Itinerary
Discover the thriving city of Toronto before preparing for the journey ahead. Perhaps arrive early to explore Toronto’s vibrant mix of urban streets and lush parks and gardens, or visit the iconic CN Tower for an astonishing view of the city.
Take a charter flight to Resolute, a small community on Cornwallis Island. Here, just over 200 residents live among the ancient glaciers, gravel roads and mountainous beaches. Climb aboard the ship and get ready for life on the Arctic waters.
The first stop is Beechey Island, an historic site of Canada. Now home to scientific research stations, the island was once an Arctic exploration centre for expeditions in search of the Northwest Passage. Pay homage at the graves of the crewmen who died on John Frankl...
Visit Croker Bay to hopefully see its glacier calving icebergs into the water. Then travel on to Dundas Harbour, which is home to a now abandoned Royal Canadian Mounted Police outpost and Canada's most northerly graveyard, the final resting place of Mounties who served at this remote station until 1951.
A visit to Pond Inlet and it's internationally renowned artist colony provides the chance to browse for Inuit art pieces. Or perhaps explore the hamlet or hike the nearby tundra.
Sam Ford Fjord's towering cliffs are on full display while sailing past this impressive coastline. Witness the dramatic 'Stump Spire', where base jumpers sometime jump into the icy waters below.
Keep your binoculars and cameras at the ready, as Isabella Bay gives fantastic opportunities for whale watching. Greenland right whales and orca can often be seen swimming in this area.
Witness the impressive sight of numerous icebergs crowding together in Qikiqtarjuak's Davis Straight. Walk along one of the many walking trails to see this sight up close and to enjoy spectacular views of the island. Be on the look out for the mysterious narwhal whale that is known to inhabit the area.
Greenland awaits as you cross Baffin Bay.
Observe the world's fastest moving glacier by zodiac and fingers crossed for the chance to witness ice calving off the glacier's face. Ilulissat is a World Heritage site and the birthplace of many an iceberg (maybe even the one that sunk the Titanic!).
Spend your last full day on the Sea Explorer discovering two typical Greenlandic towns. Observe an Inuit kayaking demonstration and explore the 18th-century colonial buildings of Sisimiut before continuing on to Itilleq.
Say goodbye to the ship in Kangerlussuaq before returning to city life with a flight to Montreal. Discover cosmopolitan eateries and a flourishing art and music scene during an overnight stay.
Today sees this incredible Arctic adventure at an end. Head home or perhaps stay on longer to explore the delights of Montreal and Quebec in more detail.

Tour Operator
It’s been more than 36 years since our first small group set out to discover Nepal. It’s this heritage and our reputation that keeps travellers coming back time and time again.
We appeal to the well-travelled, discerning traveller. The one who chooses value over price, and wants to immerse themselves in a place instead of just ticking landmarks off a bucket list. The type of person who would rather stay in a family run B&B built in a 16th century Venetian convent than a forgettable hotel. We’re for travellers who want inclusions along the way instead of fiddling around for loose change.
Almost 20 years ago, Peregrine led an industry revolution by solely employing locally born leaders. This innovative approach gives our travellers a deeper insight into the countries they visit. Doorways are opened and a true understanding of the place is fostered.
At Peregrine, we travel in intimate groups and take the time to get under the skin of a destination. Of course we all want to see the Taj Mahal in India. But imagine then heading to a remote Rajasthani village and learning about rural life while in the company of locals. Seeing the famous sites is a must, but it’s often the memory of wandering through a small village or sharing dinner with a local family that will leave a lasting impact.
We promise to share our knowledge and expertise with you, and ensure you will come home with stories you will tell for years to come.

Style descriptions
Comfort is your style of travel if you want the whole grassroots experience with more inclusions, meals and creature comforts. While accommodation is predominantly tourist class (3-4 star), on some itineraries there is the opportunity to stay with a local family, spend the night on a train or camp out in exotic places (without putting up your own tent of course). Along the way, you'll really experience the destination up close. You'll mingle with locals, enjoy a taste of their way of life and gain special insights from your leader. This is not luxury travel, but real world experiences - just with a softer landing!
