Itinerary

Day 1: Reykjavik

Meals: Dinner

Accommodation: Ocean Diamond

On arrival into Reykjavik you have the choice of many day tour options (not included) before you board your vessel the Ocean Diamond. Explore the highlights of the world's northern most national capital city or relax at the Blue Lagoon. The ship will depart Reykjavik harbour at 8 p.m. The OCEAN DIAMOND docks in Old Reykjavik Harbour in the heart of the city, a five-minute stroll from the main squares, shopping and dining.

Day 2: Stykkisholmur

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Stykkisholmur is the starting point of your adventures on the Snaefellnes Peninsula. Often called "Iceland in Miniature" because of its it diverse landscapes, the area is home to bird-rich Breidafjördur Bay and Snaefellsjokull glacier, which sits atop a 700,000-year-old dormant volcano that was featured in the Jules Verne novel Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Day 3: Isafjordur

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today's destination is Isafjordur, an idyllic town in the Westfjords region. This secluded peninsula is connected to the Icelandic mainland by only a narrow strip of land and includes many road-less areas where cars have never been. The landscape includes jaw-dropping views of dramatic fjords carved by ancient glaciers, sheer table mountains that plunge into the sea and pristine North Atlantic vegetation.

Day 4: Siglufjordur and Grimsey

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

By morning you will reach the fjord town of Siglufjordur, once the hub of the global herring industry and now enjoying a rebirth in popularity. Learn about the golden age of herring at the award-winning Herring Era Museum located on the vibrant harbour-front. In the early afternoon we head to uninhabited Grimsey Island. Located about 25 miles (40 km) off the mainland on the Artic Circle, the island harbours a variety of bird species including puffins, guillemots and gulls. Later, set sail for Akureyri, Iceland's lovable second largest city.

Day 5: Akureyri

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Ranging inland from Akureyri, you will visit the fascinating Lake Myvatn region, where the schizophrenic landscape looks as if "heaven and hell" have clashed. One side of the lake features rugged volcanic remnants, while the other side is blessed with lush vegetation and varied bird life. Summer shore excursion options (not included in the trip price) include a journey to Askja volcano via Super Jeep.

Day 6: Husavik

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

In the early morning hours the vessel steams into Skjalfandi Bay and Húsavík. Often called the "Whale watching capital" of Iceland, the town's offshore waters are home to 15 different whale species, as well as dolphins and 30 variety of bird. Watching these graceful ocean giants in their Arctic habitat is an unforgettable experience

Day 7: Seydisfjordur

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Iceland's East Fjords are best explored from the impossibly picturesque port of Seydisfjordur, nestled between the sea and steep mountains. Activities include seal spotting, horseback riding, kayaking and guided hikes of the Vestadalur area.

Day 8: Djupivogur

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today's port of call is Djupivogur fishing village in southeast Iceland, starting point for an optional excursion (not included in the trip price) to Vatnajokull glacier.

Day 9: Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Located off Iceland's south coast, the Westman Islands were formed by submarine volcanic eruptions around 10,000 years ago. Surtsey Island emerged from the sea in 1963 and is one the youngest land masses on earth. We go ashore on Heimaey, the only inhabited island, where half-buried houses remain from a violent 1973 eruption. During the shore landing there is time for bird watching and you might even spot whales.

Day 10: Reykjavik

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, bid farewell to the OCEAN DIAMOND as you sail back into Reykjavik. Fantastic add-ons (not included in the trip price) include trips to the inland areas like the Golden Circle and its famous Gullfoss waterfall, Thingvellir National Park or simply hang out in Reykjavik, a perfect city for those who want to refresh their spirit in a place that combines invigorating outdoor activities, great food and world-class entertainment.

All companies need employees such as Paula Polachek and Ramy Fouad!! Being this was my first time using GoWay, Paula was extremely helpful. She made sure I understood the process and walked me through the payment process so I could apply the clients payments. She answered any questions within 24 hours and she would even personally call me

We had an excellent GoWay representative who answered all our questions promptly and helped us find a tour that worked well for us. I appreciate that GoWay maintained and supplemented our deposit from when we had to cancel our initial trip due to the pandemic.
We had no issues with our reservations in South Korea. Pickup and drop off to and from the airport were on time and straight forward. The Ibis hotel that was booked for us through GoWay was fairly average (so I am curious to know the costs of it), but the location was amazing, so no real complaints.

Agent was able to determine what our needs and wants were for this trip and designed a perfect itinerary, which was followed to a 'T' once landed in Nairobi. The lodges were very different from each other, yet unique on their own. Staff was always professional, respectful, on time, very well educated knowledgeable about flora and fauna.

I planned this big Asia family trip with Maria Spitman for over a year, as I've had to postpone this family trip several times. I must have asked Maria to look up flights 50 times! I also kept changing my mind on hotels, and family members who were going to come cancelled. We would probably aggravate most people however Maria was nothing but patient and accommodating, and always responded in a timely manner.

This was also a complicated trip - we were traveling with a baby and toddler, went on 8 flights, stayed in 4 hotels across 4 destinations in 3 countries. We also booked a driver and car in each destination. Maria booked everything accurately and made no mistakes. I was very particular with our seating arrangement for the flights, and Maria sat down with me on Zoom and we booked it together. She also contacted the airlines for me to get bassinet seating.

The drivers we got were professional, always on time, and went above their jobs by helping us with the kids (including holding the baby so we could eat in peace) and guiding us on food suggestions.

We had an issue with a hotel mistaking us for another guest (their fault, not the agency's). This was at 8 PM and we were tired from flying. Candice L, the agent in Singapore was immediately reachable and stepped in to fix the problem.

Overall I would say if you do your own research into what kind of destination and hotel experience you want, and present it to your agent, the agent will fill in the gaps and you'll have a wonderful trip.

Great excursions and flight planning on our trip to Australia. After getting a preliminary itinerary from the website, I appreciated that Lisa from Goway Travel responded immediately to my email that I have a tween son and wanted outdoor activities that would keep him engaged, and for us to have fun together as a family. I wanted to skip the major cities that are included in every Australia tour and focus on the Reef and Rainforests in the North. All the excursions booked were great and the flights and transportation to and from hotels went perfectly.
