Tonight’s culinary tour finds you mingling with locals in Chinatown, sampling a wide variety of Asian delicacies from the many food vendors.

Chiang Mai is revered by the Thai as the cultural and spiritual heart of their country. Enjoy three unhurried nights at the deluxe Anantara Chiang Mai Hotel.

Day 5: Hill tribes of the north + temples of the city

Meal: Breakfast

The mountains outside of Chiang Mai are dotted with remote villages that encompass a range of different ethnic tribes including the Palong tribe that emerged from Tibet and the famed long-neck women of the Karen tribe. This morning is filled with remarkable discovery and engagement as you visit a number of these villages. Back in the city, our special trishaw adventure is a great way to explore the city’s most revered temples.

Day 6: Adventures in the jungle!

Early risers can opt for a hot air balloon adventure over the temples of Bagan, shimmering in the golden light of dawn. At a busy morning market, you’ll experience a slice of village life. The tour was wonderful thanks to our great guide Mickey Medzini! Incredible knowledge of this amazing country from both a historic and religious perspective. Every stop was filled with significance and meaning. The hotels, with the exception of the first, were excellent and the food was delicious and varied. Be prepared for a great deal of walking and many steps.
