Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary.
Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country or countries.
The majority of travelers to Sweden gave 4 or 5 star reviews on their tours. In particular, guests enjoyed the well-rounded itineraries that provided cultural sightseeing, active opportunities and excellent hospitality. The tours were largely seen as highly organized and well-curated to provide a comfortable and enriching travel experience.
Of the few lower reviews of 1-3 stars, most travelers discussed difficulties that can come up with any travel experience. They mentioned things from lodging being different from the standards of their home country, to the logistics of the trip having to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances.
In general, many of those who went to Sweden and its neighboring countries, thoroughly enjoyed their experience. Many tours plan for excursions into various Scandinavian countries on the same trip. This gives travelers the opportunity to gain a holistic perspective of the region.
Regardless, you can also dive into Sweden alone and find a trip with many cultural, historical, natural and artistic delights.

Avanti Destinations is a HORRIBLE and dishonest company. Paul Barry(who is sole owner) along wtih executive team of COO Mark Grundy, CMO John Hanratty and CFO Susan Marra should be ashamed on how they run a company. As a military family we booked our trip to London to leave March 21, 2020. This was to be our FAMILY trip overseas. While C19 is not the fault of Avanti, it is Barry who is at fault. While other airlines and travel agencies are giving a 100% REFUND not just vouchers Avanti is holding our money hostage. Trying to work with anyone associated with this company does not response. How can USTOA stand behind this company? How do we get a FULL REFUND from Avanti? My travel agent sent us information and our of almost $7000.00 we would get back $1700.00. Seriously? We are PCSing to another country in Asia and want to travel. What is Avanti decides to file bankruptcy because Barry does not know how to manage clients money. SOMEONE HELP US!!!

I would love to write a review about our meticulously planned out trip, but as our $12000 week long trip to London and Dublin was cancelled due to a global pandemic, I cannot. This company has made it not just hard but nearly impossible to help out their customers who are in awful situations during this time. They are completely unwilling to budge on their bottom line even a little.
We had to cancel due to boarder/country closings and this company is trying to keep 100% of our money. We were booked to fly with British Airlines, and BA refunded $700 per person and that is all that this company has given us.
If by some miracle we get a representative on the phone they are condescending and degrading. I even spoke with the VP of the company and he was the worst. He made me feel small and unimportant. This whole company is taking advantage of the situation and unless people get lawyers involved they are completely unwilling to refund any money.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If something goes wrong on your trip, which let face it, multi country trips often have at least one thing go wrong, this company will NOT HELP! Do yourself a favor and go with someone else who has much better customer service and company values.

This glorious trip is 1 week with people on the Taste of Scandinavia tour then 2 weeks with those on the Scandinavian Explorer trip (I’m so glad I chose all 3 weeks). You’ll see incredible places (the fjords!) but prepare for all kinds of weather (bone chilling rain) even in August. Heed the trip notes and research your free time, because there’s a lot of it. Expect to use a mobile/cell phone for maps and communicating. Go! It’s so worth it!

Simply an amazing trip - so much seen and done. Each country is uniquely different and it has been great to experience them all. This trip provides a complete Scandinavian immersion - from the big cities of Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki to some surprising great smaller locations like Bergen, Gudvangen and Lillehammer.

We did “Complete Scandinavia” trip and had a fabulous time. We enjoyed every place we stayed, from the capital cities to smaller towns like Lillehammer and Gudvangen (fjords). The tour leaders were knowledgable and well organised so we were able to relax and enjoy the trip without worrying about transfers and tickets etc. Highly recommended.

Fantastic insight into Scandinavia. Highlights were the local guide who took us cycling in Copenhagen and a 4th generation local guide at wild, beautiful Vrångö Island. Our tour leader, Martina was superb, extremely well organised and happy. Good amount of time at each place. Didn’t feel rushed. Loved the trip.

The Taste of Scandinavia trip was fantastic and a great way to get an introduction to this beautiful part of the World! The travel and accommodation was great and all went smoothly. Ivan our tour leader took great care of us all and we had a lovely friendly group to share the experience with. It was great to both do things with the group and to have time to do our own thing and it was great to travel on the local transport.

Well organised and interesting however I felt the itinerary let the leader and trip down when we visited the Aland Islands, where everything was closed and we wandered for hours, not departing until almost midnight.

Most of the trip was very nice, however Lillihammer and Mora were questionable stops and Åland was a total bust. I realize Lillihammer and Mora are somewhat dictated by geography. Åland was a completely wasted day - we arrived at 4:00 to a town that had rolled up the sidewalks for the season. Staying in Stocholm until the 4:30 ferry left would have been much more enjoyable. I also think the quad share room on the ferry is cutting corners pretty closely.
