. We require that, at a minimum, you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. When travelling on a group trip, you won't be permitted to join the group until evidence of travel insurance and the insurance company's 24 hour emergency contact number has been seen by your leader. If you have credit card insurance your group leader will require details of the participating insurer/underwriter, the level of coverage, policy number and emergency contact number rather than the bank's name and credit card details. Please contact your bank for these details prior to arriving in-country.
Visa requirements
NEPAL All foreign nationals (except Indian nationals) require a visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad, or on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and at some land borders (including borders with India and Tibet). Getting a visa at the airport can sometimes take time due to long queues. There have been instances when passengers were asked to show return flight tickets. You may also need to provide two passport photos (there is a photo booth in the arrivals hall, but delays are common) and the following fees in US dollars cash. Other currencies are also accepted although rates may differ. The following costs were correct at time of writing: - Multi entry visa valid for 15 days - US$25 - Multi entry visa valid for 30 days - US$40 - Multi entry visa valid for 90 days - US$100 Please note if you are staying in Nepal for less than 24 hours while in transit a transit visa can be issued on presentation of your international flight ticket, there is a nominal charge of US$5 and one photo is required. Your visa application form may require you to state the dates on which you enter and exit that country. Please note we suggest you list your date of entry a few days before, and date of exit a few days after, your intended dates in case you encounter any delays or problems en route. To help calculate the exact dates of these crossings we have found the website www.timeanddate.com to be very useful.
